I am a non-religious, non-traditional, LGBTQIA+ Wedding Celebrant based in London, but willing to travel. I specialise in unique, vibrant and memorable celebrations of love that represent and reflect the individuals at their centre. With over ten years’ experience in the performance and festival world as a writer, event host, ceremony leader and storyteller, I have know how to engage audiences wit

h warmth, humour, professionalism and openness. I have hosted events and shows at festivals such as Wilderness, Meadows in the Mountains and Shambala; I have conducted opening ceremonies for The Nest Collective; as well as co-managing and performing with The Embers Collective. As an independent celebrant, I weave my own original ideas and suggestions with your needs and wants, to craft a unique ceremony that is exactly how you want it to be. On the day itself, I will confidently deliver a celebration of love that you, your family, and your friends will remember for the rest of your lives. As a teacher and workshop leader, I can guide you and those involved in your big day to help Find Your Voice with my speech and vow writing workshops. Additionally, I can use my expertise and experience in festivals and events to help plan the full day itself. From booking bands, MCs, venues, DJs and photographers, I can guide you in creating your own Festival of Love.

Lisa and Phil wanted to do things differently, and instead of having the ceremony separate to the meal, it was instead woven around the meal with the words, speeches, poems, handfasting and ring exchange interspersed by the fantastic food at

It was a really fun opportunity to play with the ceremony format and do things in a truly unique, special way.

It's hard to beat a ring exchange and some vows, which can be tailored and written however you want them, and incorporated into a handfasting.

Pam and Paul wrote their own personal vows and exchanged their rings while draped in the ropes placed around their hands by family members, before 'tieing the knot'.

Growing up I never really thought marriage was for me. Without fully understanding why at the time, I felt distant, disconnected and alienated from the Catholic church weddings I grew up with.

Even as an adult I didn't fully understand why people felt the need to get married in the modern day. In fact, at one point I was pretty certain that I'd never get married.

A few years ago, in an attempt to understand marriage, I set about interviewing people in my life, asking them their thoughts and feelings on the topic. It was this path that ultimately led me to being a celebrant.

What emerged from these conversations is that marriage is a celebration of love, and in a world filled with hate it became really easy to see that we need more of this. Seeing people celebrate their love in truly unique ways began to shift my perspective of what marriage could be.

I decided to be a celebrant to enable people to celebrate their love in a way that is unique, memorable and meaningful to them. Once you move away from tradition, the options are endless!

As a q***r person, I also want to ensure that marriage is accessible to anyone who wants it, especially those who have been discriminated against by the restrictions and traditions of hetronormative marriage.

And, this summer I myself am stepping into this wonderful human ritual, and getting married to the love of my life and best friend. I've found a love that deserves to be celebrated, surrounded by our family and friends and I couldn't be more excited.

Marriage is for anyone who wants it, no matter what your sexuality, gender or relationship style. In fact I believe getting married as a Q***r person can be a gentle act of rebellion, a waving of a flag that says 'we are here'.

Let's celebrate love in all its forms!

"My mother did not want a funeral but insisted on a celebration of her life as time for joy, laughter, music and memories. We were lucky to find Lonan. He was the perfect celebrant to host our farewell.

He was so easy and approachable. And he managed to capture the essence of my mother’s life perfectly. Our guests were charmed by his story telling ability and his humility. Communication was excellent throughout the planning and he had lots of good ideas and advice to offer.
