Thrilled to have finished Tanita's pressed bridal bouquet piece and had fun putting it all together 🌿
A special keepsake to go alongside Sam's buttonhole 🥰
The flowers were pressed from the bouquet the day after the wedding and then left for 2-3 weeks to dry and be ready to work with. For the larger flowers such as the peony I pressed individual petals and then built the flower up piece by piece.
Swipe right to see the full picture and also the bouquet on the wedding day

Hello 👋🌿🌾
It has been a while and flowers have been officially on pause while I delivered my annual conference for my Mon to Thurs job. But that is now done and dusted for another year and I'm back in the garden. Whoop!
Those who know me know I'm not a photo person but Rory got this one of me on our way to watch the England match - homegrown bouquets at the ready for the hosts! 😊
Rest assured flower spam will be returning to your Insta feed!

Finally - a dry day! ☀️ The sweet peas are blooming and I can be mainly found wandering around sniffing a bunch in my hand - such a delicious smell.
The Ammi is also finally blooming and is now so tall it has outgrown Rory!
This country mantle arrangement was made yesterday in between dashing outside in between showers. All garden grown apart from the British Sweet William ❤️
Happy Sunday all xx

Well that was a wet Monday but glad to see the sun shining now!
Found this picture in the archive from a couple of years back (you can tell as we hadn't painted the wall!) and was interested to see the change in flowers blooming this year - my ammi is just coming out, the nigella is already going over, my cerinthe is done already and the zinnia have been eaten! (Although I do have some seedlings inside also)
How's it going in your garden?

Finishing off with a home grown handtied bouquet as a gift for today's generous hosts ❤️
Thank you Robin and Charlotte for a beautiful afternoon xx

Happy Friday all! 🌿
Flashback to some blooms from previous years grown in the garden ❤️

It's and I am on holiday BUT before I left I made this pretty meadow arrangement made from all the bits that were in bloom in the cutting beds.
I love how just using multiple different vase shapes and sizes and different heights of flower you can create an arrangement that is delicate, has texture and depth and also (and most importantly) does not uses
Why not try having something like this on your mantle or in a window that you change up and add to as the seasons change 🥰

A mini floral pin holder, a bowl of water and a few left over stems makes for a lovely little delicate floral faff 🌿
Happy Tuesday all!

A garden bouquet starring the beautiful Geum 'Lady Stratheden' 🧡
Grown from seed a couple of years back she comes back year after year in the beds and never fails to delight. She's paired with nigella and briza maxima grasses here - pretty much all I have flowering in the beds at the moment.
The Ammi is on her way and keeping fingers crossed for the plant babies that I planted out today. Hopefully they won't be just stalks tomorrow.....🐌🐌🐌

Nigella in bloom today ✨️

Flashback to last weekend and four pretty bridesmaids bouquets sitting in a row ❤️
I always encourage my couples to think about using the bouquets to decorate the venues after the ceremony and photos - after all they need to be put down at some point! By supplying vases then these beauties could help decorate side tables / the bar or window sills and be kept fresh to take home and enjoy after the big day!

Loved making this pretty flower crown for the wedding at the weekend - such lovely early summer colours and the flower girl it was for looked so lovely 😍
(that wasn't me BTW but always have to test the crown out before delivery!)

Happy Monday all! 🌿

Huge congratulations to the lovely Tanita & Sam who married yesterday ❤️ It was a pleasure to flower your special day.
Tanita's bouquet was made with show stopping Coral Charm Peony, sky blue Delphinium, coral Ranunculus, delicate Orlaya grandiflora and my own home grown favourite grass, Briza maxima. Finished as always with a beautiful burnt orange and blue silk ribbons from 🥰 Against the bridesmaids wearing burnt orange gowns, this looked absolutely stunning!
Trying to time the peony opening just right was tricky with the weather but the old rolled newspaper and storing in the fridge worked a treat. Apologies to anyone who was around me last week as that was all I was banging on about 🤣
And now for a 🍷

Having a glass of red after my first wedding of the year. Will post some more pictures soon but this beauty was one of the stars of the show ✨️ Isn't she just 👌❤

And boom 💥 The peonies have arrived!

Had fun yesterday making this arrangement with mixture of homegrown and wholesale blooms. Loving the pops of colour and the fluffy allium. And of course leaning into the wiggle of the stems. Hope it makes you smile 😊

Nigella incoming....🙌 Not long now!

Home grown pretties for today's BBQ table! What are you up to this bank holiday weekend?
21/04/2024
Successful planting out day and the beds are looking tidy and new! 🌿 Sweet peas are out and again growing up the willow obelisk I made with last year. The goldfinch have been keeping me company also 🥰
Have you been doing any garden jobs today?
I'm hoping to report tomorrow that the fox or cat have not dug everything up!

First bouquet from the garden 🙌 🌿
The lilac is smelling divine as always.....seems early though but maybe that's just me!
Tomorrow, hopefully the hardy annuals are going to go out creating some much needed room for new seedlings 🌱

Have been enjoying experimenting with my new drawing tablet today and here's the result - hoping that once I've got some more practice in I can digitally draw my designs for my proposals 🌿

New favourites! 🤩 I love violas and couldn't resist these little sunny beauties.
Happy Sunday all 🌿

I love an irregular arrangement ❤️
When I first started I used to be very neat and want everything to be symmetrical but frankly nature (mostly!) isn't like that. Over the years I have experimented and come to appreciate each wiggly stem and its place in the vase. Hope it brings you as much joy 😊

Who knew Kale flowers could be so pretty?
As the weather has been so mild, the spinach and kale has just kept on going through winter. The husband is in the bed today so enjoying these fleeting flowers before they make way for new seedlings 🌱

A belated Happy 1st Anniversary to the beautiful and Rob. Can't believe it's a year since this gorgeous spring-filled day!
Daffodils everywhere and such a joy to be a part of 🥰

6 years ago today I was waking up on my own wedding morning, and was surprised to see snow steadily falling on the skylight of the hotel room. Quite a change from the blue-sky and warmth of the day before but it made for a memorable day!
It was without doubt one of the coldest but most special days, surrounded by people we love and who love us, to witness our commitment to each other for life. 6 years on, thank you to everyone who was with us that day ❤️
Over the years I've both attended and been privileged to flower many weddings and I love how each one is so individual to the couple. Don't ever feel like you have to fit in with the crowd - you do you and the day will be all the more special for it.
And to my amazing husband who has always stood by me, supported me, encouraged me and believed in me (as well as helped load numerous vans, worked with me to deliver my bigger weddings, kept me fed and helped me tidy up), thank you, thank you. I love you so much and here's to doing more life together ❤️
Last but not least, thank you to the wonderful who captured the whole day, floods, snow and all! Every time I look at our photos I can hear, the laughter, feel the bite of that wind chill and remember the warmth and love of friends and family.
And to for my spring flowers and for teaching me 🥰

About
Connie Vera Flowers is a London and Surrey based wedding and event florist run by Katie Draper.
With over 10 years experience of working in the event industry including the Royal Horticultural Society flower shows, I have always had a love of flowers and the outdoors. After taking a career break back in 2018, I simply couldn't get running my own floral design service out of my mind and so I decided to set up Connie Vera Flowers - named after my beloved Granny and Grandma who taught and inspired my love of flowers and plants.
My Approach
Whether you are looking for flowers for your wedding day or to transform your event, I'd love to help make your ideas a reality. There's nothing I enjoy more than working with clients to develop their brief and my creativity combined with my practical delivery experience means that my designs are not only beautiful but achievable.
Whether you know exactly what you're looking for or you need some inspiration, please get in touch to discuss your event.
As each event has unique requirements I provide a bespoke quotation for each event I undertake. I am happy to work with all budgets and find a solution that works for you.
I work predominantly in Greater London, Surrey, Middlesex, Kent, Essex and Sussex but am happy to consider travelling further afield for your event.
Environmental Information
Unless absolutely necessary, I opt to not use floral foam (such as Oasis) in my designs and am always looking for new innovative ways to create arrangements without using this product.
Floral foam is a product that has been used in the florist industry since the 1950's and comes in green blocks that you soak in water and then place flower stems directly into. It keeps flowers hydrated whilst providing a secure base for the arrangement, however it is essentially a single use plastic derived from petroleum which has to go to landfill after it is used.
All of my green waste is also composted following the event.
