💜 TAKE YOUR TIME 💜
Start your planning as early as possible to give you the chance to allow a pace that suits you. Rushing decisions can lead to making the wrong ones.
💜 GET AN EDUCATION 💜
Once you start your wedding planning you're not suddenly expected to know everything there is to know about weddings. Listen to podcasts, follow experts, visit wedding planning websites.
💜 SCHEDULE TIME IN AND OUT 💜
It can be exhausting to be permanently 'switched on' with your planning. Yes have regular times when you're planning, but it's also important to have lots of time when you're not, or even talking about your wedding.
💜 GET ORGANISED 💜
Even with the smallest wedding, there is a lot to be thinking about. You'll get lots of information, which is a lot to keep track of. Put important dates in your diary, so that you don't miss them.
💜 KEEP THINGS SIMPLE 💜
In every decision you make ask yourself 'Do we really want/ need this? Will it make a difference? For every aspect look at what happens on the back end of your decisions. How much organising is involved?
💜 BE OPEN TO ADVICE 💜
For your suppliers this is not their first rodeo, so ask their opinion.
💜 DON'T STRUGGLE 💜
It's not a rite of passage to struggle with planning your wedding. If you need it get help if you want to. The days of only the rich and famous having a wedding planner/ designer are long gone. Invest in yourself and save your time and energy.

Wedding boutonnières a pain in the...finger
AMAZING idea for those tricky boutonnières...
I love this Instagram reel from Nathan Chanski Photography He's a Michigan-based photographer and is full of awesome inspiring ideas, and he makes me chuckle so that's a bonus too 🤣
I've heard this so many times from wedding photographers that they're drafted in as CHIEF BOUTONNIÈRE PINNER, some even ending up with bleeding fingers.
Now that is serious dedication to your wedding day. 🫶
A while back a fabulous photographer friend Iska Birnie Photography told me of a better idea that everyone getting married should embrace.
MAGNETIC BOUTONNIÈRE PINS
Yes, you heard right! This is an alternative to punctured pinkies, they're totally amazing and not expensive either.
Go check them out, you'll be so happy that you did.

Yes, it cost 1 MILLION DOLLARS!!
This is a beauty of a post from @wedworldmagazine so a big thank you to them. 👏
Truly one of the most expensive wedding gowns to have ever been made. Designed by none other than Elie Saab himself, this dress was specially designed for his daughter-in-law, Christina. It boasts of 500,000 sequins, embroidered tulle, and a 14-feet long train.. 💵💗
Now obviously this dress is aimed at a very select group of brides, however, if your bank account could handle buying this and bearing in mind just how stunning it is...
WOULD YOU?

Although the days of men just organising the stag do and turning up on the day are going, planning a wedding is still predominately done by the bride-to-be.
Before you start planning anything, sit down together and chat about what things you and he would like to be involved with planning.
He'll probably lean towards those things where he can use his strengths, and that allows him to keep control better.
You both need to manage your expectations by making things clear right from the beginning:
💜 What is to be done by each of you AND together?
💜 When it should be done by? (break it down if there is a lot to it)
💜 Offer to give support if he needs it.
Giving a date for a follow-up, creates accountability for both of you and will keep your wedding planning on track.

Read your supplier contracts
Listen up, lovebugs!
As a wedding planner, I've seen it all. And let me tell you, reading your supplier contracts is as important as deciding which flavour of cake to serve. Seriously, you don't want to end up with a sour deal.
I know it's as much fun as trying to eat dry crackers without a drink, but don't be that couple who signs on the dotted line without reading the fine print.
So, take a break from obsessing over your Pinterest boards and give those contracts a good read-through.
You'll thank me later when you're not hit with unexpected fees or a cancellation policy that would make your toes curl.
Go through it with a fine tooth comb and if you don't understand any part of your contract then make sure you ask your supplier to explain it to you.

I LOVE this idea! 💡
I just had to share this with you all. Thank you to Green Wedding Shoes for posting this. 👏
What a fabulous idea to surprise your partner on your anniversary in your wedding dress, then spend the night reminiscing and watching your wedding video, or looking through your photos.
Our 1st anniversary is coming up and I think I might try this. ALTHOUGH, I'm going to be really upset if I can't get the zip up on my wedding dress anymore. Here's hoping! 🤞
👉🏼 Save this idea and drop a ❤️ to congratulate this sweet couple 😍

It all starts with managing your expectations!
Now, if I'm being honest, this is true for planning every part of your wedding day.
BUT
The excitement of finding THE venue can often mean that thinking about the amount of work that is involved gets forgotten...
UNTIL YOU START LOOKING THAT IS!
Then it can be a bit of a shock 🤯
If you go into the research thinking that this may take some time and effort, that will put you in a much better headspace for the work you have ahead of you.
If you're finding yourself spinning around in circles then drop a venue question into my DMs and let's get you taking back control.

Time for the wedding guest seating plan challenge!
Hey there, engaged couples!
Ready to tackle one of the most fun and frustrating parts of wedding planning? That's right, it's time to talk guest seating plans!
Don't worry, I've got your back.
It can be a bit of a nightmare to work around the family politics and who will get on with whom, so here are some tips to help you get through this puzzle of a task:
💜 Start early - Procrastination is never a good idea, especially when it comes to wedding planning. Trust me, you don't want to be rushing this one and you can tweak it for any last-minute changes.
💜 Consider your guests' relationships - Think about who will have fun sitting together and who might clash. You don't want Uncle Bob and Aunt Sue sitting next to each other if they haven't spoken since the Great New Year Debacle of '09. You want to make sure everyone is comfortable and has a good time.
💜 Group guests by interests - If you have a group of sports fans or a gang of music lovers, why not seat them together? They'll have plenty to chat about and maybe even start a sing-along or two.
💜 Use a seating plan tool - There are many online tools available that can help you create a seating chart. Some even allow you to drag and drop guests and make changes on the fly.
Remember, creating a seating chart is like a game of Tetris - it takes some patience and a bit of luck, but in the end, it all fits together.
Your guests will have a great time no matter where they're seated!
Happy planning!

Surround yourself with strong women!
ESPECIALLY ON YOUR WEDDING DAY!
This day, of all days, it's so important to be surrounded by strong women who can carry you through any hiccups on your special day.
Whether that be nerves, a lost shoe, or sorting out your wedding dress just before you walk down the aisle.
Your intimate group of ladies may not just include your bridal party. Your mum, a favourite aunt, or even your soon-to-be mother-in-law can all be part of your bridal support too.
Obviously, your bridal support team can also include your favourite males, but as today is International Women's Day we're just talking about the female of the species
Look at the things that you will need people to do, be specific and choose the people that you can count on to carry out those things that you need.
Choose well, as it could make or break your experience of your wedding day.

Have you thought about what you want to do with your wedding flowers after your wedding day? 🥀
Here’s one thing, that you can do...
Back in June, I had the wonderful Happily Ever Arty preserve flowers from my wedding bouquet.
The other flowers went elsewhere, however, as this was my wedding bouquet I wanted to keep it close by.
There are many options, however, in the end, I went with preserving it in resin.
It sits on my desk and seeing it every day makes me smile and brings back the beautiful memories of our wedding day.
There are many other things that you can do, this is just what I did with mine to give you an idea.
What are you doing with your wedding flowers?
Let me know in the comments below ⤵️
The number ONE mistake I see engaged couples making is…
Not knowing their numbers, all of their numbers!
💜 I'll be totally honest with you... it's not sexy or romantic, but it's ESSENTIAL!
💜 I always advise my couples right at the beginning of their planning to look at their numbers.
💜 Whether, this is the number of guests coming, the total wedding budget available, or even how many wedding cars are needed. The numbers are there at every part of the wedding.
💜 Even when you get to the actual wedding day itself, it's still about the numbers, albeit in the form of timings...it all still counts as numbers though.
Now, if you're thinking 'Crikey Tracy, that's a whole lot of numbers that we have to keep track of' I have something that might be of interest to you.
I'm working on a special something that will make this whole process so much easier and give you control over each part. 💪
Stay tuned for more information…
OR, if you can't wait to find out more then DM me for all the juicy details. 😉
What do we do when people keep interfering in our wedding planning?
You'll be surprised by the number of times I get asked this, so I figured it’s time to dive in and answer and give my thoughts on it.
Now it might not be your future mother-in-law that is poking her nose in, it might be your bestie, your aunty, or even your grandpa.
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO IT IS!
My thoughts are the same... they want the best for you and your wedding day. That is fabulous, but any help or advice must be on your terms.
Planning a wedding can be stressful enough, without the added pressure of those you love adding to it.
Be kind, but be firm!
Right from the beginning manage everyone's expectations, and you'll get the help that you want when you want it.
Obviously, if someone has gifted you a large sum of money, or it is traditional in your culture that is a different conversation to he having, however, it still stands if you manage everyone's expectations from the beginning you'll find things so much easier.
Now I’m curious... is this what you expected my answer to be?
Let me know in the comments 💜
Happy Friday to you all!
Here is a little Friday fun for you, which I hope will bring a smile to your face.
I have passed it on to my fiancé who is currently digesting this information. 🤣
Feel free to pass it onto your partners too.
Remember though, this is tongue-in-cheek and not how I really feel about relationship communications.
It just made me giggle.
Have a great weekend!
Tracy
