Reminiscing on the Open Day at Abbots Court has made us even more excited for the 2025 Wedding Season ahead! ✨

We are in the middle of Wedding Tastings at the moment, which gives us the opportunity to spend some quality time with our lovely couples, whilst perfecting their dishes for their Special Day. It’s a lovely time to catch up after the Christmas buzz, and ramp up the excitement that THIS is the year they get married!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Thank you to all of our lovely clients and wedding couples who put their trust in us to deliver the AKO experience, and what a year 2024 was. Tears of happiness were shed, many laughs were had and new friends were made.

Thank you also to our suppliers for consistently delivering top quality produce and products, we couldn’t do what we do without you.

To everyone on here who has supported us through liking, commenting and sharing us, we see you and it truly does have more of an impact than you may know.

And finally, to our incredible family members and friends who are always there to boost us up, get stuck in, and bare with us being MIA during the busy season! We feel so incredibly lucky to have the team and support network that we do, and they are the ones who make AKO what it is.

Another wonderful Wedding showcase at this weekend, perfectly captured by the brilliant (If you haven’t booked Darren as your photographer yet, we would highly recommend getting on it as he books up v quickly and is a phenomenal photographer!!) ✨

We always love being a part of the Abbots Court Wedding showcases as it gives us such a lovely opportunity to catch up with our couples booked for 2025 and 2026, as well as catching up with our supplier friends too!

Not only did everything look perfect for a magical Wedding at Abbots Court, but we were definitely feeling the Christmas spirit too.. the perfect way to enter December 🎄

A little throwback to spooky season when we had the pleasure of serving a two-course themed dinner for C&K!

The main brief was a seasonal menu that wasn’t too heavy, with a little homage to Halloween. And we provided exactly that. In true AKO style, we were so swept up in service, that we didn’t stop to photograph the dishes!

Paired with linen, plenty of spooky decorations and all of the guests in full fancy dress.. it was definitely an evening full of fun!

We particularly loved the hanging witches hats and candles, and a shoutout to the roller skating couple 🕯️

We often get asked “lamb scrumpet? what’s that then?” And once we’ve described the braised lamb which just melts in your mouth, encased in crunchy herby crumb and topped with aioli, it’s usually one that gets instantly added to their chosen canapés!

It’s one of our most popular canapés because it offers multiple textures with the crunchy outer, a soft, pulled meat inside and is packed with flavour.

Fun fact: it’s actually a dish that started off as a starter on one of our private dining menus, which we offered as a one-off canapé too.. and the rest is history! 🌿

The dreamiest day for V&G at ✨

One of the three starter options were these pan-seared scallops with roasted cauliflower, pancetta and a herb oil. It was definitely a dish that went down a treat. A special thank you to .photography for capturing!

There was not a moment that V&G weren’t both laughing or beaming together, and the atmosphere was electric. You could feel a lot of love, fun and precious family time throughout the room.. and we loved that 🩵

With every event we do, we have a team of incredible women behind us, every step of the way. Whether it be those eagerly starting their very first job with us, or a mother finding time to bring sunshine to AKO ☺️

Intelligent, nurturing, energetic, hard-working, passionate, charismatic, ambitious.. the list of the qualities they possess goes on and on. We cannot thank them enough.

(Unpopular) Opinion Alert ‼️

Who decided that canapés have to be savoury? Don’t get us wrong, we have some incredibly delicious savoury canapés to offer (chipolatas ) and are in the process of taste testing some new ones whilst we write this.

BUT. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, why can’t you offer something sweet to your guests too? Zesty lemon meringue tartlets a little bit of you? How about a pistachio macaron to nibble on with your welcome glass of fizz?

Your Wedding Day is supposed to be all about the two of you. So choose what you want, eat what you want to eat. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered here at AKO 🍫

As far as views go, it doesn’t get much better than this 🙏🏼

We were blown away by Came House when we arrived to provide a Seven-Course Tasting Menu for lovely guests staying in the Courtyard House. The sun was shining as we made our way up the drive, and setting over the courtyard just as we prepared to serve the first of the dishes.. sublime 💛

Starting 2024 with a BANG-bang cauliflower 💥
An understated favourite of O’s.

With the sweetness of our homemade sticky teriyaki sauce, a little kick from the fresh chilli, and the delicate crunch of the cauliflower.. I’m afraid there’s never any portions of this going spare! 😋
