💐 MEET THE PRODUCER 💐

Get a peek into the stunning flower garden at PembsPetals. The Peninsula Food Market is not only about food, it is about the amazing variety of local producers who inhabits the land of this beautiful Peninsula. Gill is one of them, as she has for the last 3 years grown her own flower business as a response to imported flowers that uses high inputs of energy and artificial fertilisers. As a horticulturist through 15 years she keeps asking the question - 'where do we get our produce from?' - which also led her to join the Peninsula Food Market the moment she started PembsPetals.
Besides selling her bouquets on the Peninsula Food Market, she supplies them regularly to homes and holiday lets on subscription, weddings, funerals and she also offers buckets of flowers so you can arrange your own bouquets!

Gill's favorite flowers are Roses, Sweet Peas, Dahlias and Peony. She cultivates these amongst an amazing range of other flowers, and she also uses the edges - the grasses, weeds and herbs surrounding her beds. She grows everything naturally completely free of chemicals, using local manure. Her 'style' is very much leaving things be - she lets the flowers self seed, and welcomes plants, that she didn't necessarily plan to grow. And it is buzzing with pollinators and life in her garden!

In the future Gill dreams about expanding and inviting more people onto the land, through offering workshops as well as 'pick your own'. Definitely something to be looking forward to!

As our Wedding Fair approaches, we're thrilled to announce that all proceeds from stall holders and generous donations on the day will be dedicated to a charity close to the hearts of farmers and all of us at Crug Glas - The DPJ Foundation.
This heartfelt initiative reflects our commitment to supporting the vital causes that matter most to our agricultural community. With everything that is happening to British farmers at the moment, it seems more important than ever to raise awareness for such an important charity.

It looks a fab few days for the show!!! I was very touched to have been asked to provide some flowers to demonstrate how local, seasonal flowers look. These have no floral foam (most florists are moving away from using the toxic stuff) All made on a natural base that is safe to leave in situ. No toxic chemicals used in the growing process either. Do drop me a line if I can help with farewell flowers. I can even run a workshop where we can make your farewell flowers for your loved one. A lovely process which I’m sure helps in a very tricky time.

I had the pleasure recently when I helped a lovely family make some Farewell Flowers. It really is an honour to be able to help people in their time of need. We made a lovely very fitting topper for a lady who appreciated nature and flora. We picked and placed and chatted about the lovely Nana and we were even joined by the lady’s great Granddaughter who enjoyed the process too! All flowers grown by me without the use of chemicals and in a sustainable way. The base was made of willow and no nasty floral foam was used, so this can be left in situ without harming the environment. I even made some sustainable lettering too. Just let me know if I can help with flowers for occasions x

I love having pictures sent to me from the ‘newly wedded’ couple!!
We spend so long chatting flowers over quite some time, I feel I build up a lovely relationship with everyone and actually feel so sad that I won’t be talking flowery stuff anymore as my job is done!!
