Floral decoration for the ‘Licence to Heal: Ace III’ event at Iconic Images Gallery Piccadilly. The event organizer wanted to add some colours to the otherwise plain environment of marble and metal at the venue. Considering the minimalistic setting of Iconic Images Gallery, I decided to use different shades of pinks and oranges. These colours are vibrant but not overpowering, blending in perfectly with the surroundings. I created a series of hanging arrangements with clean and sleek silhouettes that complement the clean lines of the venue interior. These arrangements are hung along the railings of the mezzanine floor, visually connecting the two floors and creating an impression of a holistic extended space. It also maximises the floor space allowing guests to freely mingle among the photo exhibition and entertainment.

Been eagerly waiting for summer to come, but it’s already passed the summer solstice and the days are getting shorter again. I haven’t had a chance to enjoy a real summer day in a summer dress yet. 😭 So, to capture the essence of summer, I created this hand-tied bouquet with a handmade birch twig structure. It resembles a trellis adorned with beautiful summer flowers like Centranthus Ruber, Buddleja Davidii, and Lavatera Rosea and Spray Roses.

For this piece I have used Phalaenopsis orchids, the signature flower of the East, but I have arranged them in a contemporary and sculptural way. I have created two tower structures with pink birch twigs and adorned them with cascading Phalaenopsis orchids and curvy Strelitzia leaves that are dried and painted in gold. The arrangement is then completed with Lisianthus, Viburnum Roseum, and Clematis at different depths and heights. This sculptural floral arrangement is a harmonious fusion of vibrant colours and exudes a strong sense of rhythm and dynamics, which perfectly matches the vibe of the event.

In this arrangement, I have created a structure of origami papier-mâché hoops and boards coated with red paint. To complement the dynamic rhythm of curves in the structure, I have chosen Anthurium, Butterfly Ranunculuses, and dried Strelitzia leaves painted in gold.
It’s part of my floral design series for the event, which also includes six flower accessories and bouquets for the @peonypavilionofficial Qipao catwalk, as well as a few small arrangements in the room (the last photo of this post). I have used origami papers throughout the series to give it a familiarly Asian, yet fresh and new look.
