RUSTIC DANCE - Robert Koenig
"Rustic Dance was carved at Stirchley Grange, Telford in 1986, using local fallen timber. The piece was exhibited that year at the Stoke Garden Festival.
It shows a group of over-life-size roughly hewn wood figures, locked in a frantic ritualistic dance full of a desperate energy. Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring' was an inspiration for these figures.
