Less than a week now until this wonderful event in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall. (Admission at door - no tickets necessary).

Pollokshaws Burgh Hall has a tower, it has a ballroom and it has a famous, mighty Wurlitzer. There is therefore no reason why we cannot recreate the atmosphere of Blackpool's famous terpsichorean palace, right here in Glasgow. Join Gordon Cree for a 'Pop-Up Ballroom' with Scotland's only functioning mighty Wurlitzer for an afternoon of ballroom, Latin, sequence and old-time dancing. Sunday 22nd October from 1.30pm until 4.00pm. Admission (at the door on the day) is £6 per person, which includes unlimited tea, coffee, biscuits etc. (and possibly some more luxurious treats...)
All proceeds in aid of the preservation and maintenance of the organ.

Sadly, due to a fault with my Yamaha EL700 that engineers are not getting to the bottom of at the moment, I’m having to temporarily suspend the “Pop-Up Ballroom” events until further notice. Hopefully a resolution or replacement will be found in due course. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting these at Glasgow, Falkirk and Boroughbridge, and we will hopefully all be dancing together again soon. Gordon

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Falkirk Trinity Church Hall today at 2pm for the Pop-Up Ballroom. For one event only, we will be dancing to recorded music (due to musical equipment failure) and the price is reduced to £4 to take this into account. All will be back to normal from April onwards. See you there!

Owing to instrument problems, the Pop-Up Ballroom at Trinity Church, Falkirk on Monday 21st March may have to be danced to pre-recorded music (in which case the price will be amended accordingly). This will depend on getting an emergency repair. The event at St. John's-Renfield Church Hall, Glasgow on Wednesday 23rd March has been cancelled until April (all being well). Sorry for any inconvenience.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen musical instrument problems, the Wednesday tea dance at St. John's-Renfield Church on 23d March has had to be cancelled. It will hopefully be back in action from April. Falkirk Trinity Church Hall on Monday 21st will go ahead as planned, but potentially with recorded music (price will be amended accordingly in this instance). Apologies for any inconvenience.

Due to organ failure (I'm trying levity to mask my frustration...) I will no longer be playing for the Sequence Tea Dance at Barley Mow village hall tomorrow (although the event, thankfully, is still able to go ahead without me).
Please keep your eye on this page with regards to the Pop-Up Ballroom in Falkirk and Glasgow next week while I try to find a remedy for the technical problem.

Sorry not to be releasing forthcoming tea dance dates yet. With things being a little uncertain due to the current situation, I’m just keeping an eye on things for the moment and dates for 2022 (with any luck from February) will be released in due course. Thanks for keeping an interest.

Thank you to the unexpected - and, frankly, amazing - number of people who turned up at the first tea dance today in Glasgow: as many as I could have hoped for, and certainly a great deal more than I had feared. It was also a bonus that they were all so lovely, friendly, appreciative (and no slouches in the dancing department). Thank you. See you in Falkirk on the last Monday, Boroughbridge (North Yorkshire) on the last Tuesday and Kelvindale again on the last Wednesday of October. Gordon
