It’s National Funeral Celebrants Day today and I saw this posted on British Institute of Funeral Directors and there are no words I can add as this sums up everything I feel both personally and professionally.

It’s World Celebrant week so I thought I would shout out loud and proud for the Celebrant community.

I’m an Independent Celebrant which means I create and deliver all types of ceremonies wedding, vow renewal and funeral. There are no restrictions apart from your imagination. I love all things wedding, I watch cheesy hallmark films and really enjoy getting to know my couples and their back story. My favourite weddings are those that want to include children or family pets in their ceremony.

My funeral style is to celebrate the life of our guest of honour in a way that is fitting for them and their family. I try to bring a sense of their personality and style to the service I provide.

Having a celebrant led service be that wedding or funeral allows you to have a ceremony that is reflective of personalities and in a place that is meaningful to you. Did you know you could add enhancements to your ceremony. You can incorporate Unity candles, ring warming, handtying, cocktail blending, calling to the four elements, prayers, placing of flowers into a vase, musical or video tributes to name just a view, the list is endless.

How do you feel about this option? I suppose it could replace a burial at sea which is not for the faint at heart to arrange.

Water cremation, or resomation, is an end of life option that includes water instead of flame and is considered greener than other methods.
