For us all who have loved and lost . 💋

This year, I learned that grief and gratitude can coexist.
That I can feel my heart crack down the middle and be thankful for the pain because it means that I've lived fully and loved deeply-that I didn't hide from life but instead chose to pour my whole self into the act of beautiful, hard, messy living.

I learned that I can love the life I have now while still taking time to grieve the paths I didn't walk.
The lives I didn't get to live.
The people who are no longer traveling this path beside me.
The visions of a future I once had that can no longer be.

I learned that so many times in life, we don't know that the last time we do something is going to be the last. That it often sneaks up on us unexpectedly. And that while we can't prevent the lasts, we can love what we have now while it's still here just a little bit more.

This year, I learned that my heart can handle so much more than I ever gave it credit for.
That it's soft but mighty
That it's far stronger than I ever realized-stronger than I even know now. And while I sometimes wish it didn't have to be so strong, I'm grateful for this beating heart for always reminding me that I'm still here.
Still breathing.

I'm grateful for its gentle wisdom and soft nudges. And most of all, I'm grateful that in the joy and the pain, the hope and the heartache - it knows love.

Today started with a lovely intimate interment of ashes ceremony for a much loved mum Clandon Wood Followed by a very well attended service for a vibrant and colourful lady at Guildford Crematorium Godalming Funeral Service

There's something rather special about spending time with a person and getting to know them before they die.A lovely lady contacted me after learning she had a terminal illness . After many cups of tea and lunches she became my friend, we talked about her final wishes and what she wanted her service to look like . We got it right ! It was sad to say goodbye to her, but lovely to know she had everything she wanted. ❤️

'Thank you once again Rachael. I received many lovely comments about the service and how you conducted it. You were exactly the right person and Ann knew it. Sorry that there was no cake at the celebration- what an awful omission on my part.'

The best wedding ever! Couldn’t have been more ‘you!’

As soon as we decided to get married the easiest decision to make was who we had to have as our celebrant. We wanted a quirky, off-beat wedding that was a real celebration of us as a couple. We didn’t want a solemn formal uptight affair… which is a good job!

From giving us guidance on our vows, to helping us select the music Rachel understood us perfectly. She made the whole ceremony so relaxed and fun and joyful, which was perfect for us… she coped with nerves, tears and giggles, a giant squirrel and an inflatable dinosaur!

There is no one else in the world who could have made our special day so perfect. Thank you Rachel ###
