WOW! the last 2 days, I have had a whirlwind show case at one of Londons top event planners' Christmas show! Yes, planning Christmas in July has to be done, but I had so many amazing conversations about events for the whole year! From everything from Christmas parties, office openings, charity events, cruise ships, and spa clients to team building creativity!

As part of a nod to South African heritage, Ashley's mum brought back home hundreds of these beaded zulu coasters. The coasters were used as part of their table decorations, so we incorporated it into the painting too in replace of the sun! All little reminders of the day ❤️
Ashdown Phillips 20-year anniversary celebration.
I learnt a lot about Ashdown Phillips that night, not what they do...I'm not 100% on that 🤣 but I learnt how a couple built it from scratch 20years ago, that they are so highly regarded by their employees, that the vibe amongst the team was energised and respectful, that each office felt a connection to their offices (each canvas represented London, Manchester or Pippingford) and that as a group there was pride in this anniversary.
As a lasting memento of this achievement and night, they decided to create 3 paintings. Representing their buildings, the ones they manage, the woods and deer surrounding the head office (also symbolising growth), and the transition of time represented by the passing of night to day.
It was a joy to be involved.
Event planner
Katie & Jack devoted their painting to the stunning venue and their loved dog Gaia. The vibe - colourful spring! The result - gorgeous! A real statement piece of art celebrating their day.

I loved working with the guests at Emily & Daves wedding last week. We played with adding textural areas & pattern to create their dedication to the place they met!
The couple also wed on a particularly windy day, so I love how the sky in the painting (which I had painted before) gives a nod to this!

I do, give me hand made, personalised imperfect perfect everyday. This isn't art that's mass produced or run through a computer. I create each design for up, by hand, using tracing paper, a pen & my imagination - then your guests add their marks though texture & pattern.

We LOVE summer outdoorsy weddings! Whilst we can and do often go inside...if your guests are out, so are we!
I love it when your beloved pets get involved! Sometimes it's a starring role, sometimes it's sneaky sideline. Either way, it's a great way to include them in your wedding! I can either make the painting all about them that your guests paint or I can paint them in.
My next wedding, coming soon, includes the couples gorgeous pooch...I look forward to showing it off 😁
So 2024 has started off well! Make Your Mark Events
This week, I had the fantastic opportunity to attend the in Birmingham! An inspiring event to champion, support & inspire small businesses!
So far on my journey with Make Your Mark Events I have loved every second of enabling your guests to paint together, inspiring beautiful canvases, creating art with soul & meaning, allowing generations to make their mark on something special. Art on walls that has depth, a story & love.
I really don't know what the plan for the future for MYME is, but I'm doing my best to gather as much expertise as possible to decide. If it grows, how it should grow and also how to support art as a job for others too. It's come so far in a few years, but I'm not one to rest on my laurels.
Yesterday there was such fab inspiring chats from Susan (I'll definitely be checking it out), 3 wonderful entrepreneurs on the Natwest panel and the endering who I hadn't realised really is pioneering the support for small businesses she feels passionate about.

The fabulous Emily & Chris wed at Gate St Venue last September... and I never shared their finished piece! ...in fact there's a few I never got round to. They are beautiful...its me, not you! ❤️
This canvas actually went on to being framed in black and looked stunning!

Freehand florals can be the slightly more challenging and trusting option, but boy, do they turn out stunning!
I put the base in of the painting and start adding in flowers. Your guests are then invited to add more. I'll have inspiration photos, simple flower patterns to guide, a practice sketchbook available, and am on hand to help guests add simple one brush flowers as well as more detailed ones. After the session, it'll come back to my studio, and I'll add more flowers around your guests ones to fill the space.

2024 wedding calls are well under way and I get to chat all things arty and weddingy with you! On these calls - you may well see one of these guys pop up! With the best intention they stay out of shot, my son Cedar even army crawled past me the other day! However I found it too funny not to share! My little family, my rocks and impromptu background entertainment! And this is even without mentioning Paddy the dog!

I recently read an interior trends report for 2024. Now I don't pay these any attention, but I like to be nosey! Of course, there were lots of these floating around, but one I saw put IMPERFECT as its 3rd trend.
This was explained as a draw towards the less mass produced, the hand crafted, the unique, the worn, the tactile, the organic. It embraces Wabi Sabi (which I love), meaning the appreciation of beauty though the imperfect, transience and incomplete.
It's one thing I embrace is that when we create a Your Guest Canvas, we are not looking for your sections to be perfect masterpieces. We are looking for you to create your mark in your own unique way. Your hand, your marks! That's why everyone can be involved even if you don't think your "arty".
Collectively, these come together to create something beautiful. Beautiful not due to its perfection, but beautiful due to its imperfections.

Family played a huge importance in this couples day, with not only their kids painting but symbols on the painting itself to represent them.
The scene took us from night to day. The family love looking at the stars together and being in nature so these passions were represented, plus their birth flowers were painted in by me beforehand.

But Amy & Rory, left me the most fabulous review today and were so kind and generous on their day (I went home with my own walnut whips, a fave of mine they'd read on a post!) ...that I decided to pull my finger out 🤣
Wed at the gorgeous on the Isle of Wight! This disney loving couple dedicated their canvas to Disneys tree of life with red squirrels running through. Red squirrels are indigenous to the island and therefore a nod to the venue. Autumnal colours and a watery colour style background set off this piece!

I first met Paige and James at a @gatestreetvenue open day before Christmas last year. And on Saturday it was an absolute pleasure to welcome a Your Guest Canvas to their wedding! . I love Paige's expression here . I love that the mother of the groom was banned from my social media so she didn't find out what the canvas was. . I love how excited she was to finally see it. .
