Well I’m so excited, it’s been a while in the making, but we are nearly there now, and it’s almost time to open the doors on our new venture.

The Maltings, in the lovely town of Clun, Shropshire, is such a beautiful and historic building, with lovely nooks and cosy corners to relax and unwind. I still can’t quite believe my luck that I have the opportunity to take on this amazing cafe. (Obviously I’ll still be doing McCartneys livestock canteen, as I love it there, and the Hillside Kitchen is still open for business too!)

Please do come and join us this Saturday (8th Feb) our first day open at The Maltings! We will be giving away coffees/teas and sweet and savoury treats to all who pop in to say hi!

I made 2 dozen of these this morning to sell at Knighton Livestock Market canteen. They were soon snapped up!

By far my favourite job this last week!
A boxed lunch buffet (savoury and sweet with special dietary requests) delivered to a lovely bunch of people planting trees in Lloyney in memory of their colleague.

Sarah at Nevil Road designs has done an amazing job making new covers for my sofa! I absolutely love them!

We made this cute Afternoon Tea Box today for a lovely couple staying at Wigwam Holidays Knighton.

If you have holiday accommodation and would like us to deliver to your customers, just drop us a message.

The Hillside Kitchen Afternoon Tea box includes tea sandwiches: Cheddar cheese and homemade chutney, smoked salmon and cream cheese, home-baked ham and mustard mayo, egg mayonnaise and cucumber.

Bite-size homemade sausage rolls and mini quiches.

Freshly baked farmhouse scones with preserve and clotted cream.

Selection of small cakes and treats usually: mini Victoria sponge, mini lemon drizzle cake, Viennese Whirls, blackcurrant sundaes, and brownies.

We make and bake everything ourselves and our sandwiches are made on tasty Welsh bakery bread.

Really excited! Wegnalls Farm Butchery is selling some of our Millionaires Shortbread in their pop up shop tomorrow.
Wegnalls is a super butchers, we use them for the sausage meat in our sausage rolls (and we buy lots of other tasty meats from them too!)
