Georgina and Conor, beautiful couple, a beautiful venue I am very familiar with. Conducting a wedding at the place I got married was a real honour. These two are both police people and I felt very privileged to be the conduit for two people who have jobs that make us all safer. 👰🏻🤵🏻♥️👮‍♀️👮‍♂️🚨

The UK Government has had the power to give legal recognition to humanist marriages in England and Wales since 2013, but has failed to act. Meanwhile, humanist marriages are the most popular form of belief-based wedding in Scotland; the fastest-growing type in Northern Ireland; and legal across the Channel Islands too.

Clearly, the time for legal recognition in England and Wales is now.

This Thursday, MPs will be attending an important debate on this issue in Parliament. This is an important step forward and milestone in our campaign. If you support humanist marriages, then please write/tweet to your MP today, and ask them to speak out in favour of legally recognised humanist marriages.

"We've had so many people say how beautiful, genuine and fun the ceremony was. Lots of our guests said it's the best they've been to, which is amazing to hear as we definitely agree! You brought so much positive energy to the whole process - not just on the day, which really contributed to the extremely perfect day that it was. Thank you, wonderful celebrant!" - Carla June 28th

Funerals can be difficult, my job is to support the family through this process with empathy and understanding, and to take away as much stress as possible from the family.

My humanist funerals are a true reflection of the person who has died. A non-religious ceremony that focuses on the life the person has led, rather than a particular faith they may have had. Humanist funerals follow a similar structure as a religious funeral, with readings, music and eulogies, but can also involve dancing, singing and shared stories and memories.

Religion is so arrogant. It offers many people support and yet at the same time judges so harshly who should receive it.

Be a humanist. I mean, you can still eat chocolate at Easter to just celebrate spring, and still have presents at Christmas to celebrate tradition and spend time with the fam. But you don’t have to judge anyone for not believing the same things or believe that a beardyman in the sky can make you burn eternally in hell if you are jealous of your neighbours house, nick something or do anything on a Sunday that isn’t Holy.

You do promise to leave the world a better place than when you found it but between Levi, having a F**k Trump keyring for 4 years and Sochi, I reckon I’m ahead. Score.

I know I said you don’t have to judge anything but seriously, f**k the Catholic Church.

Throughout history ceremonies have been used to mark important events in peoples lives.

We celebrate life and joy in weddings and share our grief as an essential part of recovery in our funerals.

Humanist ceremonies are, by their very nature, personal celebrations of the individuals lives.

I feel privileged to become a humanist celebrant of both weddings and funerals.

To perform these ceremonies as a humanist celebrant, I honour the humanist concept that in this one life we have, it is essential that we live it well, and strive to leave the world a better place than we found it.

"Everything that has a beginning has an ending, if we can make peace with that, then all will be well"
