My name is Marie Hunter I am the founder of M Hunter & Associate Celebrants.
In 2016 my daughter Hannah suddenly passed away at the age of 18. As with lots of people, life wasnt easy at that time. Within weeks we lost my mother in law, Step mother, and two best friends. At first I dove into charity work, which I still do. However I felt I needed a vocation. I had the oppotunity to run a pub in the Lake district for a month.....then Covid 19 hit and a month became 2 years. During the lock downs my cousin died aged 33, because to the pandemic we had to obviously have a smaller service. I decided that I wanted to write and conduct the service myself. After the service the Funeral Director came up to me and asked 'was I a professional Celebrant?' I immediately said no but I had always wanted too be a wedding celebrant.
After returning home, I immediatly went on line and registered with the Academy of Professional Celebrants. That was in January 2021. Since then I have qualified as a Funeral Celebrant, Wedding Celebrant, I am Certified in Baby naming, Funeral arranging and am currently studing to be a Funeral Director.
This vocation has given me the ability to write services that are personal to each individual. Having lived through grief as well as joyfulness of presious moments of my life, I can understand how a persons emotions can behave in those weeks are after loosing a loved one, as well as the stresses of arranging a wedding, I truly belive that everyone deserves the most loving, respectful and unique service that we can give. It is our aim, to provide you with that service.

I would like to welcome Pippa Bachmann associate celebrant. Pippa decided to retrain as a funeral celebrant in 2021 after years in the care sector. Pippa had seen many family members die over the past six years, and she realised that becoming a trained celebrant would enable her to carry on caring for others at the hardest times of their lives. Her empathy, understanding and eye for detail is outstanding. Since Christmas 2021 Pippa has also trained as a Wedding celebrant and will be completing her Funeral arrangers course shortly. It is an honour to welcome Pippa to the company.

I am very pleased to introduce you to Samual Hickey our newest associate. Sam decided to leave the catering industry last year and retrain in celebrancy in early 2022. He will be completing APC Wedding Training sortly however Sam is currently available to conduct Funerals and Memorials.
