Roast Beef

It doesn't quiet feel like a Sunday without a roast dinner, and with it feeling more and more Autumnal it's feeling much more appropriate than in the middle of a hot hot summer.

We didn't quiet go for all the traditional trimmings, but with spiced roast potatoes, cheesey asparagus, buttered spinach and corn it was a surefire winner.

Smothered Pork Chops

You can't beat a decent pork chop! And these were twice as nice as they were coated in cajun spices before being smothered in a green pepper and onion gravy. The rice being perfect for mopping it all up😋😋😋

We're now on the final lap of a super busy summer, but a family holiday to Corfu allowed the recharging of batteries. Holidays mean eating good food, and plates of yum were devoured, both in and out. A huge porterhouse steak, with lots of things on sticks, was grilled over coals, proving to be a particular highlight, but also pastisada (corfiot ragu with pasta), bifteka (Greek burgers) and lots and lots of Greek salads, and grilled octopus with piles of sardines were also greedily consumed.

Our last night's dinner we were even joined by the most special of guests (see last picture).

Whilst summer is now waning, we're still busy as we head for autumn, and now taking bookings for the rest of the year, as well as next summer. Having a party and want to make sure your guests are fed well, as well as being well-fed, just drop us a line and we will help create a menu of yum for you!

Mexican Marvels

It's not just BBQ we do you know. With much of the south eastern parts of the US once being part of Mexico it's not surprise that Mexican food is a big part of the food scene and culture. We indulged over the weekend with a full spread of Loaded Nachos, as well as Cochinitas Pibil and Lime & Oregano Chicken for Tacos, as well as lots of trimmings.

Canape Crazy

Last week will probably turn out to be the busiest of the year, and it all went a bit canapé crazy!

We've massively expanded our canapés offering recently so it was great to see them being enjoyed by so many along side our usual surefire winners. The picture of the pork belly bites at the end don't really do them justice; you just had to stand by the door, with them sucking the crowd in, and whoosh, they were gone!

So whether you are having a corporate drinks reception, wedding or garden party make sure our canapés are part of your party plans!

Meat & Three spread

We helped to fuel a party last night by keeping everyone fed well and well fed. BBQ Chicken, succotash, slaw & potato salad kept the revellers going!

We've still got some spare dates in the diary if you want us to help keep y'all going too, or come and see us this Saturday 28th June to get your fix!

Sunday Feasting

A ridiculously busy week, with 8 events in 8 days, was rounded off with Mrs TSK inviting 30 people over for Sunday lunch to celebrate friends over from Georgia.

Of course, we pulled out all the stops and gave them a taste of home. Their children being Wingstop afficionados rated our buffalo wings as "really really good", the southern fried traditional sausage was "awesome" and under-rated dish, collard greens, "were lovely, better than a lot at home".

Couldn't agree more!

Totally exhausting but well worth all the effort. The last two days have been spent lying down in a darkened room!

Confirmation Celebration Feast

I managed to get a few snaps of this week's celebration feast as it was difficult to hold the hordes off for too long!

It was a table groaning with delights, and was all frankly delicious 😋

It was a chance to road test a few things that can be added to our main menu, such as the Shrimp Remoulade Cups, Not So Dirty Cajun rice and red pepper & Tomato Salad. It was all a great success, with our friends and family rolling out the door; well armed with Doggie Bags!

You can get your plate of yum! at our upcoming pop-up at bar, Mitcham Lane, Tooting on the Saturdat 31st May! DM TO BOOK YOUR TABLE!

Summer Kebabs

Usually I'm a slow and low kind of guy, but I felt like changing it up to hard and fast on the .uk - it's not really what the machine is designed for, but I was most impressed with the results.

Cubes of pork shoulder were marinated in garlic, thyme, oregano, lemon zest and juice, before being skewered with onions, whilst tender chicken thighs hung out with some cajun spices before adding some peppers to the party.

Both were delicious with Jersey Royal Potato & Celery salad, and a mixed salad soaked in a green goddess dressing!

We're looking busy for the summer, but we do still have spare dates in the diary if you are looking to entertain, as well as popping up on the last Saturday of the month

Malaysian Roast Chicken with slow cooked spicy green beans

The fam-a-lam had escaped to New York for the Easter holidays whilst I stayed at home to man the BBQ. they were welcomed home with a wholesome spiced roast chicken and slow cooked green beans.

I am not sure who needed it more, them or me after completing a full house of takeaway bingo whilst they were away!

Pan fried and baked sea bass

One of the delights of living in Tooting is the huge range of food shops that we have. One being easy access to a wet fish counter; ok it might not be top top quality that you get from some of the more upmarket places but they have great choice and allows you to get your fishy fix at a reasonable price.

A white pepper and cayenne pepper dredge gave these a cajuny feel and were served with braised leeks and peas, with broccoli and buttered potatoes. Nyom.

Smothered Pork Chops

These chops were a lovely alternative to a Sunday Roast. Bridging the gap for the need for something robust and wintry, but with a nod for the first signs of spring that we had over the weekend from the peppers.

The chops were seasoned and then browned before being smothered with the pan gravy and roasted. Served with rice, peas and luscious slow cooked green beans, made a sumptuous plate of yum.
