So it’s wedding planning season! It’s also about time I said a quick hello again!

I’m Dan and I’m that camera wielding guy making you look amazing on film.
I have been a full time photographer and videographer for 6 years now and created my dedicated wedding videography brand at the end of 2019.

It’s my aim on a wedding day to blend in, be discreet and capture those precious moments. The day is yours to enjoy to the fullest and I make sure that happens.

In my spare time I love getting outdoors as much as possible, whether that’s a woodland walk or an epic bike ride. That said, there’s something about the concrete jungle of a city I enjoy too.

So, tell me a bit more about yourselves, let me know your wedding plans and let’s go on this adventure together! 🎥

Pleased to finally share a little film using some material I have been sitting on for over a year.
I got together with awesome photographer friend Hemera Visuals for a styled shoot at The Osprey bothy, the latest build at the Loch Ken Eco Bothies.

It was great to work with the lovely Lucy and Thomas who modelled so naturally.
Blossom + Bloom provided the vibrant florals which definitely stand out on film!

Shoutout also goes to Andy at Bee360 for assistance and BTS content, as well as Richard from Galloway Activity Centre for allowing us to use the bothy and get out on the loch in the boat.

We reckon this makes a beautiful base for eloping in the Galloway Forest’s Dark Sky Park, what do you think? 😍

Wishing friends and clients a very happy festive season. Whatever your plans are and however you celebrate, I hope it’s an enjoyable time.

2022 really has been a year like no other, the busiest the wedding industry as a whole has experienced and I think we all deserve a bit of down time to relax and recharge.

I’ll be taking a much needed break from editing for a few days but will be cracking on with the remainder of 2022’s films in January.

Spreading some love and best wishes to all! ☺️🎄🎅🏼

Don’t Lynsey & Kevan look pretty amazing strolling about the hilltop at Laggan? Check out that veil waving about in the wind 😍

I do love any excuse for a road trip…so when Natalie & James reached out to ask if I’d travel all the way to the Cairngorms to film their wedding I had no hesitation in saying yes!

Glentruim Estate was their venue of choice, a bit of a hidden gem I must say, located in an already beautiful part of the world, complete with it’s own cute little chapel on site.

We were all so lucky to have some gorgeous golden hour light as we scampered up to the lookout 🙌🏻 here’s a little snippet of the day 😉

Been a little quiet on the social media front lately…currently very busy filming plenty of weddings for you lovely couples out there! 😊
A good few teasers and sneak peaks to come in the next wee while, woo hoo!
Anyone else in Scotland feeling a bit scunnered at the lack of decent summer weather until now?!
Late spring showed a bit of promise, so I’m having a wee throw back to Alastair & Naomi’s wedding at Friars Carse.
These pair were a really good sport, letting their love for the outdoors and adventuring shine through on their couple shoot 😎

Looking forward to filming at Dalswinton again this weekend.

My last visit was only a couple weeks ago for Caitlyn & Haig’s celebration who travelled, with pup Penny in tow, from Essex to their native Scotland, for what can be described as a homecoming wedding.

Well, what an adventure I had last weekend. After chatting with Juliette & Guillaume for two years over email, text and video call, they were finally able to travel (by car I must add!) all the way from southern France to Scotland for their secret elopement amongst the forests and hills in The Trossachs.

The couple had an emotional ceremony conducted by Aileen Watson (Ceremony Central) at the Little Fawn waterfall before hiking to the very highest point of Ben A'an to complete their vows and exchange rings.

Here's just a flavour of the day wrapped up in 77 seconds 😉

New Film • Nicola & Davie - GG’s Yard

Had a lot of fun filming this one last October at GG’s Yard. Something very atmospheric about the venue in Autumn time!
Here’s a little snippet to the opening sequence, link to the full film can be found in the bio.

And just like that, 2022 wedding season has begun!
Hot off the edit suite is this little teaser from Vikki & Ben’s wedding last week at Pratis Barns.
It’s crazy to think I first met these guys two and a half years ago and like many couples had been forced into postponement of their original wedding date.
However in that time it’s been great getting to know them both and also see the results of their hard work into creating all the details and unique touches for their dream barn wedding.
I had been following their Insta posts on various diy and upcycled decorations so to see it all come together was fantastic!
We also managed to get lucky with some sunlight during the couple shoot 😎

Just thought I’d take an opportunity to say hello to new followers and those recently engaged, congratulations! 💍

My name is Dan and I love making cinematic films for adventurous couples on their wedding day.
What do I mean by adventurous you might ask? Couples who aren’t afraid to be a little bit daring, go against the grain and make their day unique and individual to them.

In my spare time I delve into personal photography projects, often shooting on 35mm film, enjoy bike rides and being outdoors venturing into the wilderness.
You can find me enjoying listening to podcasts and a rather varied mix of music.
Those that know me will know I am a sucker for a good brew ☕️ vanilla chai is a favourite!

Now I’d love to hear more about you, drop a comment below! 👇🏻

Rounding out 2021 which for sure has been a year like no other for weddings.
Just prior to Christmas I had the pleasure of filming the wedding of Shona & Noah at Auchen Castle, nestled in the Moffat Hills.
A day which was truly unique to them with surprises and heartfelt words.
One beautiful moment was a reading by Noah's grandfather who mentioned that this was probably the best moment of his life. I do love readings which are eloquently spoken and from the heart.
A perfect way to complete 2021!

“There’s a King for every castle, a Queen for every throne, so baby take my hand let’s make this house our home.” 🏰

Louise & Ian love discovering pockets of Scotland’s history, castles and fortresses in particular. It seemed fitting that, on their wedding day, they were so determined to take a hike up to Castlelaw Hill, where once stood an Iron Age fort amongst the Pentland Hills.

The blustery conditions were a challenge to work in but certainly added some beautiful motion to an already dramatic setting.hogg.716

The excitement, the anticipation, the trepidation even, of writing your own vows, secretly from your other half, then reading them at the wedding ceremony.

I do love when couples make this element of the ceremony individual to them and filming those reactions and emotions as they unfold.

Abbie & David’s vows were heartfelt, honest and humorous all at once.

Let me know in the comments if you plan on writing your own vows!

Hey everyone! 👋🏼

Just a quick note about delivery of wedding films. As many of you can imagine it has been incredibly busy getting back into the swing of things since larger weddings were allowed again in June.

Being out filming on a weekly basis means delivery times on films will be a little longer than expected and are currently around 8 weeks after wedding dates.

Another challenge currently being faced with is the global shortage of microchips which is affecting normal availability of USB drives.

Quality and high standards of deliverable material is of utmost importance so please be assured a little extra waiting time will all be worth it ☺️
