My last visit was only a couple weeks ago for Caitlyn & Haig’s celebration who travelled, with pup Penny in tow, from Essex to their native Scotland, for what can be described as a homecoming wedding.

Hot off the edit suite is this little teaser from Vikki & Ben’s wedding last week at Pratis Barns.
It’s crazy to think I first met these guys two and a half years ago and like many couples had been forced into postponement of their original wedding date.
However in that time it’s been great getting to know them both and also see the results of their hard work into creating all the details and unique touches for their dream barn wedding.
I had been following their Insta posts on various diy and upcycled decorations so to see it all come together was fantastic!
We also managed to get lucky with some sunlight during the couple shoot 😎

Louise & Ian love discovering pockets of Scotland’s history, castles and fortresses in particular. It seemed fitting that, on their wedding day, they were so determined to take a hike up to Castlelaw Hill, where once stood an Iron Age fort amongst the Pentland Hills.
The blustery conditions were a challenge to work in but certainly added some beautiful motion to an already dramatic setting.

The excitement, the anticipation, the trepidation even, of writing your own vows, secretly from your other half, then reading them at the wedding ceremony.
I do love when couples make this element of the ceremony individual to them and filming those reactions and emotions as they unfold.
Abbie & David’s vows were heartfelt, honest and humorous all at once.

Guys, we finally got a golden hour this year! Sounds weird to say considering the recent heatwave (I’m actually glad I didn’t have a wedding in that heat! 🥵).
There have been little hints of golden hour but nothing like this until now.
It was a fitting opportunity to break out the vintage lenses for that tasty lens flare and film some epic golden footage with Karen & Dylan down by the Dalswinton loch.

Nikki & Andrew - what can I say…what a day that was!!
From having to scarper indoors due to a heavy shower literally seconds before the ceremony, then getting a moment of calm for a shoot on the hilltop (we can thank @hemeravisuals quick thinking on that one 😉).
The day threw a few wee curveballs (and a few surprises in the form of their fur baby Ollie turning up unexpectedly!) Everyone took the day in their stride, not least Nikki & Andrew themselves. Much love guys! ❤️

I am probably as far from a Star Wars fan as you’ll get but today (4th May) reminded me of a very funny moment from Bea & Gary’s wedding a few years back - which incidentally took place on the exact day.
Gary quietly told guests that everyone had been given a mask of a character from Star Wars on their seats and this was to be the surprise for their bride and groom entrance.
Safe to say everyone was a great sport and the gag was pulled off brilliantly!
