‼️We have news from Berkshire Event Catering HQ‼️

Not all news is good news and unfortunately, this is the case with this post.

In early January, Stuart was taken in to Intensive Care very, very – very - unwell.
It has a been a long 4 weeks but at last, Stuart is now showing signs of getting better and better as each day comes and is no longer ‘critical’ – YAY!

However, the future isn’t written and after talks with hospital consultants, we have had to make the difficult decision to close Berkshire Event Catering.

We hope you can understand that we have to prioritise Stuarts recovery in every way possible and catering for events is something that Stuart just can’t do whilst he concentrates on his health.

This does mean that we have lots of equipment that will be coming up for sale shortly, so please keep an eye on this page for information when we have it.

Finally, and the most important part - we’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of our staff who have been by our side over the years. You made Berkshire Event Catering what it was, and we will be forever grateful.

Such a busy month with so much going on in the background so apologies for not posting too much since early September.

We had such a wonderful wedding to cater for not too long ago… and who doesn’t love Afternoon Tea?
Many people believe that Afternoon Tea will leave your guests feeling a little peckish still.
Well - not when we do it!

We didn’t get too many pictures of the day but luckily Georgie snapped these!

Any one for a Ruby Murry?

Any good curry starts with a good home made curry paste which is exactly what we did when we made this chicken korma yesterday in Thatcham. This was our 4th year catering for this lovely family and their friends and this year they chose a corker!

The rice was seasoned with star anise and cardamon pods which beautifully complimented the chicken korma. All served with poppadoms and usual accompaniments. Lovely comments once again about our food, we really do love seeing all your smiling faces when your tucking in 🥰

On Thursday we did a High tea for a beautiful wedding in Milton Keynes.

We did 4 different types of sandwiches being coronation chicken, ham and mustard, cucumber, and smoked salmon with cream cheese. Followed by scones with clotted cream and jam and some home made tartlets. We had mini lemon meringues, chocolate panache with salted caramel and vanilla cream with a raspberry.

All went down very well with home made butterfly cakes.

Our team worked so hard in the lead up and during the event. Thank you all so much for making everything run so smoothly!

Another weekend another wedding! This time at the beautiful venue of Coombe Manor Barns, right below Coombe Jibbet Inkpen.

A lovely fresh bbq with 6oz cheeseburgers, the best quality pork sausages, chicken with many flavours and your usual vibrant salads. Of course the bride and groom looked stunning and we has a lovely day as always.

The couple also had owls turn up for their guests so obviously we had to have a hold. Teddy and Willow were absolutely beautiful, even if Willow did fall asleep (please excuse the state of Stuarts apron, you can see why we always have half a dozen on stand by for him 😁)

And the cherry on top, a little stop off at the Jibbet for a few photos. What beautiful country side we live in, we are so lucky.

What a wedding! Yesterday we were in the beautiful village of Boxford for the super chilled and laid back wedding of Lauren and Simon. We had a BBQ with all the usual accompaniments, salads and then dessert of salted caramel cheesecake and a fresh fruit salad. The evening was pizza which went down an absolute hit!

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments of our food. It really does make our day when we get great feedback 🥰

And with there being a playground on site, of course all the ladies had a play on the zip wire and a quick game of Frisby in-between courses. All in all, a fantastic day

Back in Chievely for the second year in a row for a corporate summer bash! We had 6oz burgers, the best sausages in the world, chicken thighs with tikka, sticky bbq and salt/pepper, halloumi cheese, and some lovely fresh salads.

And of course, cooled down with a lovely soft serve ice cream. What better way to finish the day?

We had a great day yesterday at the D-Day celebration in Kingsclere! We did a hog roast, burgers, jumbo hot dogs and bacon baps 😋

60 dentists walk into a bar.....

Well that's pretty much what happened on Sunday when we provided paella and ice cream for 60 dentists for their 44 year reunion! Chicken and Chorizo and vegetarian paella were on the menu along with crusty French stick with butter, mixed leaf salad with our in house whole grain mustard vinegarette.

And of course, who wouldn't love a mr whippy ice cream with sprinkles and sauces to finish things off?! Not us for sure 😁

Another year in the beautiful village of Pamber Green in Tadley for a yearly get together of friends far and wide! Our homemade basil oil went down a treat and was so fragrant.

Look at all these beautiful colours! We had the pleasure of catering for a family in Wimbledon yesterday, after a family wedding the day before. They decided they needed to take away the stress of cooking for the post wedding family get together so asked us to come and cook a lovely BBQ full of vibrant choices.

We had cheese burgers, beef kebabs, chicken with a lovely peri peri rub, along with some grilled halloumi cheese and garlic mushrooms. Of course this was all accompanied by some homemade slaw, spicy rice and tzatziki.

Once again another amazing evening providing a range of culinary delights!

Yesterday we catered for a special birthday and what a menu they created. We had some canapes which were smoked salmon with horse radish cream, avocado sundried tomato and home made tapinade, a reuben which is mustard cream cheese, pastrami and pickle, and goats cheese, homemade pesto and basil. I think The Reuben was the favourite of the night!

For mains we had Kleftiko, which is greek style lamb, slow cooked for 10 hours, peri peri chicken, fried onions and peppers, Mediterranean quiche and a whole aray of fresh salads, all made on site.

Of course you can't forget pudding! Our signature baked vanilla cheesecake with berry compote and lemon meringue pie, all washed down with a generous helping of cream.

There were so many smiley faces last night, including ours! We absolutely love what we do, and when our happiness is mirrored by our host, that alone makes it all worth while 🥰

Another busy weekend for the B.E.C crew!

Starting off the season with a bang!

Yesterday we catered for a 50th birthday party and omg what a start! Hog roast, homemade Boerewors which is a South African sausage flavoured with nutmeg, corriander and cloves and lots of lovely salads! Sorry didn't get many other photos as we were so busy!

Last night we were in Liphook in Hampshire for an 18th birthday party, showcasing our fabulous pizza menu! We had a great time as always and got to put some of our new pizzas to the test! The most popular had to be the Neapolitana, with a Bloody Mary base, parmesan cheese and a swirl of basil oil to finish, it did not disappoint!
