So, what actually is a Wedding Planner and what do they do?

A wedding planner is someone who will help you with the concept, design, planning and management of your wedding.

This can include anything from deciding the theme, to finding the perfect suppliers; a wedding planner can be there to assist you every step of the way. Essentially they will become a combination of your wedding PA and your new BFF!

Your wedding is one of the biggest experiences that you are likely to have in your life and you want to make sure that it’s done properly and that no details are overlooked- that’s why hiring an experienced planner is a great way to ensure that everything is taken care of.

I will do whatever it takes to give you the day of your dreams, meaning that you can relax and enjoy your planning, right through to when you kick your shoes of at the end of your wedding day; knowing that everything is in safe hands!

As a wedding planner, I’m probably not meant to say it, but… I absolutely adore a DIY wedding! They’re so much fun, everybody can chip in and help out and you can be sure that the wedding that you produce will be 100% unique to you!

But… have you thought about how you plan to set-up on the day, whilst you’re busy getting ready? Do you have someone on hand to ensure your carefully chosen suppliers know where they need to set-up? Wedding planning top tip number 5: Ask for help when you need it.

It’s easy to feel stressed when you’re planning a wedding- there’s a lot to think about and so much more to do! So, don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it and delegate tasks to your nearest and dearest. They're guaranteed to be more than happy to help create your wedding day- chances are they will be honoured to have been asked to be involved. Do keep in mind to choose your help wisely and be sure to play to people’s strengths!

And if you need some professional help, hire a wedding planner!

Engaging with a wedding planner as early in the planning process as possible will help your planning journey run smoothly, though they can help at any stage to support you where you need it.

They will help you avoid costly mistakes; help identify the best vendors to suit your budget and style and make sure that nothing is forgotten or left behind. Wedding planning top tip number 4: Take your time.

Planning a wedding is a big job!

It takes time and patience to find the right vendors, that fit your wedding vision and can work to your budget. So, give yourselves plenty of time to make the journey, to explore the options and create the perfect wedding day.

Please, please, please, don’t leave it all to the last minute!!! Tick off things as early on as you can, to help you feel more relaxed and organised closer to the day.

Wedding planning top tip number 3: Identify your priorities.

What aspects of your wedding are most important to you? Is it the ceremony? The flowers? Or having the best entertainment for your guests?
Try not to compromise on the things that mean the most, and don’t worry about the things that aren’t.

Above all else, be yourself!
It’s your wedding day after all and it’s all about you having the best day of your life.

So, stick to a handful of priorities to make sure you focus on what’s important to you both… which will also help you to stick to your budget too!

Wedding Planning Tip Number 2:

Make it personal and have fun!

Planning your wedding should be a fun and exciting experience, a time that should help you to grow as a couple and lay the foundations for a beautiful future. So, make sure that the journey and the destination reflect your individuality. There are so many opportunities to make wonderful memories on the lead up to your wedding- make sure you do it together, talk about your ideas and decide as a couple what works for you.

It’s great to take inspiration from photos and experiences to give you an idea of what you want, but add a bit of character and make it your own. It’s your day, so make sure it reflects your unique personality and have some fun!

If tradition isn’t your thing, then create your own! Incorporate as much of yourselves into your wedding as you can- at the end of the day it’s all about you, so enjoy yourselves and make the most of it!

So, for wedding planning top tip Number 1!

Before you begin, it’s a good idea to sit down with your partner and talk. Discuss your dreams, your ideas and your expectations. Decide together, what’s important to you both and what’s not.

Wedding planning can be a stressful experience (although it absolutely doesn’t have to be!), but it’s a whole lot easier when you get the ground work sorted early on.
And most importantly, remember to talk to each other!!!
