Did you know 💬 Nordic walking can lower blood pressure and resting heart rate while improving quality of life.

A review of 16 clinical trials found that Nordic walking improves oxygen uptake, blood pressure, exercise capacity, and HR at rest.

Even outperforming brisk walking in many areas! 🏆

It's a proven form of preventative health that fits into everyday life:

🦯 Easy to start
💜 Protective for the heart
💪 Helps with endurance
🙂 Boosts wellbeing

It’s also shown to improve life quality for people managing conditions like hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and coronary artery disease.

It’s only April and we’ve already witnessed fires on the moorlands this year.
The Moorlands are crispy dry due to the unusually warm weather.
Please be extra careful and extra vigilant when you’re out and about.

🔥 The risk of moorland fires in the Peak District is presently considered 'high' in this continuing dry spell. Should one break out the outcome could be devastating to wildlife and put firefighters in great danger!

🚒 If you see a fire in open country just now please report immediately to 999 with location.

📜Of course barbecues, disposable barbecues or any form of open fire and flame are already not permitted in the open countryside anywhere, at anytime, in the Peak District. Please avoid smoking on the moors too.

⛔ Should the fire risk reach exceptional levels then it's possible access to some 'Open Access' land may be restricted (as permitted under CRoW), so keep an eye out.

🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️Most of us know all this already of course, however our friends, families and work-mates may not, so pls spread the word!

What a great afternoon with Perhaps Contraption and OUTSIDE at Leek Butter and Trestle Market New.

A big 🙏🏽 to all the volunteers and organisers who helped make this happen from manning the stall, pulling together the festival programme, leading history walks to marshalling Perhaps Contraption and capturing the event in video and stills. Etc.. etc.. Brilliant.

See you at the walking festival folks.
