👨‍🍳GORKA Pop-Up - back for a second time, the ever-popular GORKA bring their steadfast passion for food to Bute from London, this time in a street-food format! 12-9.30pm

Calums Cabin - throughout the weekend we will be fundraising for local charity Calums Cabin, who provide holiday homes for children facing cancer. On market day, the charity will have their usual stall and there will be a chance to give donations at the bar. The bar has created a special Calums Cabin Cocktail too (pictured)!

KIDS ACTIVITIES - Ricky from Bright Nights Entertainment (pictured) will be keeping the kids happy with magic, dancing, games, balloon modelling, circus skills and much more!

We are bringing our market experience to life this month with a programme of live demos from some of Bute’s finest producers! Come and see how their products are made, hear about their story and maybe even try some samples!

11:00 – 11:30 Isle of Bute Smokehouse – Alister Mcfarlane

Alister is Bute Smokehouse’s head smoker, he will talk about the history of the Smokehouse, the smoking process and give a live slicing demo.

11:30 – 12:00 Macqueens Butcher Of Rothesay - David Macqueen

David will talk about the history of Macqueens, how it started and how David and Ronald took on the business from their dad.

12:00 – 12:30 Isle of Bute Distillery Scotland – Imogen Holland

Learn about the taste and flavours of Isle of Bute distillery with Imogen - head brewer and distiller.

Imogen will take you through the history of the distillery and talk about the process of each of our lovely locally distilled gins and take you through the flavours of our brewed beer (Bute Brew Co. ).

12:30 – 13:00 Handmade on Laundry Day - Peter Tuka

Peter will show how to make a plant terrarium from start to finish. How to prepare individual layers of soil, how to pick the right plants and how to achieve ideal levels of humidity before sealing it.

13:00 – 13:30 Isle of Bute Coffee Company – Mhairi Mackenzie

Mhairi will give an overview of speciality coffee, tell you all about Isle of Bute Coffee, and will finish off with a tasting challenge.

13:30 – 14:00 Isle of Bute Printmaker - Carol Nunan – Carol Nunan Printmaker

Carol will be demonstrating how she creates her work, the step-by-step processes involved, and show some prints and plates from her collection.

Cat is the Director of Bute Yard and is responsible for Bute Yard’s strategic direction.

Cat has lived overseas in Australia and NZ for 16 years, working in hospitality venues while completing a BA in English and Nutrition and Food Science. During this time she also worked for websites to write copy and research articles,

Cat returned home during Covid and stepped into the family business to help complete Bute Yard.

This 60-year-old Fordson Super Dexta tractor (pictured with Robert) has been driving through the outer Hebrides from Ullapool back to Rothesay on Bute, 6 ferries, 368 miles over 6 days! Robert is doing this to raise funds for 3 very deserving charities - Beatson Cancer Charity Calums Cabin and the British Heart Foundation - Scotland. 🚜Vintage Tractor Rally Gathering Sat 20th April, from 3pm at Bute Yard🚜

This Fordson Super Dexta tractor began her life on the Isle of Bute. She was sold by Robert's Dad Andy to the island in 1964 and remained on Bute until Robert (pictured) bought her and drove her off the island for the first time in December 2023.

In this, her 60th year, 60-year-old Robert will drive her through the outer Hebrides from Ullapool back to Rothesay on Bute, 6 ferries, 368 miles over 6 days! Robert is doing this to raise funds for 3 very deserving charities - Beatson Cancer Charity, Calums Cabin , British Heart Foundation - Scotland.

After the rally, there will be a gathering at Bute Yard from 3pm. Ambience Isle of Bute will be doing Pizza and the bar will open with all your favourites - so come down and celebrate this remarkable achievement with us!
