The wheel turns and Lammas arrives. A moment to reflect on the harvest around us. Celebrating the abundance the earth brings at this time. I have eaten my first blackberries this year and it always takes me back to my childhood where I would get in among the thorn to reach the juiciest blackberries, trying hard not to get prickled but accepting it when it came. Nature protecting her harvest with thorns.

Feeling gratitude for the journey that brings me here to this time and place in my life. For the moments easier and trickier over the year. Reflecting on my personal harvest and taking time to pause.

What are you harvesting at this beautiful time of year? I'm off to celebrate with kindred spirits and friends in my band .witch.project.music at the this weekend. Hoping to make new connections and friends.

Sending love to all ♥️🌾

I've been busy getting planning packs ready for my 2025 couples. They include lots of information to help them prepare for their special day and ideas for making handfasting cords, writing vows, a questionnaire and a Jar of Love for them to enjoy during quiet moments together.

I love these days to myself where I can plan, prepare and move myself forward. I'm looking forward to finding out how they are enjoyed.

Tomorrow I'm looking forward to my journey to before dipping down into Devon and Cornwall to visit friends and of course a dip in the sea! ☀️🙏

This is one of the first handfastings I ever did but such a special one with so many quirky ideas from Lottie and Jacko who have a background in theatre.

We welcomed the elements with an archer in the East to summon air, a fire dancer shown here summoning fire in the South, a beautiful song summoning water in the West and muddy handprints connecting to the Earth element in the North.

Their house rabbit bought the rings and the whole occasion was magical ♥️🌈☀️

The benefits of a rainy July! Thunder, lightning, the sound of rain falling on the roof, this beautiful double rainbow over the skies of Hadleigh and a lush, green garden ❤️🌈⚡☀️

Looking forward to a week with two ceremonies and back to this weekend where I last was at my very first handfasting for Lottie and Jacko. It feels full circle and shows me how far I've come.

This is also the first year of my business where next year is already filling up with dates for weddings ❤️

Holding ceremonies in circles is very special. Everyone holding hands to start proceedings instantly brings everyone together and creates connection. Everyone is part of the ceremony and every person can see every other person's face as the ceremony unfolds. The circle is the universal symbol unity, infinity, and perfection due to its symmetrical and continuous nature. What a beautiful way to hold a ceremony so easy to create in an outdoor space ♥️☀️🌈

🌹This weekend last year I was busy holding a handfasting ceremony for Justin and Tania to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. A beautiful couple still very much in love after all those years together.

🌹The ceremony took place in one of the cottages overlooking the river.

🌹They renewed their vows over the Oathing Stone they'd had made to celebrate their anniversary.

🌹Themes of burgundy and green with this beautiful altar and the matching handfasting cords they had made themselves.

🌹Such a beautiful day ❤️ Congratulations on your 26th wedding anniversary Tania and Justin ❤️

♥️ The first kiss! Such a poignant moment in ceremony when couples have said their vows and exchanged rings.

♥️ I encourage couples to write their own vows so this is a wonderful moment of deep sharing and you can see the love and joy on each person's face as they hear what their partner has to say.

♥️ Some couples write vows together and some each write their own and keep it as a surprise on the day.

♥️ What were your wedding vows or what would you want to say to your partner?

A beautiful weekend at the Magic Teapot gathering celebrating Beltane. I love a festival. Music, people, lots of talking. This was a magical intimate gathering with community wicker man building, maypole dancing, sharing stories and music. I also got to see some of my favourite bands, and . This is why festival and outdoor weddings are my favourite kinds to be involved in. So much love 💕

🌿 I went on a beautiful Beltane walk this morning. The smell of life lays heavy in the air as everything begins to spring forward into life and we welcome the beginning of this time of summer. The hawthorn blossom with it's heady scent is in full bloom bringing a smile to my face. The oak leaves are some of the last to unfurl clustered among the catkins.

🔥At this time when the world is most alive, a time of high fertility it is time to jump to Beltane fire, Beltane roughly translated as bright fire and fire the purifier jumped over as a way of casting off the darkness and celebrating the light. Casting off our old selves and jumping into a summer of joy and abundance.

☀️ Old hearth fire would have been extinguished and new ones lit. Communities coming together and spend the night celebrating and partying through the night. Celebrating the sacred fire central to life.

🎻 This weekend of I'm off to the Magic Teapot Gathering in Somerset to celebrate Beltane, playing music, dancing round the Maypole and jumping the Beltane fire. I hear there might be a wicker man!

In my other role as Funeral Celebrant Returning to Earth yesterday facilitating the Hadleigh Death Cafe Cobblers Cafe and Wine bar we were joined by BBC Look East.

It was great to have Jane O'Riordan End of Life Doula there to support me.

So good to have lively conversations about loss, death, dying, grief, dementia, funerals, advance planning, community and of course lots of tea and cake and some laughing

See the 26/4 episode active until tonight. We start around minute 12 😍

A bit about me as a celebrant and how I work 😍☀️🌿🌈💚🎸🎻

I am an alterrnative celebrant, specialising in outdoor festival style weddings, handfastings, and pagan weddings.

I work with couples to create magical ceremonies, held in a Circle so everyone is included. My ceremonies are linked to the earth and the elements. I encourage couples to call the elements and ancestors into circle and to consecrate rings (if wanted) using the elements. I also encourage couples to make their own cords and write their own vows.

Being relaxed and fun-loving myself, my big passion is working with couples who are aiming for a relaxed feel to their wedding. I love couples who are alternative (or just being themselves) In their lifestyle choices, clothing and aspirations. I love to celebrate love in all it's forms. it is not about who loves, but how they love. Anything goes.

I bring couples lifestyle and the things they love into their ceremony. We celebrate all that is unique about them, Telling Thier story and creating unique rituals which celebrate their love. I have had archers, fire dancers, musicians and pet dogs and rabbits as part of my ceremonies. I also like to include family and friends in ceremony so everyone celebrates and is part their special day.

My Life -
In my own life, I'm a nature, community and festival lover. I love travelling to new places, meeting new people and playing my violin with my folk band, Bear Witch Project. (Sometimes my music and weddings mix and we play after the ceremony).

Thanks to for the beautiful photos 💚

I've been writing a ceremony where one half of the couple is Dutch. I always like to try and find ways to make ceremonies unique or to find a personal touch, so I loved finding out that the wishing tree is a big tradition at Dutch weddings.

Ribbons or tags can be left next to a tree for guests to write a message of love and good wishes for the couple and their future. They are then attached to the tree making a beautiful gift for the couple to take away with them. As the ribbons blow in the wind the messages are sent out into the world to begin a couples journey with love and blessings.

I also really enjoy seeing these trees at sacred sites like Avebury. I've seen them at barrows, stone circles and ancient trees. When they are next to wells they are called a clootie tree. From the ancient Celtic tradition this sacred tree where people can write their wishes on a clootie and hang them to a branch to make a wish.

More about me

I trained with the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants in 2019 after being a teacher for many years and working with many families to support their children. I also work as a Forest School Leader and am a lover of nature and the outdoors.

More recently I have joined the Association of Independent Celebrants. They work hard to champion and to support celebrants enabling people to have choice in the type of ceremony they would like to have. I love Celebration of Life ceremonies which can be held in any venue of your choosing. Indoors or outdoors.

As an independent celebrant, my ceremonies have no religious leaning which means you are free to choose your own aspects of ceremony, be it spiritual, modern, green, alternative or more traditional.

What type of ceremony would you like to have and is this something you have spoken to your family about? I'd love to hear your thoughts ❤️

Before and after! Getting ready to jump the broom and then a beautiful kiss after they've jumped. So much fun, a few nerves because all your guests are watching you but afterwards so emotional as you have stepped over the threshold into your new lives together, leaving the old behind.

Some couples even find their own wood from a meaningful tree and make their own broom or besom. They also decorate it with the colours they've chosen because of their significance for their special day.

I love the expressions and emotions in these pictures of Ben and Athene. And of course so much love ♥️♥️♥️

I love this couple's creativity when it came to creating their wedding vibe . Almost everything was home made and sourced locally or second hand. Lisa and Rachel spent hours making bunting, home-made confetti and props for the day. The barn is stunning, the colours are striking and it all looks so beautiful ❤️
