MEG AND PATRICK 🐝

Just back from their joy-filled wedding with this sneaky peak of a fabulously timed confetti dip kiss.💃

These are two BEST friends who met in Manchester Uni and sprinkled their wedding with the symbol of Manchester - worker bees.🐝

They trusted me to write and deliver their ceremony without seeing it beforehand, and If that doesn’t add a little pop of adrenaline to a celebrant’s day, I don’t know what does! 😅

The magnificent venue was FILLED with the most glorious flowers by and their guests brought the love and the laughter.🌸

The stars themselves were just as wonderful as they had been through the whole planning process.

FEELING FRAZZLED?
Wedding planning CAN be an exciting, fun, and a real bonding experience.
The word doing all the heavy-lifting there, though is *can* 🏋️‍♀️
It CAN be all those things, but it is often stressful, relentless and it can tap into all those insecurities that we had pushed deep deep down! 🥺
If you're feeling the wedding planning strain - you're not alone, but before you feel like calling the whole thing off, take a breath.
Have a night or three off from the planning 🌃
Do something fun and remember why you like each other in the first place! 🥰
Working with a celebrant is also a brilliant way to connect with each other and remember all those funny stories, reasons you fell in love and perhaps most importantly of all, it can help you to start thinking all of all the things you can do once the bloody wedding planning is over! 😂😘

What is a ring warming? 💫

⭐️ One of the key moments in almost every wedding ceremony is the exchange of rings

⭐️ It’s always a great point in the ceremony where the heartfelt can mix with the downright hilarious

⭐️ I’ve had rings that just won’t go on the finger, rings that have bounced across a wooden floor and even a deafening fire alarm right in the middle of that magical moment!

But all that aside…!

⭐️ One really beautiful addition to your ceremony is a ring warming.

⭐️ Here, I send your rings out amongst your guests, your special people, and those shiny circles are placed in a little bag like in the last picture here.

⭐️ They are passed from person to person, giving everyone the chance to add their blessings, good wishes, and take a moment to warm your rings with their love.

⭐️ So your rings are imbued with all the good vibes your guests can muster and are transformed into something much more than cold rings of metal and ready to be placed where they belong.

Bringing back the excitement 🤩

At some point in the wedding planning process every couple hits THE WALL!

This is the point when you’re sick of the endless decisions, can’t face another Pinterest board and you almost forget why you’re doing this in the first place!

Throughout the planning of their wedding S&R often told me how much focusing on their ceremony and their story with me revamped their excitement and certainty about each other.

Writing their ceremony and working with them was an absolute delight and their wedding was a gorgeous new beginning for these positive and fun loving souls.

Their New Years Eve wedding was a golden celebration of love and with all the excitement of a new year and a new start. All the love and lots of buzz! ⭐️

THE RIGHT MIX ⭐️

⭐️ Cathy and Andrew’s wedding back in August was a perfect balance of tradition and twist.

⭐️ Being Scottish, Cathy knew she wanted to weave her background into the day and the ceremony was no exception.

⭐️ They wanted a handfasting and their gorgeous pooch involved - both of which were music to my ears and as the piper accompanied Cathy’s entrance, there can’t have been a dry eye in the house.

⭐️ There were giggles and kisses and knots tied with tartan and a ceremony that spoke of their lives together so far.

⭐️ Breaking and making traditions is what a celebrant wedding is all about.

PICTURE PERFECT 🤩

⭐️ Earlier this month, Madison and Troy married and these images are STUNNING!

⭐️ True high school sweethearts, they tied the knot a whopping eleven years after they got together.

⭐️ Their ceremony was filled with their closest family and friends and told their story.

⭐️ They included ‘Your Eyes’ one of my wedding readings, which was written especially for couples who met as teenagers.

⭐️ They wanted their day to be crafted to fit them and judging by these images, they did that while looking FABULOUS ✨

THIS TIP MIGHT SAVE YOUR WEDDING ⭐️

Lol - how about that for clickbait on this last day of World Celebrants Week! 😆

⭐️ But actually this tip is a REALLY big deal and it’s so easy to do.

⭐️ If one of you is going to be waiting at the top of the aisle for your partner’s entrance…

⭐️ At some point before your wedding day, decide together WHEN you will turn and look at them.

⭐️ Because the journey up the aisle, seeing your partner’s reaction and the beaming, tearful smile you pictured in your mind,

⭐️ might not happen if someone told them ‘you’re not allowed to turn and look until right at the very end’ (it happens, people do ‘give helpful advice like that).

⭐️ One of the jobs I have as your celebrant is to check with you what you’ve decided and give you the nod of when to look.

⭐️ or you can arrive together, look at your partner’s arrival the whole way, or meet each other at the top of the aisle.

⭐️ That’s the joy of celebrant weddings: The choice is yours!! ⭐️

CELEBRANT INSPIRATION 💫

There are lots to choose from because celebrants are bloody fantastic ⭐️

Here are two that have inspired me:

⭐️ Jas is a truly beautiful and dedicated celebrant. Meeting up with Jas is always a real joy. The work she puts into her ceremonies is so clear (not to mention her cheeky sense of humour, her curiosity and her warmth). Please do look at some of the amazing ceremonies she conducts.

⭐️ Zena from I’ve only met fleetingly on a celebrant training zoom session she ran. Her words to a celebrant just starting out (that was me btw!) gave me such a sense of calm and confidence- I’m also now a Humanist Celebrant thanks in part to celebrants like Zena.

I can’t go without saying a huge thank you to the biggest celebrant cheerleaders of all .c.johnson and of the . Superstars!

On Day 4 of World Celebrant Week. The question ‘What is my celebrant superpower?’ It’s a tricky one.

⭐️ If I’m being honest, anything I try and think of sounds a bit glib and not quite right.

WHAT DO I LOVE? 💫

It’s day 3 of world celebrant week so what do I love about my job?

⭐️ I love it when I meet a couple for the first time and I see the look of excitement and reassurance on their faces when I tell them how their wedding ceremony can actually feel like it represents THEM.

⭐️ I love it when I hear the stories, how you met, the ridiculous first date, the proposals then didn’t go as planned, the sneaky and wise match-making friends.

⭐️ I love it when I hear all the reasons why you love each other, the long and lyrical declarations and the heart-stoppingly frank ‘I just love her. I always will’.

⭐️ I love the writing process. The crafting and building a ceremony that makes my cheeks tingle as I type.

⭐️ I love the feedback I get from you when you have read the script and tell me that it has brought you back to remembereing what this wedding is all about.

⭐️ I love preparing for the day, packing my bags, my sound system, microphones, script, tissues, safety pins, the constant checking of the weather apps!

⭐️ I love the ceremony. The sight of you coming down the aisle or waiting nervously… it never fails to make my heart thud with joy.

⭐️ I love the laughter of your guests, the happy tears, the crackling electricity of your vows.

So… that’s why I love it. All of it!

⭐️ They reflect YOU as a couple and as individuals. Nothing is cut and pasted or selected from a list of equally unappealing options. Each ceremony is written COMPLETELY for you!

⭐️ They can be at any location that’s right for you. The ceremony shown here was in a very special paddock with lots of family connections and memories and was the most perfect place for a huge celebration.

⭐️ They give you, your friends and your family a chance to start the day with laughter, proper heart-warming ‘awwww’ moments and all the tingles, as you tie the knot YOUR way.

It’s World Celebrants Week! So on day 1, the task is ‘Introduce yourself’. Here goes…

⭐️ I’m Claire and I’m a wedding celebrant based in Nottingham.

⭐️ I can often be found on TikTok so go check me out there too!

⭐️ I’m from Liverpool originally and learned to swim in the Mersey. Not recommended but did the job!

⭐️ I love a bit of a disco, so any excuse and I’m on the dance floor.

⭐️ I am trying to be more and more environmentally sustainable in life and in my work, so any tips and ideas are always welcome.

⭐️ I have two kids, a cat and a dog and in my previous life I was an academic, but there was nowhere near enough excuse for creativity and joy. Being a celebrant on the other hand…!

THE ETERNAL YES ✨

The wonderful Savannah and Gabe met at a Hallowe’en party - hastily introduced by wise friends who knew they might just be perfect for each other ✨

Their ceremony, back in August, at the breathtaking , was written and designed with their stories and values at its heart and the magic, laughter and bubbling excitement filled those stunning Medieval arches ✨

So, even though the weather outside is gloomy, and the nights are pushing their way into daytimes, Sav and Gabe, I hope these AMAZING images will bring a little warm glow and a huge smile ✨

I don't know about you, but I’m a compulsive reader of reviews when I'm committing to almost everything!

Off to see a film? I'm hitting Rotten Tomatoes 🍅
Buying a book? Off I go to Good Reads 📚
Considering a clothes steamer? Off I dance to Which 🤷‍♀️

You get the picture 😅

So when people are deciding whether to trust me with their actual wedding ceremony, I do not take this lightly. It's a big decision.

So, Google reviews like this (from B&N, the most brilliant couple) are wonderful.

First and foremost, it's just such a relief to hear that I did what I set out to do, and give two fantastic people a ceremony that they loved.

It's especially important to me that my ceremonies are inclusive and supportive. It's probably the main goal of my work.

But reviews like this also help couples who are ALREADY juggling about a million decisions about their wedding, and hopefully make life and making all those choices a bit easier.

So a HUGE thankyou for everyone who leaves a review. You make this celebrant's heart melt with gratitude, and for review-scanners like me, it's a great help!

PHEW! ✨

What a week! Lots of meetings with couples planning their December weddings and new couples at the very start of their wedding planning, writing ceremonies, putting final touches to upcoming ceremonies and trying to keep on top of social media (haha this does not happen and I am at peace with that 😆).

I’m lucky to be busy and to be working with the most brilliant, open and fascinating couples ❤️

Today, after I’ve done a couple of emails, I’m sneaking off to the cinema - my happy place, on my own, with a bag of popcorn. Bliss!

The heart of the party ❤️🪩

Katie and Kieran’s day yesterday was filled with so much laughter and love over in the stunningly serene

They had DIYed so much of it and the results were breathtaking 🤩

Their story, of two young loves who stayed the distance, was truly magical and their joint love of electronic dance music goes to show…
