E & M - Holywell Hall -Summer 2023

We transformed the beautiful main staircase at Holywell Hall with a design that felt both intricate yet impactful, through the combination of dainty floral varieties and impressive scale; using a wide array of delicate flowers including butterfly ranunculus, cosmos, sweetpeas, waxflower, vibernum, phlox, limonium, and a vast selection of seasonal foliage too.

We respect the privacy of our clients where requested, and to be able to share just part of their wedding florals we created is an absolute honour.

It was a pleasure working with to bring this vision to life.

The planners and couples I work with value creatives, and artistry.

They tend to surround themselves with artisanal suppliers for their big celebrations, because they understand the importance of the visual. They understand how stimulating our senses just makes those memories even richer.

I cannot stress enough the impact of wedding floral design. Flowers are this amazing tool, which I can use to tie together and unify your whole aesthetic.

But it’s not only the amazing visuals that they provide. The fleeting beauty of flowers also brings a full-bodied, heightened sense of the now - that ‘seize the day’ glory - to encourage you to capture every moment of this wonderful, glorious celebration.

Flowers also offer up their beautiful scent, and scent memory is the strongest of them all! The sunny garden smell of tea roses will forever remind you of the moment you buried your nose in your bouquet. A fragrant lavender bush humming with bees will transport you back to the warm scent of your groom’s buttonhole as you crushed it in an embrace...

For me, a new and heightened appreciation of nature, and the beauty of the outside world, was hard-won.

The shifting world of 2020 drove my intensified relationship with nature. I realised a heartfelt need to be immersed in the outdoors, and to let my hands speak freely in a language of creativity.

Dreamboats & Carousels was born to reinvigorate, ground, and inspire me.

Even as I embarked on my first training course, I knew I was in love. I found joy and creative freedom in this otherwise bleak time. Although my love of flowers and floristry arrived later in life, I treat them as an art form, in the same way I view drawing and painting. I’ve always been creative; I could draw before I could write! So I suppose it was a natural progression.

The world needs art, and artists. Designing art with flowers is so hard, but so rewarding. I am so proud and honoured to bring floral dreams to life.

When my clients go big, they REALLY go big. We create industry leading floral designs; abundant but delicate, and always intricate no matter the scale.

The epitome of Dreamboats & Carousels floristry is well-designed, colourful, organic, fun, free, untamed playful beauty - designed to support the innate, magical nature of your wedding.

To my clients, and the incredible planners I work with, investing in the beauty of their day is a way of heightening the joy and exuberance of the whole experience. They want me to take their initial ideas and vision, and create something even better than they had envisioned, weaving unique, abundant and immersive florals into the overall wedding narrative.

I love using floral design to enhance the magic of a wedding. Both aesthetically and through the power of scent, flowers further the sense of immersive beauty and awe, and contribute to the couple’s, and their guests’, incredible memories of the day.

For me, using a natural product means I should design with nature, not against it. So heavily inspired by natural beauty and proportions, I avoid tight shapes and structured arrangements, to create effortless-looking designs. The perfect conjunction of wild nature and carefully considered beauty.

Lots of my couples choose to celebrate their wedding through a weekend-long affair, prioritising abundant floral story-telling and carefully curated guest experiences, and H & A were no exception!

The privilege of being chosen to create the floral designs for all of our couples for their most important and memorable celebrations is never a role taken lightly. That feeling of honour and the acknowledgement of the magnitude of these celebrations, and how essential my designs become in the curation of these ‘greatest moments’, is incredibly powerful.

That being said, there is a special additional gravity added to my role when a couple chooses us AND they work within the high-end wedding world themselves. It is the absolute cherry on top.

Harry and Annie gave me immense creative freedom, and for that I am so grateful. They had a vision for the overall wedding aesthetic, but allowed my ideas for cascading outdoor displays and immersive room designs to come to life, and their reaction to seeing their floral creations was a real ‘core memory’ moment for me and Dreamboats and Carousels!

The wedding consisted of a small church ceremony and intimate dinner on the Friday, and a larger ceremony and celebrations on the Saturday. There is a great deal to share from this beautiful wedding weekend; here is just a flavour of what we created on their second day:

Welcome to a new era of Dreamboats and Carousels…

Today I officially launch the reintroduction to my brand, sharing a little more of what we’ve been creating this year and the evolved direction of our work.

It has been a labour of love and one of intention and great dedication over the past 12 months. I am so proud of the authentic identity we have grown into, and I’ve never felt more aligned to our discerning clients we attract.

Our website has received a full transformation including beautiful new visuals, and a copy that so eloquently and authentically articulates my approach to floral design, and the work I am passionate about creating.

As we’ve evolved I’ve already been fortunate enough to attract the kind of projects that light me up creatively, and have helped solidify the direction and type of work I was born to create: immersive and intuitive, transformative and magical.

Now more than ever I will be selective with the bookings we take on. I am not a florist, but a floral designer, and with this strong identity comes the passion and desire to create new and exciting concepts, designs and installations with impact, with the drive to create natural works of art for the most incredible events.

My heart and soul has gone into this evolution of D & C, I hope you’ll join me on this next chapter.

In some ways this is a new era, but in others, this is the release and uncovering of something which has always been in me.

As a foam-free floral designer, sustainability is a key value we champion. We love to incorporate British flowers within our designs, we create with sustainable mechanics and techniques, and we recycle and reuse materials and tools where possible.

Keythorpe Hall is known for its superb gastronomic experience with a backbone in sustainability. All food is locally sourced and prepared on site, and the venue grows an array of flower varieties in their grounds. We were lucky enough to design using solely Keythorpe Hall flowers for this event back in May.

Every flower thoughtfully placed; through considered design and an overarching artistic vision. Beauty portrayed in each individual stem, but also as one collective beauty. It’s why I will always adore seeing the details, the close-ups, the snapshot of a particular area that is part of something bigger. Art in isolation and in union.

Delicious details from ‘Keythorpe Hall in Spring’. It was a first for us to have the opportunity to create a full event floral design using not only solely British-grown blooms, but flowers grown and cut from the venue’s grounds.

The vivid table designs consisted of a colourful palette of ranunculus, sweet peas and tulips; with that vibrancy continued in the careful selection of linen, napkins, candles and even the dishes served.

B & A’s beautiful wedding ceremony back in July. A pastel explosion of roses, hydrangea, delphinium, astilbe, cosmos, and more; designed in a crescent shape engulfing the couple for their vows, with more floor meadows waiting for them at the top the aisle.

Proof that embracing colour (especially in a neutral setting) always wins! 🌸
