For me, a wedding starts on day one of the planning process and I consider it to be my responsibility to ensure that the entire journey is enjoyable and stress free; I think it's fair to say that this groom looks relaxed and at ease ahead of his wedding which took place earlier this year at . Amy, Gerard and myself spend a year together planning this day and I always knew that his favourite room at the venue was the library; hence we incorporated pre-wedding whiskies for the groom and his groomsmen ahead of the ceremony. Just one of the many little extra touches that I always try to incorporate to make the couple's wedding personal and bespoke.⠀

As I reflect on a very successful year for Ritzy Events, I am reminded of this lovely wedding from earlier in the year, where the groom waited by the entrance and accompanied his bride down the aisle. Such a lovely touch; I really do love it when couples break with convention, not just for the sake of it, but because they choose to do something that is more meaningful for them than the traditional approach. I am reminded today - as I plan another party for this client - of the wonderful testimonial she sent following the surprise 60th birthday party that we planned for her partner at on Park Lane, London. Busy day today... two venue visits with a new couple and then setting up this afternoon for tonight’s marquee party... on days like today a hearty breakfast is a must. Thank you Mill & Brew.. the truffled mushrooms on toast was delicious.... special shout out to chef Aiden!

Grand Entrance - think about your guests' first impressions when they arrive at your venue as this will set the scene for everything else that they see. Think about assigning some of your decor and styling budget to dressing the exterior. It really is important. At this stylish wedding in the City of London we added beautiful lanterns from hire which lined the entrance walkway; so many of the guests commented on what a beautiful and welcoming feature it created on their arrival. A question for you all: how do you feel about a more casual approach to your wedding meal with rustic wooden tables and no linen tablecloth?
Personally I think it can work wonderfully well - with careful styling and design you can still create the special day effect without the major formality that some couples are now steering away from.

The beautiful all set up and ready for the wedding ceremony. Those of you who know me will know that I am not a huge fan of chair covers, but in some circumstances when alternative chairs are just not an option, they are a necessity (here they were covering metal folding chairs!)... but the venue here speaks for itself.. it's absolutely stunning ... with or without seat covers! ⠀

Table Plans... I love a bit of creativity when it comes to a seating plan..... Flashback Friday to a table plan from a wedding back in April where guests had assembled from far and wide to join the happy couple on their wedding day, and this was encapsulated with tables named after the places they had come from or were connected with and showcased on a world map. I think you will agree that the result was very effective... and quite a talking point on the day.⠀
