Remember these Sweet Williams I was testing for vase life? 16 days and they are just starting to go over. Great value for money! đ°đ„łđ
Itâs exciting that my autumn sown annuals like the Snapdragons, Cornflowers, Salvia Viridis are starting to bud up! The Sweet Williams are on their way too, along with the Roses, Peonies and Lupins (must sort out the slugs - beer traps incoming!)
The roses in the front garden are wearing their chicken wire hats so that the local deer donât pay a visit and munch ALL the rosebuds like they did a few years ago! Once they start to flower, the deer donât seem as interested, but the buds are like sweeties for them - irresistible!
The roses I have are mainly David Austin varieties and itâs so hard to pick a favourite, but if pushed, it might just be Queen of Sweden đ But of course I love them all!

Busy old weekend, but so happy for the Spring sunshine! Harvested the last of the tulips, but the first of the ranunculus. Saying goodbye and thank you to my workhorse hellebores and hello to the spring perennials arriving on the scene, such as Aquilegia, Persicaria, Centaurea Montana, Bluebells and apple blossom, along with the zingy foliage of Physocarpus Darts Gold. Spring absolutely rocks đ«¶đ»
The Flower Bar will be open every Friday and Saturday from now until the first frosts in October, selling flowers grown organically at home by me.
Collect your flowers from SN14 7LF. You can post cash through the door or pay by bank transferđ·đđ·
I have flowers! These beauties went out yesterday:
* Mixed double tulips Peach Blossom and Verona
* Double narcissi Obdam
* Double tulip Showcase (these grew short, so went for half price) đ
Plenty more on the way, so DM me to order xx
Need a last minute gift? Do you have someone tricky to buy for this Christmas? Someone who has it all and you just donât know what to get them? My 2024 flower subscriptions could be the perfect answer and they are available to buy now!
My hand-tied bouquets are lovingly arranged so that you can pop them straight into a vase. I pick only the best my flower patch has to offer on that day, so each bouquet is unique and you are guaranteed something special every month.
I grow my flowers here in my paddock in North Wiltshire. Buying means you are supporting a local producer. Unlike supermarket and online bouquet delivery services, I grow my flowers organically and locally grown means no air miles
Super morning with these lovely ladies! Always amazes me how, given the same materials, each wreath turns out so completely different!
When youâre out delivering wreaths, and you pass some arborists at workâŠbe rude not to ask if you can help them to tidy up! I now have a boot full of yew to add to the materials for my upcoming workshops! đ„ł
EDIT: Now 3 places available
Iâve had a group of 4 cancel for Saturdayâs wreath workshop. Drop me a message if youâd like to come along and learn how to make a beautiful, natural wreath using the good âold fashionedâ methods - no plastic floral foam, but a willow base, garden twine and some gorgeous garden greenery.
Message me to book!
The Wreath Bar is all set up and ready for my first workshop of the Christmas season! Iâm so grateful to have generous neighbours with beautiful, established gardens - thank you for letting me snip away this morning xx Looking forward to more beautiful foliage from another wonderful neighbour, .ward, next week xx
To decorate the foliage, I have dried flowers and seed heads from my summer crop, along with dried fruit, hedgerow berries and velvet ribbon.

This year, for the first time, I have been drying some of my flowers. Every flower farmer seems to be doing it and thereâs clearly a market. The thing isâŠIâm just not sure that I like them!
I made this little wreath to test myself, intending to leave half of the willow wreath bare, as seems to be the trend. For simplicity, I used only Statice and Strawflowers, and I somehow found myself enjoying the process so much, I made a fully flowered one. I think I might like it
Even the teenage daughter, who is never backwards in coming forwards with an opinion, said she thought âitâs gorgeous!â High praise indeed!
So, Iâm going to make some more to help me decide. Prepare yourselves for a dried flower spamming and feel free to tell me if you like them or think they are just wreathed-up 1980âs potpourri! đ€·ââïž

The log burner will be roaring and the Christmas tunes playing. Join us for a fun day of creativity, in a beautiful rural setting.
Our Portuguese villa has such a nice garden. All plants that thrive in the dry heat and still look lovely. May have to take some inspiration home and create a little corner in my own garden.
Spent the afternoon with the wonderful Georgie , touring her flower farm. Learnt a lot and came away feeling inspired for next season. Main plan is to grow more foliage!!
This little lady has been staying with us while her Mummy and Daddy had a few days away. What fun weâve had fun with stones and soil and petals and water. Itâs the simple things đ„°

A spot of Sunday morning cutting for tomorrowâs bouquets. Absolutely glorious to feel the gentle rain when itâs been so hot and is still so muggy.
Anyone know what type of bee this is? Canât find anything like it on www.bumblebeeconservation.org
Todayâs bouquets are similar yet quite different. This is the beauty of buying from a grower as we will harvest whateverâs at its best on that day.
Pretty butterfly! Anyone know what it is?
Aaaaaaannnnddd relax! Holiday time đ„łâïžđđč
The baby boy has time on his hands now heâs finished his GCSEs and is big enough to use the petrol power toolsâŠMumma will keep him busy! đ„łđȘđ»đ„° Thanks ._ xx
What a great week! I have sent out my flowers for a wedding, a 40th birthday party, three gift bouquets, two subscription bouquets and four posies! Thatâs a lot of flowers for my little flower patch but I had plenty and loved being so busy! Please keep the orders coming, lovely people, I canât tell you how much I appreciate the support! đ

Iâve had lots of new followers recently so Iâd better tell you about myself. I am Tracey Goodall and I live in Wiltshire with my husband, two teenagers, two dogs, seven hens and three hives of bees! I have always loved my garden and this is the second year of growing and selling my flowers - a proper little business!
My floral arrangements are created with colour, scent, texture and movement, using the freshest flowers and the essence of an English cottage garden.
I grow sustainably and organically with every effort made to support the wildlife and help biodiversity. The flower paddock is teeming with pollinators in the summer monthsâŠwhen the woofs arenât charging about or an escaped hen enjoying a dust bath in the flowerbeds!
There are so many beautiful blooms in the flower patch this summer, so take a look at my website if youâd like to treat yourself or order a gift for someone else.

Practicing with a floral frog! I really like the way it holds each stem in place, even in a shallow container.
Such a lovely wedding at The Botanical Gardens in Bath this afternoon - congratulations to Sarah and Gus! It was small but beautiful and I hope their life together will be as happy as today xx
This was my first wedding floristry, so I canât pretend I wasnât a bit anxious, but I managed to get everything there in one piece, with no disasters, which was a relief. Also very touched at how many compliments my flowers received! The brief was âreally natural like theyâve come from Grannyâs garden!â
This was a confidence builder for sure, and Iâm looking forward to my next wedding in July when I should have lots of gorgeous roses!

Spring feels just around the corner and the thought of starting to sow seeds for this yearâs cutting garden is so exciting ⊠but hang fire! We need to wait for the daylight levels to return to at least 10 hours. An easy way to remember is to sow after Valentineâs Day. If you sow too early, you may still get some seeds to germinate, but the likelihood is they will be weak, and sickly little seedlings. By holding fire just another few weeks, your germination rates should be higher and the health and success of your seedlings will be much better.
People say âIâm just not very creative!â but with some gentle guidance, gorgeous local foliage and a happy atmosphere, they make a beautiful wreath to take home. Thank you @samantha_charlwood, @victoriabowes, @fiona1250, @mel_pritchard88, Nicola and Jen for coming here last night. And yes, we laughed a LOT!
Join me for some festive fun creating your own Christmas wreath. I will show you how to make a beautiful and sustainable wreath that is 100% compostable. I have cut willow from a friendâs garden and made 10â wreaths that Iâve wrapped in Cornish moss using natural twine. You will choose from a lovely variety of locally grown foliage to create your base, and then decorate with a selection of dried flowers and seed heads from my summer crops, hips, holly berries, dried fruits, feathers, pine cones and ribbon. I always love to see how people create. Each guest can choose from the same materials, but their wreaths will be completely unique! 6th and 13th December are now sold out, but you can message me to join the workshop on Sat 9th December, or email me at [email protected]
Gorgeous morning here in sunny Wiltshire! Some garden jobs to do this morning, then off to Dauntseyâs to watch my boy play rugby. Perfect day to be outside.
Review of 2023 - Summer This summer was quite challenging! July and August were unseasonably chilly and wet, meaning that whilst some plants thrived, others who need the warmth, really struggled. My dahlias were late coming in to flower which meant I was relying on the roses for beautiful statement blooms. Olivia Rose, Gertrude Jekyll and Queen of Sweden from @david_austin_roses have been incredible! This year has been my first foray into small scale wedding florals. Such a responsibility to provide beautiful flowers for a brideâs big day, and a bit nerve wracking! As I was growing the flowers, rather than just ordering them in, I became slightly obsessed by the weather forecasts, and there was plenty of pacing by the flowerbeds, imagining what would be perfect to pick on time. Iâm happy to say that all my brides said they were delighted with their bouquets and arrangements! Grateful to my son @ollygoodall._ for helping out with the strimming and mowing this summer! Pocket money well earned x My stalwart helper this year, and sole employee, @ollie_matthews01, has come rain or shine, arrived once a week after school to do the heavy lifting and shifting, the digging and weeding. Heâs an absolute gem of a teenager and will be an asset to any future employer. Thank you Ollie! #britishflowers #localflowers #buybritish #buylocal #castlecombe #wiltshire #wiltshireflorist #wiltshirelife
Frost is forecast for tonight and tomorrow night so the fleece will stay in place until Monday morning. Keeping my fingers crossed that this buys an extra couple of weeks to the growing season! đ€
The first frost of autumn is forecast tomorrow night, so despite feeling grotty with a cold, Iâve been out cutting all the dahlias in bloom. I will get the horticultural fleece over them tomorrow in the hope that I can keep them going a bit longer. Any kind of frost will kill off a dahlia plant in hours but Iâm crossing fingers that the fleece will protect them đ€
Donât grow something you donât like! You wonât use it in bouquets and it will stand there unloved and neglected. I donât feel too bad about this one though, as it was sent to me in error - certainly NOT the beautiful white with a tinge of lilac Wittem variety that I had actually ordered! I will lift the tubers at the end of next month, so let me know if you want it? xx
First bouquet of the season! Still very early for much to be ready for picking, but this pretty bouquet has hellebores, daffodils and foliage from my garden, along with Cornish tulips to really help brighten it up. Come on Spring, Iâm ready for you!
Spent the morning bottling up another batch of Castle Combe Honey to go to Yatton Keynell Village Store. Itâs on sale there now, so if youâre local, pop in and grab yourself a jar of absolute yumminess!
The flower patch is a tad damp this morning! Sieving out the floating tulip bulbs and hoping the anemones will survive their bath! đ€ŠđŒââïž
âSay it with flowersâ, they say, but what are you thinking? Happy birthday! Happy anniversary! I love you! Iâm sorry! Just because! There are so many reasons we gift each other beautiful flowers.
