A recent commission of an everlasting flower garland.
I used dried hops as a base and woven it with statice, strawflowers, oregano and craspedia to name a few.

Some say “if you have hops in your home you will never want and always have change in your pocket.” It’s perfectly suited to their beautiful cottage and so lovely to create a lasting arrangement.

Calling all ‘Brides-to-be’!

I grow beautiful, seasonal, organic flowers for weddings.

Opt for a package to suit your style; a fully styled approach, bouquets and buckets or DIY buckets of fresh flowers for you to get creative and arrange yourself.

I'm based in South Oxfordshire and travel for weddings across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire.

Go to www.theflowerartisan.co.uk/weddings to find out more or email [email protected] to discuss your wedding.

This weeks bouquets and subscription flower deliveries were everlasting flower bouquets. They really feel fitting of this time of year, still colourful but with so may textures to enjoy. They look beautiful in earthenware vases and can last many months if you look after them.
Unlike my fresh flowers I do post nationwide, carefully packaged of course. I also take bespoke orders if you have a wall or space you could like to decorate.

Seasonality and sustainability has always been at the core of my business ethos along with following organic principles. This is an ethos shared with the Hardwick Estate where I grow my flowers.

Over the last 2 years the land I grow on has been in conversion to organic status with the Soil Association. I am over the moon to share with you that it’s complete, and that you will be able to enjoy organic flowers from the start of the season in April.

As I am very small scale I couldn’t be doing this without the support of Hardwick, and Miriam in particular has driven this as it is important to her, so huge thanks to them.

It's important now more than ever to be looking after the planet, and farming organically without chemicals and pesticides protects the land, our wildlife and the environment. Win win.

One for our door, with help from Mia. We decided to call it the Tutti Frutti, a new edition for 2024 with lots of dried fruits, foliage, pine cones and feathers.

I will share some of the willow stars we’re going to make shortly.

As the season is slowly drawing to a close, I’m spending time reviewing this year and planning for next year.
What’s worked well, what I will do differently next year, new plants to grow.
I’ve also been sowing seeds, chitting corns and planting bulbs for winter flowers. It’s very much the start of the season.
Pics are:
1. An aerial view of my plot.
2. The dahlias I was cutting and deadheading this morning. They often take on a totally different colour hue as the weather cools.
3. Sweet pea seed sowing, todays task. I’m sewing lots of these for their pretty flowers, gorgeous scent and the tendrils which look amazing in arrangements.

As it feels like the season is slowly drawing to a close, I’m glad to have dried lots of lovely flowers for use over the winter months. From statice and strawflower to honesty and lovely textural grasses.

I use these for everlasting bouquets and wreaths and I can create something bespoke for you if you have a spot in your home or a special person you would like to gift.

I’m feeling the shift in season and it’s all rather soggy out there with the deluge of rain we’ve had recently. So between dodging the rain to cut flowers I’ve been sowing seeds for beautiful flowers for early summer.

I’ve had the honour of creating some beautiful floral tributes this week. It’s lovely to be able to include flowers with special memories and meaning.

These are a wreath and a sheaf of fresh flowers naturally arranged and with all natural materials so they are fully compostable.

Buckets of flowers for St John’s Church harvest festival displays. Loving the autumn colours and the amaranthus which is epic this year.

The dahlias did survive the chilly temps last week, now I’m hoping all is well with the thunderstorms!

K’s bridal bouquet was a beauty!
All creams, whites, touch of burgundy and lots of lovely foliage.

The cafe au lait finally decided to join the rest of the dahlia party just in time!

It’s due to get pretty chilly tonight and I’m really hoping I don’t see a frost at the field. I’m not ready to say bye bye to the flowers for this year especially with more of you signing up to a subscription over the last month.
I’ve tucked the dahlia up, not sure it’ll do much good but makes me feel like I’ve tried!
