A pat on the back to all that attended...

What a night and celebration. A show of solidarity and a rejection to those who hoard wealth... People are really struggling in this country. This event is another example of what COMMUNITY can achieve in order to support one and other in times of corporate greed and private interest.

This of course would not have been possible if it wasn't for all that donated, moshed, performed for free, volunteered for free, drank beer, donated art, sold art, crowd surfed, bought T-Shirts, fell over, donated clothes, donated food and partied together all in aid for a positive cause. Non-profit positive noise.

☠️ COST OF LIVING CHAOS ☠️

Super late appreciation post to all that made it and were a part of part 1 two weeks back!

Still can't quite believe what we pulled off. Was way more than I ever could have comprehended turn out and money wise. It all goes to show what can happen when people get together as a collective to share an experience, positive noise, and to support people in need in these fu**ed times. All through music.

A massive thanks to and their amazing staff on the evening and for providing the space for free... It couldn't have happened without it. This is what public spaces/venues in a community should be there to also promote. To support the local scene and people of the area it is based.

Big ups to all the bands that gave it their all and donated. Was an unreal line up.

*Yes, this will be an early one so please get down to see the opening act for 5pm. This was the only time slot Volks could provide with it being free! So big shouts to them for making this event possible and keeping costs to a minimum so all proceeds can go to charity!*

The wait has been worth it. What a smashing line up for a momentous occasion.

Please share the f**k out of this, tell yer gang, tell yer gran and tell yer cat and yer dog. A night of positive noise, heavy and energetic, fundraising for and ACORN Brighton Community Union] . These two charities are doing so much for people in need in these trying times so it is amazing to be raising money for them. The volks is a 300 cap. venue so even if just a third of the tickets are sold that will be £500 to charitable causes from people just getting together and having fun.

Pretty wholesome stuff...

On the evening there will also be a pop up clothes bank, food bank and a potential raffle of sorts, nuff said 👀 . . .

Please try and get there early as you can, doors will be from 4:30 with local BN1 heavy hitters bodybag opening. Not ones to be missed.

The response so far has been overwhelming considering the lack of information posted on this page. Excited to see you all there, talk about how to get involved and see where this thing can go in the future.

LOADING... FIRST EVENT TBA...

COST OF LIVING. NON-PROFIT POSITIVE NOISE.

Cost Of Living will be a non-profit events/promotional organisation; fundraising for people and charities in need, showcasing local and up-and-coming talent. Its aim is to raise awareness on topical issues, raising money at each event and showing support for local music/artists and independent music venues.

Punk music [I think] shouldn't just be making noise, which can be useful to spread ideas, open discourse or act as a form of escapism in challenging times. It should also aim to be inclusive and actively help those around us , attempting to rebuild communities in times of corporate greed and private interest. When It comes to the art/music world it is so evident now that everywhere you look independent venues are disappearing, narrowing access points in creative spheres, whether that is within education or the professional industry, isolating and excluding people based on income. It's a real shame and I hope by putting on these events we can bring people together to have fun and help others.

I'm super excited to see where this thing may lead to in the future. I have a great feeling about this already from people's generosity and enthusiasm so far speaking to friends, artists, bands and venues. Big s**t on those horizons. And yh I know, the name is genius what can I say.
