A lovely write up about one of our first party loans since re-opening. We are part of the Party Kit Network which is a network of like-minded party kit owners across the UK.

At your next party, swap paper plates and plastic cups which end up in landfill, instead hire a reusable party kit. As the comment shows, my kits usually come with lots of little extras to make your party look fab and run smoothly.

Hello, I hope you are keeping well in these strange times.

I’m so sad that parties are off the agenda at the moment and my little party offering is in storage 🙁 but I have been busy starting up a new little business Upcycle with Esie, making handmade home decor, gifts and trinkets from existing items. It’s fairly new so I’m growing the product range but the light up bottles have been doing really well, they make such a lovely gift for Christmas and can even be personalised.

Coronavirus Update

Following the news last night and subsequent cancelations of my daughters out of school clubs and activities I think it is time to suspend hires of my party kit. I am in discussion with existing bookings. Aside from these I feel it is best for the wellbeing of my customers and my family not to have the kits go out again until the clubs and activities start up.

However I am still taking bookings for summer and later in the year by which time hopefully we will all be partying again!

(No deposit required to make a booking so if these also need to be cancelled due to coronavirus you will not be out of pocket).

Remember, when you hire your party kit from us that we’ll do the washing up for you. We aim to provide a service that saves you as much time as possible.

March is just about full but we still have dates available in April so get your requests in early to secure your preferred date.

Love it or hate it, World Book Day is nearly upon us, and for any parent still looking for a costume here are some for ideas for easy, cheap, reusable costumes.

I’m currently making a ‘Unipiggle’ costume out of a pink pair of leggings, a cardigan and some felt for a mask and tail. A little bit of time required but luckily I have some of that presently, but no cost outlay and items can go back into the wardrobe afterwards. 😀 🐖 😀 🐷

New items to ease your party preparations.

We love cake at a party!

But the cardboard cupcake stands are often disposed of after a single use or are just too flimsy to use in the first place.

So we now offer a 23 cupcake stand and a 30cm x 9cm (12" x 3.5") white footed cake stand.

Whatever type of party you are hosting, your cake/s will look splendid on these!

They are also great value at just £1 each when hired alongside our children's party kits or our new afternoon tea sets.

Happy New Year’s Eve

If you are celebrating tonight, did you know you can send your corks to be recycled?

Bottles can go in your general recycling or like us you may be able to benefit your local community, we take all our glass to a local collection point where it generates money for my daughters school.

If you are taking down the decorations (ours will be up until the end) you can now send those pretty but pesky glittery cards to be recycled (details on image) or if you are creative, make gift tags for next year. My daughter will probably cover everything in glue when we attempt this in January!

And if you have foil aplenty from mince pies, chocolate or covering the turkey just give it a clean, roll in into a ball and it can go in your general recycling.

Anyway enough of the recycling tips, I wish you a fun filled end to 2019 however you are spending your day. 😀🎉🥂🥳

Make your own gingerbread.

As a thank you for helping us reach 100 followers I thought I would share my daughter’s favourite gingerbread recipe that we make every Christmas. It has a little less ginger but still has the flavours of Christmas, making it perfect for both young and older tastebuds.

If you make it, we hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:
350g plain flour, extra for dusting
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
100g softened butter, extra for greasing
175g soft brown sugar
1 beaten egg
4 tbsp golden syrup

How to make:
- preheat oven to 180 c, grease baking trays
- sift flour, spices and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl.
- add the butter and rub into flour until it resembles breadcrumbs
- stir in sugar
- add the beaten egg and golden syrup and mix to a smooth dough kneading with your hands
- roll out dough on lightly floured surface to about 5mm thick and cut into shapes
- transfer biscuits to baking trays
- bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes until golden brown
- remove from oven and allow to cool before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
- decorate with icing if desired and leave to set (we tend to leave ours plain as we just want to start eating them!)
