A few highlights from Chantal & Will’s fabulous March wedding at Rye Town Hall followed by an epic celebration at the fabulous

A walk through the historic cobbled streets before being transported to The Cherry Barn on vintage London buses.

Lush foliage and pops of ivory and burnt orange decorated throughout adding colour and fragrance in the barn where guests were treated to an incredible feast from and entertained with incredible music.

So it’s nearly the end of March and I’m asking myself, how did we get here already?!

The summer months are always busy with wonderful weddings and when I’m in full flower mode, I’m not great at posting what I’ve been up to.

However, finally getting a quiet moment tonight after flowering in Rye this weekend and I’m looking at this beautiful image of captured by taken at last summer.

I love this bouquet and I feel it’s that rare thing, a modern classic. Stems that dance and still lots of texture without being foliage heavy. It’s romantic and elegant.
Definitely a favourite.

Looking forward to making more of your floral memories this year!

Big love, Jo

“For Jenny”

A real pick n mix of a bouquet for Jenny. Loads of love for this bouquet and this capture by is just incredible!
When I’m creating a bouquet, and left to my own devices, I’ll use lots of different shapes and textures to give a relaxed, dreamy feel.
Early Summer flowers bring so much joy and I’ve loved seeing the trend shift to more colourful mixes this year.
For anyone wondering what goes into a bouquet like this…

Coral Charm peony
Marguerites
Dewi boy Delphiniums
Linda’s baby dahlia
Wizard of Oz dahlia
Scabiousa
Matricaria Camille
Pheonix roses
Panicum fountain grass
Ammi Graceland
Sweet peas
Alchemilla mollis
Flowering mint

Off the scale florals for Jo and Phil last July

Last summer was a bit nuts as seasons go but this was a real highlight.

Jo and Phill gave me a wide brief but were specific about one thing - colour!

I had fun with the brief using locally grown dinner plate dahlias and cosmos from my garden combined with a riot of textures including some of my faves such as gloriosa, gerbera, Eremurus, celosia and garden roses.

Amazing captures by .weddings and will you just look at that cake

Need a little colour boost?

This year I’ve seen a real uptake in colour.
It’s been so joyful and every make is different as the season changes.

Frankie and Will opted for a base of pink but requested a real mix to include purple, a hint of orange, white, lilac and a little yellow. The only musts were sweet peas and lavender to honour loved ones. It smelt divine too!

Stunning pics of Frankie, Will and their day by fabulous taken at woodland venue

Lauren & Sam had the best day at the ever beautiful

I’ve adored working with this gorgeous couple and their lovely families. It’s bittersweet when I kiss the flowers goodbye. A relationship borne out of conversations, meetings and emails about flowers. I truly believe that flowers can transform a space, inject colour and a vibe that is personal to you and will evoke memories for the years to come ✨

A huge thrill to be featured this weekend on British vogue!

When I first met with Rosie we chatted about fashion and her love of Vivienne Westwood and Joe’s love of the outdoors.

Foliage and organic designs were set from the start punctuated with seasonal, rich, moody toned florals.

I’ve loved working with Rosie and Joe, loved meeting their family and gorgeous friend who helped them to pull everything together and it was a privilege to flower both of their incredible days.

As a gift, I created a wall installation with twisted willow cut from my neighbours tree and cow parsley foraged from the hedgerows.

The willow was covered with leaves so it looked incredible fixed to the plain white wall and the cow parsley was simply arranged in tubs of water, concealed with inky muslin fabric.

A little snippet from Vogue below but you can read the whole of the article about all of the amazing details on British vogue.

“The florist Moody Blooms put beautiful seasonal flowers in vintage milk bottles along the tables.”

“On the day of the party their florist surprised the couple with offcuts from her neighbour’s twisted willow tree that she had been pruning that week. “She foraged for some moss and cow parsley in her nearby hedgerows and brought the whole lot with her to the venue to decorate the entrance space and bar area. We were so thrilled because we always hated the idea of wasting anything, but this felt like a lovely way of putting to use something that would have otherwise ended up in compost,” says Rosie.”

A little bit of foraging, divine Vivienne Westwood couture, ink and tartan drapes, vintage milk bottles and a whole lot of imagination and love for Rosie and Joe.

A truly gorgeous couple, it’s been a pleasure to work with them both on their intimate London wedding last July and then again to help with the decorations at their epic celebration party.

Cow parsley from the field and twisted willow from my neighbour’s tree were used to transform a bare white wall into an interesting, organic backdrop to the drinks reception.

Seasonal flowers in moody, rich tones including red charm peonies, ranunculus, larkspur, delphinium, craspedia and Fritterlaria were used to fill vintage milk bottles.

Stunning ink blue and tartan drapes installed by along with glitter balls which transformed a cavernous open space into separate spaces perfect for drinks, dining and dancing!

Big love to Rosie and Joe and all your wonderful family and friends. I’ve adored working with you 💘

🌻 A whole lot of Sunflower love for Georgie and Sam who chose beautiful jewel toned autumn colours for their glorious day at a local venue in Wrotham.

🌻A mix of small and large sunflowers were used throughout the designs, along with copper beech, Eremurus, pops of blue delphinium, clove snapdragons, hazel foliage, daisies, cornflowers and dahlia amongst many more. The mild weather allowed for a good deal of locally grown flowers too from my friends along the way at

🌻The bridesmaids bouquets were re-used for table centres along with simple brass bud vases.

🌻Statement floral columns were used for the ceremony and a series of meadow arrangements which were repositioned throughout the day. There was no waste either as all the flowers were gifted after the celebration.

🌻Styled by there were many wonderful touches such as gorgeous stationery and signage from , delicious naked cake from and beautiful table settings from .

The out of office is remaining on for a little while longer whilst I recharge and reflect on this fabulous year. It’s good to find a little time to catch up on some of the most beautiful photographs from wonderful weddings. Whilst it’s been full tilt, posting has had to take a back seat.

So here’s Beth & Tom at the fabulous from back in June.

Beth had a really clear vision for their day.
Clean, fresh and light florals in soft, delicate colours that would contrast well against the dark wood furniture and props supplied by

Beth also requested a big, voluptuous bouquet full of beautiful blooms. Dahlia, lisianthus and roses in a soft palette along with textured grasses and delicate foliage were all used in abundance.

The florals were all repurposed throughout the day by the amazing team
which ensures that the flower spend is also working hard throughout!

A big shout out to all the amazing photographers that capture all the magic and all the details, THANK YOU!

Generally my photos are a bit hit and miss! Usually by the end of a set up, I’m pretty much exhausted so it’s a joy to receive the professional shots.

I’m invested and connected to my couples, so I love to see these special moments.

Annie chose a loose, textured bouquet of warm toned flowers including cappuccino roses, chocolate cosmos, crocosmia seed heads, rudbeckia seed heads and cafe au lait dahlia finished with a green silk ribbon. I was thrilled to see Annie holding her bouquet in so many of the photos!

It’s my favourite style, loose, textured and abundant!

I echoed this look throughout with a mixture of dark green and clear bud vases for the guest tables and a mantle piece ceremony arrangement that doubled up for the top table.

Oh and can we just take a moment to appreciate THAT dress!!!! ✨✨✨

Anyway, here’s just a few from Annie and Rajiv’s beautiful day captured by whose work is just sublime.

Amidst homework, a sideboard cluttered with life admin and getting dinner on the go, yesterday I played with these beautiful peonies trying to catch their beauty in the gorgeous light.

Life is busy so it’s good to slow it down occasionally and breathe in the moment.

Ruffled petals that remind me of a swan’s feathers and aptly named “Mothers Choice”, all of a sudden they’re here and I’m astounded as ever by their incredible beauty.

Time stood still just for a moment as I looked and wondered, just how incredible life is.

Kirsty & Alex got in touch after 3 postponements and this wasn’t lost on me.

I hoped that I could, in my own way, offer them the kind of service that we all deserve.

Kirsty and Alex were receptive to my suggestions regarding changes to their original plan and allowed me creative freedom to change their designs in a way that I felt was beautiful and fitting for the season.

The most fabulous spring day with wonderful warm sunshine seemed so fitting and the lovely email that I received shortly afterwards makes my own angst worthwhile! I may have been doing this for a long time but I’m never one to just churn it out. The details will always be considered.

Good clients are so, so special and appreciated. A gorgeous thank you is also so wonderful!

So, here’s to my wonderful clients - thank you! And as much as you choose me, I think I also choose you! ###

“Jo, our flowers were everything and more! Everyone loved them. Thank you for being so helpful and going above and beyond to support us for, and on, our wedding day. You're so talented. We will recommend you in a heartbeat.”

Let’s talk about trust…

Flowers are the one thing you don’t get to see before your day.

I think this is what makes them so incredibly special.

If you want to pick your flowers out of a catalogue or ask me to make a carbon copy of something, I’m sorry to say I’m probably not your girl!

It’s so vital that this element is present in our working relationship. Trust me and I’ll give you my heart and soul. I’ll also give you the benefit of over 20 years of knowledge!

I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the wonderful clients and today it’s this beautiful lady, Ash.

A talented and beautiful soul who completely trusted me with the flowers for their wedding day.

Believe it or not, I still get nervous over work. The gravity of the day is something that’s not lost on me.

Like many, Ash & Joe had to change their original plans and decided to delay their original spring date to autumn the following year.

It was definitely worth the wait!

Caramel tones, shades of toffee, tonnes of texture, lush foliage, divine silk ribbons and touches of Autumn all brought to life their vision.

I loved all the details that the bride, Ash had considered. There were lots of elements that were handmade by the couple which always adds a wonderful personal touch.

She’s also the super creative genius behind the wonderful
and hand stitched all of the favours for her guests! All 81 of them!

A dream to work with and such a thrill to relive their day through these beautiful captures from .

I always love it when clients send me a picture from their day! This was just wonderful to receive.

Sarah got married on New Years Eve with her grown up daughters as her bridesmaids.

The brief was to keep it simple and elegant to work with a luxe feel. The n**e tones contrasted beautifully against Sarah’s elegantly simple white crepe dress.

Simple and classic elegance never, ever goes out of style.
I mean, just WOW! This is an absolute vibe!

Congratulations Sarah, wishing you all the very best x

New year, new light.

First week back - how was it for you?

Back to school and work here.

Lots of emails and inquiries to answer and I’m London bound for studio work this next few weeks. Some exciting projects to keep me busy!

Today I’m revelling in a Saturday lie in. Weekends are fairly frantic as a wedding florist so I’m making the most of taking my time today.

Enjoying the children, seriously good hot chocolate, the radio and tackling some of the jobs that have been put on the back burner are all on the agenda this weekend.

Whatever you’re doing, I hope you find that moment for you.

Solstice or the sun stands still.

Let’s celebrate the nights that will stretch out once more, leaving darker days behind us.

Today the sun sets at 3.59pm, the shortest day of the calendar year.

Traditionally this was the time that evergreen foliage would be foraged and brought into the house.

A wreath symbolising eternity could be made for the door and a fire lit to celebrate the warmth of the sun returning.

Light a candle, cosy on up and enjoy. Today is a day that always makes me feel optimistic.

Blink and it’ll be spring.

Happy Winter Solstice.

Yesterday felt bleak. Today I feel elated.
Images and words of gratitude are a perfect tonic to the fog of the weekend. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing this joyful picture with me.

“Where to start!

Jo at Moody Blooms is just wonderful! Our wedding was delayed due to Covid and Jo stuck with me through all of the date changes and styling changes that we went through over the extra year of planning.

Throughout all of this, she kept me calm about decisions and was so kind and thoughtful and most of all patient!

I didn't really know what to ask for when it came to flowers but knew that I wanted something a little different from the normal bridal bouquet. Jo absolutely nailed it and created a dark and
autumnal bouquet that suited
me and my wedding so perfectly. Cannot recommend highly enough!”

December.

Always a crazy, crazy month.

January still seems so far away and yet it’s just a matter of a few weeks. Where does the time go?

I love being busy but equally I like to be still and have time to reflect.

I’m still not quite at the point where I can daydream out of the window like this gorgeous picture but slowly, slowly I feel like I’m getting there…

A year like no other, there’s just a few more lovely jobs to do before I close my doors until the New Year.

A photo shoot for a spring campaign, a handful of wreaths to make, a lovely Christmas install at a favourite spot and then I’ll be closing my doors to enjoy some precious time with my family until the new year.

I hope that whatever is happening in your world right now, you also find time for a little reflection and balance.

And a little daydreaming is always good for the soul ✨
