Lunch was good today!

Homemade pumpkin soup with rehydrated and then crisped up hen of the woods/Maitake mushrooms, plus a few snips of three-cornered leek and a bit of grated parmesan.

Simps but wholesome!🎃🌱

I did share the wild focaccia bread bake on my story!

However I don't want to lose it as unlike on Instagram they can't be saved for future reference etc, so here it is again.😆

Focaccia bread with three-cornered leek, elfcups 🍄, mozzarella and some chilli flakes to really perk it up!

I added a pinecone honey glaze to the top for the last couple of minutes of baking time to cut through the savoury flavours with a teeny bit of sweetness.🌲

If you haven't tried a focaccia and new to baking I implore you to try. If you are less confident with foraging you can totes add in left over 'fridge gravel'. I did one years back with swede diced up small. 🙂👌

These pie dishes are from Sainsbury's (Habitat), and I've baked both a pie in them and these with success 🙌.

I do hope everyone is having a good weekend?

I'm just back today from the Cotswolds after being invited over to chat with the gorgeous Dionne on The Cotswold Tastes Show all things foraging, food and well-being through nature!🌱

I think the link below works, I dare not listen!😅

Thank-you so much for having me on!

Also, I booked in for the night to:

https://www.thesherbornenorthleach.com/

Located in beau Northleach and a stone's throw from the radio studio which was impeccable for a night away. A gorgeous pub and the three rooms above are all equipped with a roll top bath (in the bedrooms), and a separate bathroom/decent shower too?

Impeccable value for money, a super comfy bed and with decent tea/coffee machine/choc biscuits and high end toiletries/towel bathrobes for £99 a night. They haven't paid me to write this btw!😆

But for a night or two away in the Cotswolds I'd totally recommend. 💚

Hello!

Just hopping on here to do a quick yay and to share some fantastic news!!

I've been approved earlier on today for some much needed funding, for a delivery of foraging and other workshops/sessions for those that can hopefully benefit from it all... here in West Northamptonshire!! 😭✨️🌱💚🍄

Cried. Naturally! 🤣

Sometimes a lot of this self employed lark is wondering what the heck I am doing, and although I like to keep posts positive, sometimes behind the scenes important paperwork can be daunting.

But it's paid off today. Will do some more updates as it all comes together but yes! Tellus Mater is going to be delivering some sessions in the local community, fully funded.

Which means the well-being through nature shizz is RECOGNISED, is NEEDED and is of course HELPFUL to folks.

So to be able to offer some fully funded sessions means more authorities and organisations will see the impact and do more. As people need more.

This has really made it all worthwhile. 💚

Here's a pic of a chicken that begrudgingly let me hug it earlier.😆

Stay snazzy all!

Good Morning! It's bloody parky out today isn't it!❄️

I'm tucked up in bed doing emails today, I'm sure someone out there will tell me it's not conducive to work in someway, but personally I see it as a luxury and the reality of real life!

Here's some elfcups my son and I picked on our walk home from school yesterday.

Hopefully they brighten your day a little amd perhaps you may see some for yourself if you get outside! ♥️

I really need to get my nailz 💅 done! 🤣

Two years alcohol free today. 😭💚💃👌

(Well yesterday 🤣 but most of you that follow me know I'm a bit lax with posting occasionally!)

Baked bunz to celebrate that morning.

So take a meme, a selfie and some bread pics as I'm still celebrating over here!

Anyway, I have nature, foraging and baking to thank wholeheartedly.

Not missed it in the slightest. And life got instantly better.

If alcohol is causing you to wake up feeling s**t. And you keep thinking about it being a problem. But worry as it means change. You can do this. It's never too late to do it. Change is good!

I'm signposting this post for anyone local if you need support, to reach out to Bridge Substance Misuse Programme, I kinda did by working with them.💚

My inbox is always open for any of you that might want to chat about this or get some confidential support.

Good morrow everyone!

I'm officially back in werk as of this Monday, but been adminning my lil heart out in bed this morning over here!

Five emails sent by 9.30am💃🤣

Lots of things are in the pipeline and all wild food related! Radio, more events to be added to my website soon, and even some networking next month over in Oxford at The Jericho Kitchen Cookery School with Slow Food in the UK 💚

Excited to meet Emma from JKCS as we've chatted loads but never met!

Plus a zillion other lovely things going in behind the scenes. Being self employed is weird af 😅 but delightful.

Throwback pic I took in Winter 2022, seemingly fitting for our current forecast snow.

It's a big day for me tomorrow. Will do a post here. As I'm ADHD and a nattterbox!🤣

Happy New Year you lovely lot! 💚

Keep your peepers open for my three fave things to forage in January if out wandering.

Elfcups
Oysters
Three-cornered leek

You'd be surprised as to where you might find 'em!

Daventry has three-cornered leek in the town centre..ish! No I'm not telling you where! 🤣

If you find any, do feel free to share your wild food pictures below!

(Also in other news we went to Sainsbury's to get a copy of the January issue I'm in, and since we came home...can we find it? 🤣 Think I left it in the bloody trolley!😭🤪)

Have a great year all and thanks for all your support these last few years! 🌱

I'm really proud of this.

Particularly as my writing doesn't ever fit into a neat and tidy box, and especially keeping things to a tight word count! 😅

But I did the job I was invited to do by the lovely Rae for 'Conscious Kitchen'.

200 'werds' in Sainsbury's Magazine!

Jan 2025, page 31💃✨️🌱

'Werk' is very beautiful, and whilst I won't profess to ever being an expert in anything I do, my passion hopefully creates ripples of possibilities for those that haven't considered foraging as a way of life and option to supplement meals and bakes if you start simple.👌

Swipe for pics of my resident bittercress in the gravel to the front of our 🏡 and some wild green breads I made this year that looked pretty!

Happy New Year to all of you that have supported me for another year doing all I love to do. 💚

Let's skip into a snazzy new year and focus on what we find joy in the most, to keep our brains busy and with purpose.

That's where we find our solace. Nature is fab, and where I found mine. A constant hunt for treasure, be it visually, to eat or to just be.

Much love.
