As a bride and a wedding stylist, I’m sure you can imagine that planning my own wedding was THE most exciting yet nerve wracking experience.

On one hand, I was looking forward to bringing all my creative ideas to life and design a day that truly reflected mine and Ramsay’s personalities. But on the other hand, the pressure was real!

I went over and over every detail, from the colour schemes to the table settings. Even with being in the industry there were moments that self doubt crept in, was I picking the right colour scheme? Was that the right shape of menu for this table setting? Is my wedding dress right? There are so many times you question the decisions you’re making but my advice is once you’ve made a decision, just keep going & don’t look back as it will all come together eventually!

Planning a wedding takes a lottt out of you, there are so many pieces to the puzzle that you have to consider & it can get super overwhelming, especially as the day gets closer. But when the day arrives, and you see everything and everyone come together under one roof, it’s totally worth it.

We know how hard it is to balance wedding planning with daily life - busy work commitments, family, friends etc. - it’s hard to find the time to plan a wedding from scratch. So if you can outsource any aspect of the planning of your day, we’d totally recommend it, and we’re always here to help if you decide you need a little helping hand with the design & style of your day.

1 week married + we’re thinking about everything we did to design our day at The Free Company last week. Being wedding stylists let’s just say the pressure was more than a little on to get it looking 👌🏻 plus we’re obsessed with the details so it took a lot of planning to get it just right! 💘

First up, let’s talk tables. This was a super important element of the day for us cause as I said, we love all the details. 🌸✨ Also, your guests spend a large portion of the day sat down here & if you do it right you can really make an impact for when they first walk in the room. It’s personally my absolute favourite thing to design as there are SO many elements you can include to really make an impact and highlight who you are as a couple. 💘

When we first visited the space we loved the rustic stone walls and wooden floors but immediately knew we needed to soften the space. Especially for a wedding, adding as many softer elements as possible creates a much more romantic feel in the room.

Stone wash table linens were the perfect base to start with, we looove all things linen and the neutral stone colour both complimented the stone walls and was the perfect base for the pops of colour we had planned. Next up, napkins. I always encourage our couples to use their napkins as an opportunity to inject a bit of fun into the tables so when I found these gingham napkins I just knew we needed to incorporate them into our day! Pairing that with an individual menu/place name combination (our couples will know that’s my fave thing!) for each guest. Obv they were pink (my fave colour!) and with the wavy edges they just added further to the relaxed, fun vibe we wanted our guests to experience. 💘

For the centrepieces it was a mix of our favourite coloured taper candles in a spring, pastel palette & beaut blooms from in little ceramic vessels & pin frogs. Adding these colourful elements really made the tables pop & brought the spring, sunny vibe inside. 🌸🌼🌺

The most magical day set in the most beautiful of settings at . C&J trusted us with the full design of their day and we’re so glad they did. Just look at this location! 💘

Right in the heart of Glencoe we came up with a colour palette that suited the incredible natural surroundings, complementing rather than distracting from it. Beautiful wild blooms from added to the design perfectly with lots of foliage & bud vases. Napkins, table linens and candles in autumnal colours completed the tables with a personalised menu for each guest. We also designed a Welcome Sign & Seating Plan, keeping the fonts & design simple yet elegant. ✨

🌸🫶 THREE ideas to make sure your Summer Wedding Drinks Reception stand out from the crowd!! 🫶🌸

- His & Hers Cocktails - Have guests pick between your two fave cocktails. If you're totally competitive you could even have a competition to see who's is most popular 😂 I reckon ours would be an Espresso Martini & a Moscow Mule. I want to hear yours! - Beer Barrow & Pimp My Prosecco Station - sooo much easier than queueing up at the bar or eagerly awaiting the person with the tray (especially when you're probably awaiting the all important canapé tray too 😂) As a guest it's soo good to be able to just grab a drink yourself especially on a hot Summers day!

- Champagne Seating Plan - We loooove this idea as it always looks unreal BUT you have to make sure you have plenty people on hand at the venue to help pour and assemble the plan right before guests will need to take their seats. Order of the Day - White Vinyl on our Rustic Pallet ✨

We’d recommend a rustic venue for our pallet boards. They sit beautifully in courtyards while guests mingle, or in a large barn for dinner.

Fun to create and from a guests perspective, it’s nice to know what to expect for the day ahead! Makes things that little bit more exciting we think… 🫶🏻💘

Honestly I would say without a doubt one of our most popular station set ups. We also receive the besssst feedback from them too! Couples have cute photos to keep forever, guests have fun taking photos + sticking into the guestbook with a message & it's an added bit of excitement to your evening reception.

Top tip: if your guests are shy task one of your bridesmaids/groomsmen to encourage them to get involved. It usually just takes the first few people to get started & there will be a queue of people all night long! 😍💘

What a long time since I last posted! So I thought, why not leap back onto social media with a wee photo of myself since I verrrrry rarely (If EVER!) feature on here! 😮

For those of you who haven't chatted with me before, I'm Alice. If you've enquired or booked with us you will have spoken to me! 💘

I run The Little Dressing Co. with my partner Ramsay (who hates the camera even more than me 😂) We've been running this business for 2 years now and have styled/hired out props for the most beauuutiful weddings & events so far. We love every aspect of this business (ok maybe not cleaning the glass cylinders 😄) but honestly everything else! We especially LOVE being creative, coming up with new ideas, buying new props & creating new designs for our clients. 💘

We've been SO busy since the start of the year... new branding, new packages, new styling service, new photos of our props (coming VERY soon!) AND new studio space!
