Here's a brief look in to Jon's history of which Amsterdam can be added to it...
Jon Cooper, known as Jon Pleased Wimmin, is a celebrated UK DJ who rose to fame in the 1990s for his flamboyant cross-dressing style and magnetic presence on the club scene. Starting his journey as a clubber in London’s late '80s nightlife, he made the leap to DJing in 1991 after being discovered by Danny Rampling at the iconic Glam night. His unique flair and eclectic music taste quickly earned him a loyal following, making him a staple at top clubs across the UK and internationally—from Ibiza and Buenos Aires to Japan and South Africa. He became a regular in DJ Magazine’s Top 100, peaking at number six in 1996, and gained recognition for his seamless sets and fashion-forward image, bolstered by his background in fashion.
Throughout his career, Jon has released multiple records including UK Top 30 hits "Passion" and "Give Me Strength," and remixed artists like Erasure, Soft Cell, and Paloma Faith. He’s produced acclaimed mix compilations for Ministry of Sound and others, and continued to release music into the 2010s and beyond, including remixes for U2 and his 2019 single “European Love.” Still a vibrant force in the scene, Jon tours extensively across Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, playing at major festivals like Creamfields and Pride events. His recent appearances include high-profile gigs alongside DJ heavyweights like Eats Everything, and festival bookings for Clockwork Orange, Lakefest, and Cream, proving that his eclectic sound and charismatic energy remain as vital as ever.
