Let's get it right please 🙏

I would say by far, after the ceremony, the food service is the most important part of your day.

Typical wedding days mean that guests would not have had lunch or time to eat something substantial.

Guests by the time the wedding breakfast comes around are HUNGRY and probably in need of soaking up some alcohol.

Food service needs to be slick, fair and professional to ensure your guests stay happy.

Planning for service should be one of the main planning jobs couples do.

Speak to your caterer and they will help to advise what sort of information they need. And if you can, always get them to have a site visit if they've not been to the venue before.

There have been many occasions where I have witnessed chaos behind the scenes due to caterers not receiving the right information from couples.

As your planner, I understand the information that will help your caterers excel in their service.

Amanda & Brian flew all the way over from Winconsin, US for their wedding at

I had so much joy planning their 'Mountain Forest' wedding with them. 🏔️

We had a dreamy moss tablescape , a snowy owl to personally deliver the rings, a frosted chocolate cake and a casino ith acoustic background music to entertain their guests.

Most of us work alone, only coming together with other suppliers on the wedding day to deliver our services. But the fast pace nature of wedding days means we never get to properly catch up!

A lot of thought went into
this shoot & it was a lot of fun to be a part of!

The photographer invited me to help style and coordinate this shoot with the main focus on it being ethical & ethereal.

All the suppliers involved had sustainability and ethics in mind when putting forward their decisions and design - from ethically sourced make up products to recycled or reused materials.

Probably the most hated thing people organise for their wedding is transport.

Not the transport itself but they hate the logistics of organising it.

Getting your guests to and from the venue as well as yourself as a couple poses many questions.

Where from? For how many? From what time? Where will it pass? When will it arrive? Will it get there?

Yes! You need to know that the roads are suitable for the vehicle you choose.

Wedding transport is often an after thought but it’s so important to get it right to ensure everyone is on time and know where they are going.

Choosing a reliable & flexible transport supplier is key.

Times can easily change if the order of events are not running to schedule and you want a supplier to be able to change to your needs without complication.

You can go as fancy or practical as you like.

Coaches, taxis, limos, horse and carriage, vintage car, super car are just some of the starting suggestions you can consider but you can be as creative as you like!

Tuk tuks, golf buggy, campervan, or helicopter are some other unusual ideas you could have.

Wedding Tradition: The Veil 👰

The wedding veil is a beautiful garment that just completes the bridal look.

It is traditionally worn over the face as the bride walks down the aisle.

As marriage used to be a way for families to climb the social ladder, it was a worry that the groom would get cold feet if they didn’t find the bride attractive.

Traditionally the bride and groom would not see each other before the ceremony, and the veil was additionally introduced to hold off that first glance until after the vows were exchanged.

The veil adds suspense and anticipation of revealing the beautiful bride.

The role of the bridesmaid…

More often than not I hear about tricky bridesmaids.

Being asked to be a bridesmaid is a testament to your friendship with the bride.

The bride VALUES you as a person and wants you to share their special day with them.

It’s a stressful time for the couple and it’s the role of the bridesmaid (and groomsmen I might add) to support the couple getting wed.

This could be a listening ear, being proactive, bringing positivity and being an extra pair of hands when they need it.

However it should be recognised by couples that being a bridesmaid does come with its challenges.

Money, time and dynamics can inhibit their ability to be the support you need.

So what can you do as a couple? Consider your expectations and ask yourself if they are reasonable.

Figure out if the bridesmaids/groomsmen are adding to your stress, or are they helping?

Have a conversation with them about what’s bothering you both and discuss whether the role is for them.

If it’s not for them, it doesn’t mean they are less of a friend, but it does help to prevent damaging your friendship in the long term 🌟

Someone said to me the other day …

“I don’t know how you do this wedding planning full time, it’s giving me a headache!”

Wedding planning does take up a lot of time, and a lot of thought needs to go into it.

A wedding is not the same as organising a 30th birthday party meal.

There are more things to consider and more riding on the day being perfect👌

Just like anything you do, perfection comes with time and experience.

Your first go at something is never perfect, and you should give yourself credit and realisation when organising such an event.

Recognise that it will be difficult and time consuming, but also recognise when you need to ask for help.

I offer different planning services to help you along your journey.

While full plan support is a staple service, my ‘consult & manage’ service is becoming increasingly popular.

This service is for those who are happy to do the planning but need support and guidance along the way.

We have regular virtual catch ups throughout the planning process and I share with you helpful tips and advice along with my useful wedding planning tools to help you along the way.

Although a wedding planner doesn’t offer anything tangible, we do offer peace of mind and that is priceless ❤️
