Flowers make me happy and giving them to people who seem equally happy to receive them makes doing what I do so worthwhile.

However, it’s not all pretty flowers behind the scenes. Every season brings its own challenges and there are failures most years of at least one crop (daucus carota I’m looking at you) and Mother Nature always has something different to throw at us. Even growing on a small scale like I do, I’ve definitely noticed the impact climate change is having on my plot.

Still, working with the seasons and staying deeply connected to the land keeps me grounded.

I’ve just read Raising Hare by which is a beautiful book and one I recommend for any nature lover. It touches on the damage intensive farming has had on our natural habitat. We are lucky that where I live the farm follows regenerative soil practices, reducing the need for as many chemicals. We need to help protect our native species in this changing climate.

Ladybirds have been prolific this year and are doing a great job at keeping the aphids off my flowers.

Just as the gorgeous weather has broken I’m off on holiday to Wales but at least we’ve had a bit of rain here. Not nearly enough but it’s better than nothing.

There will be no flowers available for delivery or collection from Friday 18th July until Tuesday 29th July. Normal service will resume on Wednesday 30th July.

Flowers for a stunning home that has been shortlisted for a British Institute of Interior Design Award. The house was eco retrofitted by the super talented couple behind who are rooted in regenerative principles. I’m sure the judges will be wowed by what you’ve created.

The flowers echo the sustainable principles at the heart of this home and were grown less than a mile away.
