Here I am up a ladder hard at work… not everyone’s favourite place to be! However, I absolutely love it as it normally means I am creating beautiful foliage and floral installations for gorgeous couples for their special day.

How has your day been?

A ‘Blue Moon’ for what is said to be ‘Blue Monday’ (the third Monday of January).

Today is said to be the most depressing day of the year.

I do hope your day has been full of wonderful things.

This beautiful ’Blue Moon’ was a stunning feature in the Glasshouse at RHS Garden Wisley during the recent Glow Illumination Event and was created by the RHS Garden Wisley Glasshouse team from Air plants (Tillandsia spp.) which were individually wired on to a frame and suspended amongst the most incredible array of plants. Truly Incredible!

Pushing through… nature never fails to show us that despite challenges we can ‘grow and bloom’.

When things get tough or obstacles get in our way WE CAN ‘grow and bloom’.

We may need to make changes and adjustments for us to ‘grow and bloom’…

Sometimes we can do this alone and sometimes we need help.

It has been a tough and challenging few years.

Be kind to yourself
Be kind to others
Check in on your loved ones

And…
Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up.

Now to clear the leaves so these beauties can ‘grow and bloom’!

What are your memories and thoughts about autumn?

In my article ‘Autumn Musings - Planning for the year ahead’ in the latest edition (Autumn 2022) of the online magazine ‘Menopause Life’ I share my memories and thoughts and why I believe autumn is the time to plan ahead.

As we are now at the beginning of astronomical autumn what better way to celebrate autumn by following my ‘Step by Step’ guide in the magazine and bring the outside in with a seasonal garden/meadow inspired arrangement for your home.

The design is created in a vintage wooden brick mould using foliage, flowers and seed heads that you can cut from your garden, buy from the supermarket or buy from your local florist.

I do hope that I inspire you to get creative!

There is also ‘10 Tips in Caring for your Flowers’.

‘Menopause Life’ is a free online magazine full of incredible articles about lifestyle, fashion, nutrition, exercise and complimentary therapies and many more.

Are you enjoying attending weddings again?

How wonderful for the bride, groom and their guests to be greeted with these stunning flowers on Saturday.

Celebrated annually since 2013
New Covent Garden Market are the ‘driving force’ behind this fabulous week celebrating the very best of British flowers, foliage and plants.

With so many British flower farmers and with the increased number of people growing their own cut flowers in their gardens, on their balconies, in pots and on their allotments this week truly is a fabulous opportunity to show why we should be so proud of British flowers, foliage and plants and how we can them use them to enrich our everyday lives.

Here is an arrangement I created a couple of weeks ago in a vintage jug with an array of flowers, foliage and herbs gathered from my garden, my mum’s garden and from my wonderful friend’s garden.

Why not share your photos of the flowers you are growing and/or of the arrangements you create this week; I’d love to see them!

Is it important to you to know if a company you buy from has sustainability and the environment at its core?

I am passionate about doing my upmost to be as sustainable and environmentally aware in all aspects of my business and my life.

I am thrilled to share with you that last week I was presented with my against sewage plaque and certificate from Kate Cottrell who runs ‘Fleet Scoop’. - a refill and zero waste shop in Fleet, North Hampshire.

This initiative is in conjunction with ‘Plastic Free Hart’ which encourages all companies in the Hart District, Hampshire to look at their business and look to make changes.

Kate visited my studio previously and we discussed everything I do and how I could remove three pieces of single use plastic from my business to gain my accreditation. It was tough as I was already limiting single use plastics, however, we eventually found three!

Kate is an amazing woman who works tirelessly to encourage people to make small changes because we all know that every small change makes a big difference.
