MONOPOLY EVENTS EXCLUSIVE GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - JOHN CENA

We are delighted to announce that we have secured another huge A-list celebrity guest announcement who will be appearing Sunday at our Comic Con Wales show in Newport on August 7th.

Which of you was smart enough to have got the 6.30pm clue?

John Felix Anthony Cena is an American professional wrestler, actor, and former rapper, currently signed to WWE. Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, he is tied with Ric Flair for the most world championship reigns in professional wrestling history.

Born in West Newbury, Massachusetts, Cena moved to California in 1998 to pursue a career as a bodybuilder. He switched to professional wrestling in 1999 when he debuted for Ultimate Pro Wrestling. He signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in 2001, where he was assigned to Ohio Valley Wrestling. After moving to WWE's SmackDown roster in 2002, Cena gained fame and success after adopting the persona of a trash-talking rapper. He won his first singles title, the United States Championship, in 2004. The next year, he won the WWE Championship, and his character changed into a clean-cut hero. He led the company as its franchise player and public face for the next decade.

A joint-record 16-time world champion, Cena has won the WWE Championship 13 times, a record for the title. He is also a five-time US Champion, a four-time world tag team champion, a two-time Royal Rumble match winner, a one-time Money in the Bank match winner, and has headlined multiple major WWE pay-per-view events, including its flagship event, WrestleMania, five times. His professional wrestling career has been met with mixed critical and audience reception, with praise for his character work and promotional skills, but criticism for his perceived over-representation and on-screen placement relative to other wrestlers.

Cena first starred in The Marine (2006), and gained praise for his performances in Trainwreck (2015), Ferdinand (2017), Blockers, and Bumblebee (both 2018). He starred in F9 and portrayed Peacemaker in The Su***de Squad (both 2021) and the eponymous television series. His debut studio album, You Can't See Me (2005), was certified platinum. Outside his work in entertainment, Cena is known for his involvement in numerous charitable causes, namely with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where he has granted the most wishes at over 650.

We are delighted to be hosting an evening with John Cleese in Manchester on July 19th. There will be a two hour signing session as part of the proceedings, so if you want to get an autograph from John in person buy a ticket for the event which includes an hour long Q&A, and you can get your autograph in person from the man himself. There will also be photo shoots which you can purchase tickets for, and for the superfans there is a VIP meet and greet option which includes an intimate meet and greet, autograph, photograph, and Q&A. MONOPOLY EVENTS NEW ONLINE AUTHENTICITY CHECKER

Anybody who has bought a Monopoly Events item with a holographic sticker previously from us, we have great news! You can now get your item added to our website checker which will not only record your item forever on our online database and prove its authenticity, but also make it increase in value!

To do this all you need to do is email our dedicated member of staff [email protected] with each piece of merchandise you want adding on SEPARATE emails.

Each email should contain two pictures. One clearly showing the signature on the item, and another clearly showing the barcoded sticker. Please also state the event, description of item, and date you obtained it, or if it was from a private signing through us just state so.

All Monopoly Events authenticated items from now on will be added to this database. We will also be offering this authentication service at our events so you can go away from the show with your items authenticated and registered on the day.

Please allow 7-10 days turnaround, it may be much faster but please allow time.

FOR THE LOVE OF HORROR MANCHESTER OCTOBER 16-17 EXCLUSIVE GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT - TIM CURRY

Monopoly Events is ecstatic to finally secure a deal to bring Tim Curry to the UK. Literally months of negotiations have finally paid off and we are delighted to make this exclusive announcement, Tim will appear BOTH DAYS of For the Love of Horror.

Tim is known for working in a diverse range of theatre, film, and television, most often portraying villainous characters. Curry rose to prominence with his portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), reprising the role he had originated in the 1973 London and the 1974 Los Angeles musical stage productions of The Rocky Horror Show.

Curry’s other stage work includes various roles in the original West End production of Hair, Tristan Tzara in the 1975 West End and Broadway productions of Travesties, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the 1980 Broadway production of Amadeus, Alan Swann in the Broadway production of My Favourite Year, and King Arthur in Broadway and West End productions of Spamalot from 2005 to 2007. His theatre accolades include three Tony Award nominations and two Laurence Olivier Award nominations.

Curry received further acclaim for his film and television roles, including Rooster Hannigan in the film adaptation of Annie (1982), Darkness in Legend (1985), Wadsworth in Clue (1985), Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the miniseries It (1990), the Concierge in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers (1993), and Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island (1996). He has also gained acclaim for his voice acting roles, including his Daytime Emmy Award winning performance as Captain Hook on the Fox's Peter Pan & the Pirates (1990–1991), Hexxus in the film FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992), Sir Nigel Thornberry on The Wild Thornberrys (1998–2004), and Palpatine on Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2012–2014).

As a solo music artist, Curry has released three studio albums; Read My Lips (1978), Fearless (1979), and Simplicity (1981).

Photo ops only priced at £150, Tim will not be taking part in a group Rocky Horror photo due to logistical reasons, autograph orders will be taken on the day at a table that Tim will later fulfill and be posted out. There will be a Rocky Horror group shoot it will just not include Tim.

Sometimes credited as Meat Loaf Aday, he has also appeared in over 50 movies and television shows, sometimes as himself or as characters resembling his stage persona. His most notable film roles include Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), and Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club (1999).
