Today at Illuminate Oldham festival at Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre we were entertaining everyone.. even bears!

We showcased our new arrival our arcade machine which was a certain hit!

And guess what, thanks to it was all free to play for shoppers!

🎮✨ Arcade Pop Up supported Manchester Metropolitan University today for their Mental Health and Wellbeing Day, and it was 🔥!

We brought meditation, gaming, VR, and loads of fun to help everyone chill, de-stress, and feel good. Whether you were vibing with the meditation or getting lost in virtual reality, there was something to help you level up your mental wellbeing. 🧘‍♀️🎧🎮

Big thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a blast! 🙌

I remember being at a Networking event not too long ago and was discussing what services Arcade Pop Up offered to a group of fellow business owners, then suddenly another business man butted in to the conversation and obnoxiously asked "Who would pay for that?"

These photographs are proof that these people would pay!.. but the beauty of our model is that they don't.. they play for free!!

Arcade Pop Up is going from strength to strength, and giving local youngsters work opportunites.

Even both 's Mayor Dr Zahid Chauhan OBE, FRCGP popped in to see how great these events are, and Cllr Hussain also came to enjoy a spot of gaming with his grandchildren.

We really appreciate our customers and Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre 's faith in us has been rewarded with an amazing, busy event!

Our Story

Esports Events UK have been established since June 2018, originally SLBC Events LTD. but rebranded in September 2019. The story of our business begins long before this, in the front room of the founder, Bernie Coughlin,’s home... many years ago.

Bernie and his mates were massive fans of the earlier titles of the EA FIFA series, and regularly got together to compete against each other on a 1 on 1 basis, when someone suggested “We should have a tournament! and a trophy!”. Bernie made this happen, got a trophy made and the first of the FIFA Tournaments took place between 8 friends.

Those 8 friends soon became 10, then 12, until the front room of Bernie’s modest, humble home was no longer big enough to cater for the number of players... nor the mess they left behind! He then had a conversation with a local bar “Venue” in Colne Lancashire, and held their first competition on neutral ground, using their large projector screen! For BIG SCREEN FIFA!

The bar loved it... not only were the players drinking whilst competing for the FIFA Champion’s Trophy, their punters were stopping to watch the games unfold and were enjoying the experience as much as the players! Cheering their goals, celebrating their wins and consoling their losses!

A business was born...

Bernie then teamed up with Stephen Littler, another fan of the game to set up and run becoming Co-Directors of SLBC Events LTD, the business specialised in running EA Licensed FIFA Tournaments, making sure the events fell within the EA Community Guidelines and therefore licensed by the game developer. Facilitating competitions for their customers and making sure that they were doing so in the correct manner and not infringing the game’s intellectual property.

Steve and Bernie agreed to part ways in 2019, and Bernie continued the business as the sole Director re branding the business to Esports Events UK, a trading style of Esports Events (NW) LTD. The business has grown from strength to strength, dealing with customers like Rochdale AFC, Hyde United, Chorley FC and Barnsley FC. And now more recently, diversifying to offer Retro Arcade and VR Experiences!

The plan for the business is to continue the trajectory of growth, working with more bars, grass roots football clubs and charities to further refine the proposition. We also have plans to further diversify into other sports, such as Ice Hockey and Basketball.
