Why I do it...
Picking up my camera helps me feel in tune with the world. Like theres a story to be told and its my opportunity and responsibility to ensure it’s a good one.
I look at my business of shooting weddings and think “What would I want to see from my wedding? Years from now, looking at these photos are people going to know my story?”
My mum and dad only had 1 photo from their wedding. I love that picture. My dad looks insanely happy and my mum looks beautiful. I only feel love for the image I have and …. disappointment that theres only the one.
When I got married I could only afford one photographer. Granted she was a friend and a great photographer but the experience, it did highlight one thing to me. How important being there to capture the images is. I now look back on my wedding day and have lovely photos of my wife and children whilst the missing photos of my dad and best men feels now like a jigsaw puzzle bought in a charity shop.
When I launched my wedding photography business I started it with one aim. To give the best experience ever. I knew I could never hope to be the best photographer out there. There are so many incredible professionals that competing on that level was just a mistake. However, based on my experience and what I feel i’d want from my wedding photographer I knew I could give the best, most memorable, complete experience along with my crazy, insanely infectious enthusiasm (so i’m told!)
So here we are. What I do is a funny amalgamation of wants and wishes and experiences that I want to give to couples that want more than just your average photographer.
You’ll want to book me because you want the experience. You want to remember not just the day but how amazing you felt, how standing with your partner to be, you felt like the only 2 people the world. How amazing and somewhat strange it is to see all your friends and family around you, all in one place… at the same time!
I am based in Penarth, Cardiff, Wales but am happy to travel anywhere.
