***King of Clubs Gets Set Up For Season 4***
2023 will see the fourth season of the action-packed 1:10 scale electric on-road racing series. The coming year begins with a warm-up race at the West London Racing Centre before heading south for the first point-scoring races at Eastbourne Electric Car Club. The series will then move around the southeast for races at West London, Aldershot, and Adur, with Colchester Model Car club hosting the championship finale this season.
Looking back on the 2022 season - so many good memories!
Eastbourne Electric Car Club came from behind and won their third successive championship, Billy and Marcus dominating the touring car, the new KOC GT format and Touring Car Talent Cup being so successful, Andy winning with one of the hardest cars to set up, and Archie graduating from Junior-E to win again. Another brilliant cohort of juniors coming in, with Chloe, Ellie, Poppy, Hannah and others flying the flag for Girls on Track, James and Xavi duking it out for the series win while Paul held on to take the F1 title again despite the quickening pace of son Jonathan.

It’s the holiday season for a reason.
While Christmas is the headliner in many Western countries, there are countless winter celebrations Worldwide. Some of the most well-known and oft-celebrated are religious in origin or from Mother Nature herself, acknowledging the darkest day of the year and the inevitable return of the sun; many others honour cultural traditions.
No matter how you celebrate this holiday season, togetherness is one thing these traditions all have in common. And while each celebration might look a bit different, there’s no better time for us to honour all we share and those we love. Together.
You have until midnight in Boxing Day to view…in the new year Park the Bus and Tull Stories will be taking to film out to the world broadcast VOD 🎉

On any given day across the UK, there are thousands of people out racing radio control cars. Ask any RC racer what it feels like, and some will describe the acceleration and speed. The sensation of remotely controlling a 70 mph RC car on the edge of adhesion in a race against friends and rivals. Some will talk about the technology and the challenge of race engineering a car to find the last fraction of a second.
But, whether they dream of being Lewis Hamilton or have been racing RC for thirty years or more, they are all in the grip of a common addiction. This world is simultaneously the most accessible, high-tech, and global form of motorsport. And yet, while so many people are yearning for a connection to something real, away from the virtual world, it is a best-kept secret.
This highly anticipated new documentary directed and produced by Greg Cruttwell (The Football Monologues, Chunky Monkey), King Of Clubs follows a group of racers as they compete over the summer months in 2021 across different tracks in the South of England, all aiming to be crowned champion.
Filmed and edited by Peter J Hayes who introduced the director/producer Greg Cruttwell to the secret world of remote-control car racing and the fanaticism surrounding it, Greg discovered that it is a highly technical sport and as complicated as Formula 1. As such, a number of those involved in the sport end up in the pits on F1 teams.

Thanks everyone for the messages enquiring about plans for 2023 - the calendar most specifically. Following the BRCA section conference there’s been some significant changes and a step forward for collaboration between clubs, series and the association- great news! It does mean the shape of the calendar for KOC23 will take a while as everyone works together. We love that ❤️

Park the Bus has launched a website for the upcoming documentary 'King of Clubs'
The flim, launching on 19th November with a time-limited release on DDRC.TV focuses on the world of remote-control car racing, where Lewis Hamilton started at the age of six. It follows a group of racers competing over the summer months in 2021, on different tracks in the South of England, all aiming to be crowned the champion.
On any given day across the UK, there are thousands of people out racing radio control cars. Ask any RC racer what it feels like; some will describe the speed, the sensation of remotely controlling a 70 mph RC car on the edge of adhesion in a race against friends and rivals. Some will talk about the technology and the challenge of race engineering a car to find the last fraction of a second. Whether they dream of being the next Lewis Hamilton or have been racing like this for thirty years or more, they are all in the grip of a common addiction.
"This documentary film comes out hot on the heels of Sir Lewis Hamilton reminiscing on Sky Sports about RC racing as a child and the doors to the world of racing and engineering being opened up for him. At a time when our country desperately needs a diverse new generation of children and young people to become scientists, engineers and technologists, this documentary offers a much-needed insight into the emotion and the journey of some of the world's best RC racers."

About The King of Clubs Series
Four of the UK’s leading 1/10 electric on-road RC clubs are working together on a new regional ‘King of Clubs’ race series, featuring drivers championships and a unique Inter-club cup championship. Adur Model Car Club, Aldershot Model Car Club, Eastbourne Electric Car Club, and the West London Racing Centre have created the series to enable RC racers to support their clubs in the south-east, and for the clubs to support each other through the difficulties arising from the Coronavirus pandemic currently affecting everything including our sport.
The series will cater for 1/10th scale electric touring cars with a drivers championship for Stock 17.5 Blinky racers, open to racers from anywhere in the UK. There will also be a unique inter-club match race format, pitting teams of drivers from each of the four clubs against each other to win a club team championship. Open practice will, hopefully, be available at each track on the Saturday before the races.
Due to the wide variety of classes raced at the four clubs, additional race classes will be catered for subject to demand and entry levels.
We would like to encourage racers to support their local clubs by becoming members despite the shortened season we are facing and would ask racers interested in racing in this series to register interest here and indicate their class preference.
Adur Model Car Club Chairman, Mick Hendy:
"We are really happy to be coming together with the other clubs to support this series and make it a success for all our members and RC Racing in the South East - we can't wait!"
Aldershot Model Car Club Chairman, Glenn Westwood:
“We’ve never needed each other more than we do now. Clubs and racers getting together will, I hope, mean something good can come from the current situation. This can be every bit as good as the old Southern League.”
Eastbourne Electric Car Club Chairman, Stuart Colby:
“This is just what our corner of the RC world needs after the disappointment of Coronavirus shutting everything down. We love the idea of coming together to make some events happen - hopefully the start of a great new series.”
West London Racing Centre Club Manager, Damian Giddins:
“After the frustration of this lockdown, I think everyone would love the opportunity to get out and support the clubs. You know you want to test that new car on out on asphalt 😀”
