Last week we held a lovely baby shower full of games and treats to celebrate for Cheryl and Emily! We are so excited for them both as they start a new adventure, but also extremely sad to see them go away for maternity! Today we say goodbye to our amazing Managing Director Cheryl as it is her final day before maternity leave, hopefully she will still make an appearance in the office when the little one comes along! We will miss you Cheryl 🥰

The YourVision Events team are gearing up for a virtual conference and thought we would share our top tips on running a successful virtual event.

1. Plan ahead – Make sure you have a clear plan and agenda for your virtual event.

2. Test your technology – Make sure your internet connection, audio and video are working properly before the event starts.

3. Engage your audience – Use interactive features like Polls, Q&A’s and chat to keep your audience engaged.

4. Create a welcoming environment – Set up virtual backgrounds, use music, encourage attendees to introduce themselves, and encourage networking.

5. Eliminate Distractions – Silence mobile phones and email notifications during the event.

The official theme for Earth Day 2024 is 'Planet vs Plastics'. There are many things we can do as individuals to reduce our single-plastic use such as;
- drinking out of a reusable cup/bottle
- using your own shopping bags
- opt for produce packed in cardboard or glass

In the Events industry it is common to find people struggling with mental health. We are very happy to see that Skiddle are supporting mental health with their recent survey! The survey aims to highlight the new challenges facing the community, in the wake of the pandemic, and amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Insights will be compiled and transformed into a range of valuable resources, such as white papers, freely downloadable handbooks, guides, and additional materials. These resources will offer practical guidance to industry professionals on how to manage their mental health.
