I LOVE receiving your professional wedding images especially when they are as stunning as the ones from gorgeous Victoria & Pete.
Victoria designed the most beautiful wedding full of her own creative touches and it was an absolute pleasure to add to that.
The brief was no flowers, loads of foliage and a dried bouquet - a great example of designing your wedding around what you love. Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate this incredible dress 😍

10 days until my first wedding of the year and I CANNOT WAIT!!!
It’s fair to say I have felt horrendous this week and my face has shown it with some pretty full on swelling. It’s still a bit puffy and seeing as my husband did a sharp intake of breath when I turned the light on, on Monday morning, i’ll leave anymore videos for the time being! To cheer me up I have spent a lot of time looking at flowers, my definite happy place, so to actually be back making something next week is beyond exciting!
How is it Wednesday already?! 🤨 x

It’s never too early for cake, right?!
Looking back on one of my favourite weddings of the year using all the floral textures. Bunny tails, lots of bunny tails! 🐇
Had a busy weekend making loads of wreaths in advance of a market at the gorgeous where I will be next weekend.
I’ll be there with loads of other fresh and dried beauties, perfect for filling your home and presents for the festive season. Essentially, if it can have pine in or on it, I’ll have it! 😉

Something I love about bud vases is that each flower is chosen and placed very consciously. How it connects with other flowers in the vase and surrounding it.
That’s what happens when you shop small and independently - you get a real person who really cares and it means the world to have someone value that.
A few months ago I was doing a pop up shop and was shamed into reducing my prices as they were more than what someone would have paid in a local Tesco. I know that what I offer is so much more than that but I think sometimes it’s a good reminder to know the difference it makes to produce and buy something that’s local.
You get someone’s hopes, ambition, creativity and love, and more often than not you get something that is unique to you, and in return you may pay a little bit more. However, you’re contributing to that person being able to live and hopefully enabling them to go on and make more people smile.
Thanks to every person that has worked with me or bought from me as you make all difference to my little world.
*for those who care, I made a loss at that pop up shop and decided at that point that I wouldn’t lose my sense of worth or devalue what I was doing. It’s a hard path to take but we all have the opportunity to drive change and giving in isn’t the answer.

Oh autumn, of all the seasons you are my favourite. The colours, the textures, the slow progression from abundant green to bare branch. A bit like wedding season it goes from busy and lively to gentler and slower.
I took myself away this weekend as an opportunity to recharge. It’s been a complete indulgence (I had a brownie for dinner last night!!) and it probably won’t happen again until the youngest is at least 16 but that’s okay. This weekend I needed it.
I’ve done a bit of work mainly focusing on the next 12 months and how and where I want the business to grow, and I’m going to try and hold on to gentle and slow. I’m not sure many business owners would want that and I’m sure loads of business mentors would be horrified but I have loved every single one of my weddings this year and the investment I’ve been able to make in each of them and the wonderful couples, which wouldn’t have been able to happen if every weekend was full.
So, as I pack my bags and head home to what I am sure will be absolute and utter chaos, I’m going to hold on to gentle and slow for as long as I can ♥️

This got a lot of love on stories yesterday so here it is for the grid. If only I thought to capture my husband’s reaction when he walked into our bedroom and saw it. He was deeeeeelighted! 💁♀️

I very rarely have pictures of myself - 7000 pictures of my kids, flowers and the dog on my phone but hardly any of me so a selfie at the near top of step ladders seemed eminently sensible 🤔 but a good opportunity to put my face out there and tell you a bit more about Deer & Bee and what we stand for.
With a background in helping organisation focus on their mission and values, I always knew I wanted my business to be based on and around what matters the most. For me, that’s being ethical, eco conscious, relationships and family.
Ethical - I’m a strong advocate that business should exist for good so I donate 10% of all my profits to local charities. I ask my couples to choose where they would like that donation to go. This cost is never passed on to my couples but I’m finding that those I work with get a lot of joy knowing that their wedding is contributing to helping people in need.
Eco-conscious - I try wherever I can to use British flowers, to source products as locally as possible and to not use foam or single use plastic. We are starting to grow our own flowers on a small plot at the back of our house with a view that in a few years time we will be able to rely on these for all weddings and events. After an event we compost every thing we can which goes back into our soil for future growing.
Relationships - an aspect that I truly love is meeting and building relationships with the wonderful couples that I have the privilege to work with. I love creating something that is unique to them and a reflection of who they are as individuals and a couple.
Family - it’s important to me that I design my business with my family in mind and that the business is part of who we are as a family. The name, Deer & Bee, is after my children and their names. My son, Lewin, is a wonderfully layered soul whose name means dear and well-loved. My daughter, Bess, at only 1 is already as direct as they come, independent, feisty and has the most generous of hearts. Both love being outside so choosing animals to represent them and their names felt right 🦌 🐝
I hope this helps to give an insight into my business and thanks so much for following along ❤️

I love textured buttonholes, they’re one of my favourite pieces to do for a wedding. Taking all the lovely little details from the bridal bouquet and bringing them into their own. I particularly loved this small lisianthus bud (next to the rose), it was almost like an origami flower, so delicate and precise.

After a few days of being cooped up this week with a poorly child and not being able to work, it was so tempting to just crack on this morning and get my head down. Instead, I went for a walk. It was so lovely to get out and clear my head ready for the next stage of Deer & Bee. I’m so excited and hopefully some news to share soon!

Two suspended clouds for the absolutely delightful Victoria and Pete at the gorgeous Brinsop Court.
This wedding was one I’ve been very much looking forward to. I loved the brief of no flowers, just foliage, and how much freedom I was given to be creative and make some magic happen. Victoria has the most beautiful taste and sense of style so teaming the green of the foliage with stars, candles and grey table linen, it was the perfect autumn wedding.
Special shout out to Tyler and co. at Brinsop Court who were super flexible and accommodating, and just a joy to work with. Can’t wait to be back with you next year!

For Dani ♥️
Reds, purples, peach, sage, with a hint of blue. Relaxed and wild which judging by the honeymoon photos is a little bit like the bride herself!

Autumn vibes are strong right now. Loving these kangaroo paws - rich in colour and velvet to the touch ❤️

Peach, yellow, rust orange, white and sage was the colour palette for this bridal bouquet for Ames. Wild, tousled and abundant ♥️

Layers of flower clouds for Dani and Ames this weekend at the gorgeous Dewsall Court.
It was such a joy designing and creating this for the most wonderful couple.
The sun shone all weekend - the perfect autumnal days - and the love that this couple have for each other and that they share with their family and friends was electric. Such an honour to be involved.
As for the space, Dewsall Court is a bucket list venue for a lot of florists and it did not disappoint. What an amazing space to work with and in.

Overflowing flower bowls are one of my favourites 🌸
This weekend was the start of a busy October which I CANNOT wait for! Three wonderful weddings which have been long awaited by some truly amazing couples and dream briefs to boot.

The Well Loved is now Deer & Bee!
Over the past couple of months, in between lots of weddings, I’ve been spending some time reviewing my business. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what matters to me and my business and I wanted that to be reflected in the name. So, welcome to Deer & Bee!
Over the next few weeks, I’ll go into a bit more about the business, specifically what we stand for and how that’s going to show up in the way you experience us from initial contact right through to the epic flowers that you will have on your wedding day. You can continue to expect a bucket load of ambition, creativity, friendly support, and of course amazing bespoke floral designs using the best quality ingredients.
Massive shoutout to Angharad and Richard for creating my beautiful logo. It’s been brilliant to work with local talent and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next!
Be the first to know and let us send you an email when Deer & Bee posts news and promotions. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Story
The Well-Loved is a floral design service founded by Hannah Rogers.
I’ve always loved being in nature which is the main inspiration for my work. Growing up, my sister and I would often be found playing outside, competing with each other as to who could make the longest daisy chain! Flowers have just always made me happy.
Previous to my life as a florist I worked in corporate change and people development roles for many years. I’ve always loved working with people but I knew that I was destined for something more creative so, after a period of maternity leave, I decided to take the leap. Now I get to work with flowers every day while continuing my passion for empowering others and making people smile!
As an independent business I’ve designed the way I work around what’s important to me: relationships, being ethical and eco-conscious, and celebrating nature. Here’s some of the ways that I bring this to life:
I work with my clients to ensure that I fully understand your individual needs, ideas and dreams. It’s my role to bring that to life through floral design by listening, asking the right questions, making you feel comfortable and sharing your energy and enthusiasm.
In most cases, I only work with British growers and what’s available for that time of the year. Each of us plays a critical role in slowing down climate change, so sourcing flowers locally is one way that I can contribute. This also allows me to support other British small businesses.
I only ever use eco-friendly or biodegradable materials.
My inspiration and style draws from the wild, abundant British countryside, and I love creating pieces that reflect the beauty and freedom of nature.
Based in Bournville, South Birmingham I am also wife to Rich, who is an avid flower and vegetable grower, and mum to my one year old, Lewin. The Well-Loved was named after Lewin and the meaning of his name.
