I’ve been a bit social media quiet lately..

I’m still processing 2024 which personally and professionally was a mixed bag..

some 🩲 times and low moments
but many highs and 😊times too

2025 has started with some challenges so I’m trying to grab some moments of joy where I can ..

My lovely girl gifted me a Barbican membership for Christmas (she knows me well 😘)

So I’m spending a couple of hours here this morning enjoying myself ..and pondering on how best to extract myself from the metaverse 🤬)

As part of the network I’m also a ceremony accreditation observer..

This means I get to see new celebrants deliver ceremonies and recommend them for full accreditation…

It’s a role I really enjoy as every ceremony is a learning experience for me too..

At the peaceful overlooking the rolling Essex landscape I was privileged to attend a wonderfully crafted and beautifully delivered Humanist funeral ceremony by one of my colleagues…

Needless to say she is now fully accredited and will be an asset to our network, and for those looking for heartfelt and professionally delivered ceremonies.

Eight years ago today I began my Humanist Celebrant journey, beginning with naming ceremonies 🎈 I quickly fell in love with the role and so in 2019 trained to deliver wedding ceremonies 💕 2020 was well .. let’s not go there.. but with great support from Humanists UK I completed training for funerals 🌿 Being a celebrant can be challenging, self-employment is not always easy, there are quiet times, hectic times and the regularity of bookings is somewhat out of your control..It can also be a solitary role.. 🙃 But.. It’s a genuine privilege to work with families and couples to help create meaningful and memorable ceremonies that celebrate and mark life’s important moments 💕 I’m grateful for support from my HUK friends and colleagues..and my family and friends who’ve encouraged me, and given gentle nudges when needed! 🥳 My colourful and joyous reel is to celebrate the 54 children I’ve had the pleasure of naming to date..
