🥂Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Dryden who married yesterday at the gorgeous

Shelby (the bride) came to me with an idea that she had drawn for her wedding cake, and I absolutely LOVED bringing her dream cake to life!

When she also asked if I could create a surprise topper, for her new husband, of her little family I obviously said yes straight away.

As they are both Police officers, she thought it would be fun to have the Bride & Groom in their uniforms & the children in their wedding outfits.
I tried to make sure to include as much detail as possible, including their badge numbers on their lapels!

What a great keepsake from their wedding, that can be kept pride of place on display in their home.

Thank you to the wonderful for providing me with the fresh flowers for the cake also!

A throw back to this stunning cake, created for the new Mr & Mrs Richards, from the end of August this year.

They wanted a gorgeous cascade of fresh flowers down the front of their cake, that matched their venue decor & centre pieces.

Their florist left me a wonderful selection of flowers for me to dress the cake, which was done at the venue.
Of course each stem was wrapped & special cake safe protecters (called posey picks) were used to help safely attach the flowers to the cake.

Throw back to Leanne & Kenny’s wedding in May this year, and their gorgeous 5 tier wedding cake!

Featuring 3 x Lemon & Blueberry flavoured tiers, a red velvet tier as well as a delicious coconut & passionfruit tier… that’s right 5 real tiers of cake to serve to their guests!

Most impressive however is the gold circle separator by .options that is holding up the top two tiers. This took steady hands and patience to set up at their venue and then move onto a stage ~ I was definitely holding my breath during the move.

I love sitting down with my couples for a design meeting a few months before their wedding. This is the time for us to discuss all things cake, and bring your ideas to life!

If you are unsure of what you would like, don’t worry, I will guide you through designing your wedding cake. Talking through the theme of your wedding, colour palette, and the styles of cakes you like.

Putting together a mood board before your meeting can help some couples, as it can be overwhelming deciding on what exactly you like (Pinterest is great for this).

Although I don’t exactly copy other cake artist work, I take your ideas on board, to create a dream cake designed just for you!

🥂Congratulations to Libby & Sarah, who married at vaultymanor last month!

When Libby & Sarah first contacted me to create their wedding cake, I knew straight away we would get on… partly because of our mutual love of Disney 💕

So when Libby suggested, at our design meeting, that they wanted to incorporate a Mickey Mouse head ‘carved’ into the wood effect part of their cake, I loved the idea!

It was so much fun creating this gorgeous half wood effect cake, and their choice of flowers to match their decor were just stunning.

To top off my delivery & set up at the venue, I had a gorgeous little ‘Thank You’ gift box waiting for me, from this amazing couple.
I was shocked & blown away by their kindness, and definitely appreciated the Pink Gin when I got home 🥰

🥂Congratulations to Helen & Adrian, who married on Thursday at Mulberry House.

I got sent this absolutely stunning picture yesterday from Helen with the message -
“Is it possible to be in cake love?!”

And yes, I think it is 💕

I take thousands of pictures of my cakes when I set up… but nothing compares to seeing the professional pictures of my creations!

This gorgeous picture was taken by the talented Mini + Me Photography, and I think it will definitely be one to go up on my wall in the studio 🥰

Personalised biscuits are a great addition to your wedding day.

Whether you use them as favours for the guests, or they are out for guests to help themselves during the drinks reception… which is a great idea of kids (they couldn’t get enough) or any guests that want a sweet treat while you are having your photos taken.

These were made for my Brothers wedding & also handed out with coffee after dinner!

Congratulations to Lucy & James who married at the gorgeous Apton Hall 2 weeks ago today… I can’t believe I have only just got round to posting your beautiful cake!

I loved the beautiful burnt orange and Pearl theme, and couldn’t resist adding a little ‘hidden’ surprise for the couple on the cake too… comment below if you spot it!

When do I start?

While there is no set timeline to plan a wedding (some people do it in 6 months others years), there are a few things to remember.

Most cake designers would recommended getting your wedding cake booked in at least a year in advance, if possible.
That being said, the most important thing to do first, is to book your venue. Secure your wedding date, and then start looking for your suppliers.

There is no point booking with an amazing Photographer, cake designer or MUA and they do not have your date available when you eventually book your venue!
