I don’t know about you but as 2024 comes to a close, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible year it’s been, certainly for me as a celebrant 💕 I’ve had the privilege of marrying so many beautiful couples this year. Every ceremony was a chance to tell a unique love story, and I’m so deeply grateful for the trust each of you placed in me to share those stories with the world. 💕 Your love, resilience and the journeys you’ve been on continue to inspire me. Behind every single face is a rich history, a story of how life has thrown curveballs, but it’s how we face them that defines us. 💕 You’ll never know how much your stories have made me a better celebrant and person. 💕 2024 was also a milestone year for me personally - I celebrated a big birthday (no need to put the number!) 🌟 One week ago 🌟 Yep one week ago Lorraine and Gary said their ‘I Do’s’ in a beautiful celebration of love at the stunning Belle Isle Castle in Enniskillen. 💕 It was an emotional, magical day, full of laughter, tears (happy ones) and unforgettable moments. From across the Atlantic, family and friends travelled to witness this incredible couple exchange vows. 💕 The love and joy were palpable, they really were surrounded by love. I was so honoured to be a part of their special day. 💕 Here’s to many more weeks, months and years of happiness together! 💕 By the way…could we have a moment for Lorraine’s gown?? No need for an approved venue, the license goes with me. * Personal Connection: I’m there every step of the way, to guide you, provide support, calm nerves and make sure your ceremony is seamless and stress-free. You’re not just another couple to me - you’re a story I can’t wish to tell. 💕 Now, let’s talk about a registrar led ceremony. While they’re AMAZING at what they do, they are limited to the times and places available. Your ceremony will be the same as every other couple who gets married that day and will be carried out by whoever is on duty that day, there’s little to no flexibility in personalising your vows or venue and It won’t take 30 minutes. 💕 As a celebrant my role is to ensure your wedding day is exactly how you’ve imagined it - whether that’s by the sea, in a woodland, or in a cosy family garden. The investment in my services isn’t just for 30 minutes. One for the grooms There’s something truly magical about seeing a groom’s reaction when his bride walks down the aisle 🥲 💕 It’s one of my favourite parts of a ceremony and it never fails to get me every time. 💕 Whether it’s the quiet tear, the full on “I can’t believe this is real” moment, or just that little gulp of excitement and love, it’s always a reminder of how deep love runs. And honestly, I’m right there with them, trying not to cry myself (not always successfully!) I’ve walked part of the wedding planning journey with them so I know how they’re feeling! Congratulations to these two legends who said I Do at the weekend. What a fabulous day! 💕 Despite the storm and floods that threatened to de-rail the whole day and made me late for the first time ever, (a whole other story!) nothing could dampen the spirit of their day. 💕 While they’re not the typical romantic type, their ceremony was filled with warmth, laughter and a ton of love. Their relaxed vibe was a true reflection of them - simple, fun and deeply meaningful. They have 6 children between them and included them all in a family sand blending. We also had a ‘hide the ring’ moment that had everyone in stitches, especially when Jonny’s parents had a moment of real drama when mum blamed dad for forgetting them! 💕 It was also my first time at the Carrie restaurant in Kells, @thecarrierestaurant and wow, it was stunning. Susanna and the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly - Susanna even came out to rescue me! 💕 It’s days like this that remind me why I love this job. I’ve heard recently that some registrars are now offering to include extra touches, like handfasting or personal vows - whilst that’s a nice touch it’s important to know that this doesn’t make it a Humanist ceremony 💕 In a humanist ceremony, the entire focus is all about you - your love story, values and beliefs. There’s a VERY special moment after I marry a couple - you know, when the ceremony is over and they’re officially married…..and then I get to hug them 😍 💍 💕 It’s like this magical “yayyy we did it moment” where all the excitement, love and happy tears come together. I’m not just there as a celebrant …I’m part of their journey, I’ve felt their nerves and their excitement and everything in between, and those hugs?? That moment when the celebrant (yes me!) had a little slip of the tongue and said husband instead of wife!
