I now earn double what I used to earn as a teacher and I can work the hours that fit around my family and lifestyle. It’s totally up to me when I work, and I have achieved that balance of having a successful, financially rewarding career, and being there for my children and family.

Meet emma from Jiggy Wrigglers Havant and waterlooville

When I left teaching, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do.

I thought about retraining, but when a friend suggested that I could be a leader for Jiggy Wrigglers, I thought I would give it a go with a view to maybe taking on a franchise, if I enjoyed it.

I was a leader for about seven months and during that time I increased the number of sessions running and children attending.

I could see how I could make this a very profitable business and I knew that it would be a very enjoyable sector to be in.

I bought into the business in December 2021 and had my first sessions in January 2022.

I created a business plan with a clear vision of wanting to increase the baby groups and the investment that I would need to make to ensure i could achieve it.

My research identified a gap in the market for this age group, so I was clear that this would be a great route for growth. In just a couple of months, I had increased the number of weekly sessions from
ten to nineteen and had tripled the number of baby groups on offer.

Last Jiggy Mixed and Jiggy Babies done at Hillington this morning 😪
The place where my story started, and do you know what really lovely? All the boys and girls that were at Jiggy Mixed this morning started at my Jiggy Babies - some on my very first day too! It’s been a pleasure and privilege watching them grow, watching them smash their milestones and we’ve celebrated many of them at jiggys along the way. The confidence these babies and toddlers have got is so amazing to see and I’m so grateful for you coming along to jiggys and allowing me to be a small part of their lives for the last 2 years, I really mean it when I say I’ll miss you!
Jiggy Babies - this particular group have grown and stayed together over the last 5 months, except Oliver who has been a Jiggy baby for the last 9 months, showing the babies how to Jiggy! It’s been amazing to see them growing and developing, from tiny sleeping babies, all trying out our up to 8 weeks free sessions and then staying on until today when we’ve said goodbye. I’m hopeful that someone will come along soon to carry on, and I’m sure the next person will love your babies as much as I have. You’re all very special people and I’m grateful for this time we’ve spent together.

At Jiggy Wrigglers we use Makaton in our baby groups to help little ones communicate before they develop speech.

This week we had an incredible training session with Jen from Little Talk.

We chose Makaton for the Jiggys team because it’s recognised and used by over 100,000 children and adults. It’s so important for young children to be able to communicate clearly with others, especially those who may have speech or language delays.

This skill isn't just useful in our sessions, it also helps when children start nursery or school. We truly believe that all children should learn at least the basics of Makaton, to promote communication, social skills and inclusion for all.

Imagine if your little one helped another child who was struggling verbally, but could connect through Makaton.

If you're not already familiar with Makaton, give it a go.

It could make a such a difference to your child's life and the lives of those around them, which is a beautiful thing to see.
