I have a fair amount of interesting Star Wars collectibles (original comics, fan club memorabilia, autographs, posters, promotional backdrops, toys and props which I've never displayed before) as well as a Dejarik board (holochess) and Star Wars chess.

I'll make sure all kids get a free gift to take away to remember the day.

We also have on display Star Trek, Thunderbirds, Bratz, Actionman, DC & Marvel figures and thousands of other pieces to see, interact with and learn about.

Great event on Saturday 14th. Attended the Comicon at Utilita Arena, Newcastle. I did a cosplay Hellboy, and I had the Hellboy Right Hand of Doom signed by Warwick Davis (Prof. Flitwick in Harry Potter / Wicket W Warrick Ewok in Star Wars), His Son Harrison (Pommet Warrick in Star Wars) and his Daughter Annabell (Thromba in The Force Awakens). You can't get more Star Wars royalty than that ! Come and see the Right Hand of Doom and many many other Star Wars figures, collectibles and comic books at Boldon Toy Collection.

I just re-watched Star Trek the Motion Picture (STTMP), it has probably been more than 5 years since last watching it *I've read the novella a couple of times in the past too). I am even more taken with it than on any previous watch.

I'm convinced that its a love stroy. Love of Kirk and the enterprise. Bones and medicine. Spock and dity/friendship. Scott and engineering. But the love shared between Will Decker, played by the marvellous Stephen Collins and Ilia, played by the incomparable Indian movie star Persis Khambatta was just perfectly pitched. Subtle at times,

Persis was able, with just a glance, to embody longing, ache and a wanting. And, finally, they both got the love they wanted in each other, which in true Star Trek form 'saved the day'.

Here's a video of Persis having her head shaved to play Ilia. The poor girl is almost crying losing her locks ,,,, and Go watch STTMP :)

My custom 3D printed DL-44 Blaster, Han Solos' gun in Star Wars. Its in a custom case, all made by me, showing an exploded view of the parts. I printed the replica gun in wood for originality, which took about 30 hours total. Then it was sanded, hand finished to remove the supports, very fiddly work especially around the frets to the front of the trigger. And then I gave her a few coats of clear laquer. I'll probably offer it for sale, but no idea how much to charge! Anyway, though you all might enjoy seeing it in all its glory. Also included a view of the ouside of the box, which has a magnetic closing strip. It was a fun build, but I'll probably never make another one !

Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, it is with regret that I've had to cancel the Star Wars even this Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who expressed an interest in attending. Those who purchased tickets have been fully refunded.

Please note that The Word in South Shields and Neil Cole Sci Fi Museum in Allendale will be open for visitors as usual. I strongly recommend a visit, both are really excellent venues that i cannot rate highly enough.

Todays birthday is Hannah John-Kamen. She has plenty of Sci-Fi chops, having played a First Order Officer in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Ava Starr/Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), a Dothraki in Game of Thrones and parts in Black Mirror, Killjoys & Ready Player One.

Couple of projects underway at Events HQ.

Just finished a 3D print of Han Solos blaster, 13 separate parts to assemble. Here's a picture of the last two pieces, the breach and the hammer being slowly but surely printed. I'll post some pics of the full print, all parts and final build when its ready.

Secondly I've got one more figure to print of Ng'OK to complete my Dejarik set (holographic chess in NH and Solo) - and here's a picture of my Dejarik board. Its 54cm across!

Again, I'll post some nice pics of the pieces and board in play, once they're sanded and complete.

Come and have a game of Dejarik, see both completed projects, and a lot more at the Star Wars celebration day on October 13th.

Two birthdays of note today in the land of science and fiction.... Mark Williams is 60 today - He played Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter and Brian Williams in 2 episodes of Dr Who.

Also Honor Blackman who is an amazing 94 today - she previously played Professor Lasky in The Trial Of A Time Lord, Cathy Gale in The Avengers (1962-64). But her best known role was as Bond girl P***y Galore in Goldfinger (1964).

Today is the birthday of Ahmed Best (born August 19, 1973). He is the voice actor who portrayed Jar Jar Binks in all three films of the Star Wars Prequel trilogy. All say boooo ... :)
