Wow, what a weekend! Lydia & Jamie's wedding was beautiful, elegant, and epically messy on the dancefloor! The bridal squad kept that floor bouncing all night long, they were a force of nature!
The decor looked stunning in the barn, the mix of disco chic and classic autumnal florals was stunning and fit perfectly in the space.

So my three weekends off didn't last... But still, as the wedding season starts to wind down, festive fun winds up! Cannot wait for the Halloween Ball I will be working this year, then it's Christmas chaos!

Something happened last night that I need to share!

Hi all, I'm Zara, and I work with as one of his team of DJs across venues in Shropshire.
Last night the dream happened, again...
The band were not only amazing, but they were up for some bants with the DJ and open to working together to make the evening unforgettable. This meant that any hiccups or delays were dealt with swiftly and resolved with ease, the crowd felt a continuum of energy, and we all had an absolute blast!
This makes for the best night when you can work collaboratively and not be competing for ownership of the dancefloor.
And my God did it work, that floor was full ALL NIGHT LONG!!

So if you're booking a band and a DJ for your wedding, please please put them in touch with each other or at the very least ask how they would work together to get the vibes right on the night. It makes all the difference 😄

Rather epic party tonight with a new band for me to work with (new to me anyway!). They are absolutely bangin, and put on a hell of a show. If you like your indie and alternative sounds, these are the guys for you!

Last weeks Discos were something extra!
1) magic bubbles at Wroxeter Hotel, Wroxeter
2) live sax and mayhem with Rick Sax at Netley Hall
3) first dance delights at Abel's Harp
4) unlikely hit of the night at Albright Hussey Manor

All discos last week provided for and on behalf of Steve the Mobile Dj as part of their preferred provider and hotel packages.

The part of the job no one ever sees and no one ever considers when you quote for a gig.
I spend on average about an hour sorting music for each gig I do.
If it's a wedding, there is the aisle music, wedding breakfast, cocktail hour, first dance and other special songs, then the main gig with however many requests there may be... All to be sorted into folders so I can find what I need easily, making sure songs that aren't played often or at all are good quality and have no dodgy lyrics or instrumental sections I'm not expecting, and making sure I have the correct version too!
If it's a school disco or a birthday, it's sorting popular songs and requests or inspiration folders that might be different to my usual go to songs...

This part of the job is not the sexy bit, and it's not always fun as sometimes some songs just suck to listen to (I have started to really dislike Justine Timberlake's Can't Stop The Feeling) because you hear them so often or they just don't do it for me. But it's not about me, so I do this because it's part of the job!
But people don't realise the time it takes, and the cost when buying new music if you don't have the right versions or that track at all.
So right now I'm on hour 2 as I've two gigs this weekend that need prepping, and I need another cup of tea already 😁

Some weddings recently have had such epic vibes! I am utterly blessed to work in such a happy and fun industry. Don't get me wrong there are days when things don't go to plan or when you meet some challenging people, but on the whole everyone is lovely. And even if not perfect, everyone always seems to have a great day with family and friends.
Honestly loving the 90s/00s resurgence of late, makes for such a fun filled night.

It was a joy and pleasure to provide disco and karaoke for these wonderful and talented people. I was humbled by the kindness of the staff, and blown away by the amazing vocals of the community guests (they can certainly sing for their supper!).
I absolutely loved every moment of our evening together!

One at Davenport House for Katie & Daniel. The other at Wroxeter Hotel Shrewsbury on behalf of Steve the Mobile Dj for Emma and Gareth.
Both stunning venues, gorgeous couples, and totally different nights but epic in equal measure.
