HOW FLIPPIN’ CUTE IS THIS! 🥹🥹🥹

This weekend we were gifted this little wooden carved creation complete with a hinged hatch that Emma’s grandad has been secretly working on since we had our family chippy feast on Christmas Eve.

The amount of love and hours he has put into this is overwhelming - we love our new mascot!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Merry Christmas to all of our lovely customers, from our home to yours! Thank you for another fab year -the cards, gifts and home made bobble hat were very much appreciated.

We have spent the afternoon cooking up a fishy feast for our neighbours and family - perks of the job aye 😝

This week is our 1 year anniversary of owning The Happy Plaice! What a year it has been, full of steep learning curves, new friends, chilly nights, boiling evenings, laughter, weddings, rebranding, support, dancing round the van, serious investments into burn remedies, parties, but mainly…lots of fish and chips!

As a reminder our stops are:
Tuesdays: Meppershall - The Sugar Loaf’s car park
Wednesdays: Shillington - Village hall car park
Thursdays: Pirton - Next to the post office
Fridays: Clophill - On the green
Our serving hours are 4.30-7pm and any preorders are welcomed from 4pm on 07833 786108

Remember we are also available for private hire, whether it be a wedding, birthday, christening etc - everything is better with good food!

All of our fishy offcuts are donated to a local turtle sanctuary! This weekend we got to go and meet some of the little (and not so little!) guys that we help keep happy and healthy - it was a blast!

Update from The Happy Plaice! 🐠
Due to our existing commitments we are finding that serving 5 days a week isn’t working so we have made the difficult decision to say that we will only be out Tuesday-Friday, no more Mondays!
You can still find us in Meppershall on Tuesdays, Shillington on Wednesdays, Pirton on Thursdays and Clophill on Fridays.

Absolutely fabulous day! Thank you so much for all of your support and to our team on the day ❤️

Highlights include:
A gentleman coming over at the end of the day and saying ‘I’ve gone round to all of the food vans and I have to say you guys are the best. So smiley, so much energy, clean and terrific food to top it all off!’

Leaving the venue with people shouting ‘best fish and chips ever!’ to us.

Cooking the most food we’ve ever made in a day

Meeting all our fellow vendors - you guys are all amazing!

Coming home to a full homemade roast dinner package on the door step from our mum 🥳

We are at Little Gransden Airshow today for our first big big event! Wish us luck, send fishy vibes 🐠🐠🐠 we even have a little mascot for the day with this little plane our grandad made for us! ❤️

So this is it, our training with the lovely Debby has finished and we are officially flying solo! We can’t thank Debby enough for the extensive handover meaning that we can continue to serve the quality fish and chips that you’ve come to know and love over the last 14 years. We hope to do everyone proud and continue the legacy! Safe to say we have made lifelong fishy friends in Debby and Jeff so a lovely happy ending to their chapter and start to ours - wishing them all the best in their future endeavours x
