Remember our New Years Eve party planned for this evening has been CANCELLED but we are open today from 4pm-8pm, and if busy we will stay open until 10pm at the latest.

Do remember you can bring in your takeaway or have a takeaway delivered here to the pub, so you can enjoy a drink but not have to worry about the washing up. (small charge pp)

Unfortunately as we all know, COVID-19 has far from gone away and as a country,we are still very much in uncertain times.

What we do know is that infection rates are rising and we always want The Dickie to be the safest place to eat, drink and relax and we want to play our part in keeping our customers, team and community safe.

It is for this reason and so that people can plan, that we have taken the decision now to CANCEL our New Year’s Eve celebrations and obviously any deposits paid will be refunded.

Whilst New Year’s Eve may be cancelled, the pub is still very much open and we look forward to helping you enjoy the run up to Christmas including jazz on Christmas Eve and a Christmas Day tipple or two! (in the safest way of course).

Someone who wishes to remain on the QT has more than doubled the ‘One True Fairy’ collection making the total an unbelievable £1000 which is being donated to Conor’s (The winner of ‘One True Fairy’) chosen charity ‘Air Ambulance’.

PRESS RELEASE FROM DICKIE NEWS For Immediate Release

Well the results are in and after a fiercely fought battle,

The Dickie ‘One True Fairy’ for 2021 is……

Conor (with one ‘n’) meaning an amazing donation of £480.76 for the Air Ambulance Service.

After revealing him as the winner to a packed pub on Sunday 5 December and to the emotional but totally apt track, ‘This is my moment’ performed by Martine McCutcheon, Conor accompanied by his supporters told The Dickie News:

“This really is an amazing moment in my life and incredible privilege to be crowned the very first Dickie
‘One True Fairy’.

The competition has been hard but being crowned has brought me both warmth and joy and more importantly, a much needed cash injection for the incredible work of the Air Ambulance Service who anyone of us could need at any time in our lives”.

Runner up Magz said of his defeat;
“I am gutted not to have won, but Conor (with one ‘n’) has run a truly fantastic campaign and his chosen charity benefits the whole community. That said, he better watch out as next year will be my moment and I will sit on top of that tree!”

In a dramatic turn of events, another Candidate Fairy Rachel, threw her glass against the wall, refused to comment and walked out!

Conor (with one ‘n’) as the One True Fairy, will now grace The Dickies amazing 7ft Christmas tree with its 2million lights in an outfit modelled on Diana, Princess of Wales wedding dress and will be there for the month of December.

As an aside and in a time of giving; the donation to the Air Ambulance will be made in January 22 so it’s still not too late to give so please feel free to hand over your cash!

For those not within walking distance and perhaps wanting a drink or two, or three….. we do have a charity collection and get you home service so why not;

• Leave your car at the pub overnight and get taken home, OR

• Book a slot in advance to be collected and taken home.

Collection slots are bookable in advance and take home slots are bookable on the night on a first come first served basis,
but you are guaranteed to get home!
