So 4 years ago today Norwich Droids was formed, initially it was a bit of fun for me and my son, since then Norwich Droids has grown dramatically with the members and droids. To this day it has been a fantastic journey and are grateful for the support of the people that invite us to their events.

Norwich Droids would not be the fun group it is without the likeminded individuals within. Lastly it would not be the same without the support from our followers.

Capcon last weekend was fantastic! Great crowds and interactions :) the droids were a big hit but sadly it was the last ever Capcon - Cosplay and Prop Convention :( we always enjoyed this event and we will miss it.

This weekend we will be attending Capcon - Cosplay and Prop Convention in Ipswich. We have been building more droids. Here is a sneak peak of our newest droid who will get his first outing going the Episode 1 line up along some battle droids and a full size Droideka.

Well what a fantastic weekend at Great Yarmouth Comic Con, I want to send a massive thanks to Norwich SW Club Uk for loaning us an amazing backdrop for our Droidika and Battle Droid Display. Also a massive thanks to Great Yarmouth Comic Con for inviting us to such a brilliant fun event. We hope that everyone enjoyed seeing the droids as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you. I don’t take many photos due to driving droids but here are a few highlights from the weekend.

BB9-E starting to get his panels. Just printing the last few brackets to fit the grill panels after having to design some custom ones for the job. If all things go to plan then he should have all his panels fitted by Friday night.

Feeling that the Dark Side is lacking, we are taking steps to remedy that.

Following on from the addition of the Imperial Probe Droid last year to our imperial Mouse droids an Imperial astromech has been added to the line up already this along with K2SO, also in the works is an Interrogator Droid, DRK Sith Droid and now BB9-e has begun.

Last week on May 2nd we had the privilege to be invited by Industrial Light and Magic who are the geniuses behind most movies nowadays including Star Wars. It was a very long day for all of us but an experience we will never forget, it was a great evening and all the staff loved meeting all the droids. I think by far it was the best event we have been to and are still buzzing now a week on, at the event we unveiled the Destroyer droid built by Tom which went down a treat and was well timed considering the 25th anniversary of the Phantom Menace was on that week. A highlight was when the team behind Andor season 2 complimented our K2S0 saying that it was spot on.

We look forward to doing more with ILM in the future.

Well what a day today for May 4th celebration, while half the team were in Chantry Place Chopper and R2 travelled the Tube into Central London. We spent the day in the Lego Store in Leicester Square for their new Star Wars Lego promotion. Fantastic day with a few hiccups but still we survived, happy May 4th

Despite R2-D2 and Chopper having a slight disagreement last night, they have since made up. Having braved the London Underground last year Chopper is returning to the in Leicester Square. This time he won’t be travelling alone on the tube.

DROIDEKA!!! To celebrate 25 years of Episode 1.

For the last 3 months we have been working with Droid Division on beta testing his newest file set.

Fully 3D printed and self supporting. Files will be for sale over the celebratory May 4th weekend.

Finally, the IPD is all rewired and ready for Great Yarmouth Comic Con.

Switch panel now designed and made for fitting into the new under body bucket for the IPD. Final wiring and fitting just left to do before painting. The other half has been printed with a further 4 switch’s has also been made.

After a lovely day with the April showers I am really pleased with the weathering done by the talented Anton Cook and my son Thomas, together we braved the rain under shelter and just over 4 hours of work resulted in this. There are a few areas I want to add a bit more but will wait until the dome is finished first
